his pod says reject on it. from the start clembrane knew that he was a failure. but he didn’t want to believe it, he wanted to believe that he could take care of the membrane children as if they were his own. 

but then at the end when zim told him he was a failure--that’s when it hit him hard. he wanted to believe that he did well keeping the children safe in the absence of their real father, but zim telling him he knew he would be nothing but a failure since he couldn’t even figure out how to make pudding right--he doubted everything he stood for in that moment. 

did he actually take care of the membrane children? or was he more of a nuisance to them? this is why he came to the conclusion to stop zim and give minimoose over to dr. membrane, because he WANTED to do good by that family. he wanted to prove that he wasn’t a failure, or a reject--that he was something worth having around, even if it was towards his “masters” enemies.

if you told me a month ago i’d be making a blog for a fish scientist who makes pudding and delve deeper into his psyche---- i really wouldn’t know what to think.

     clembrane looked down at the small robot and sat down beside him so the both of them could be at better heights. putting a hand on the smaller’s head, he gave a soft pat. 

          “thank you, you’re very nice to me and i appreciate you.”

"So, I have a question for you. You KNOW you were made by Zim, right? So you must remember being in his base and all, and seeing him without a disguise? Plus that incident with the world ending. You... You, at least, know he's an alien .......right?"

     normally clembrane wouldn’t give away zim’s secrets, but after what he had said to him not too two minutes ago long ago, the clone looked at dib with determination and nodded. 

          “yes, i know zim is an alien, and i know i was made by him--he called me a failure so we’re not on good terms right now.”

     these words came through clembrane’s mind as if zim actually said them to his face–well he said failure but that’s nOT THE POINT HERE. and he could already feel the tears come streaming down his face. but why was he allowing zim to still make him feel this way? he had found a family, and even though he felt like the oddball out, they still kept him around, allowed him to stay in the house with them–so why was he crying over something zim said? 

     he wasn’t going to allow it anymore, he thought as he wiped the tears away from his eyes. 

          “you can’t talk to me that way, i have a new family and they want me around—so—just go away.”
