âI have a feeling that might have been the motive to get you to help, but it is a good lesson. You should always help anyone that is in need, strong or not.â
âNo wonder longer you and dad get along so well,â jake comments with a laugh. âYou sound incredibly similar sometimes. where are you headed with all that stuff anyway?â
cfteddyaltmanâ:
âLooks can be deceiving.â Teddy says with a grin and a wiggle of his eyebrows as he sets down the somewhat elaborate cat tower. It seemed much easier to take it home assembled than to have to put it together later, but.. heâs probably attracting a little bit of attention. Not everyone has enough strength to make something like that look easy. âIâm alright, but thanks for the offer.â
âuh huh,â jake laughed crossing his arms over his chest. âeven heroes get tired though, thereâs no shame in that,â heâs teasing, at least for the most part anyway. he knows that teddy would be just fine. âtell me was there not a bigger tower? because something tells me you kind of lost out here,â
mccn-knightâ:
the smile spreading across his face at the term âbaby sisterâ was one she was unable to hide. it was still a little strange to the girl that had been raised as she had, mostly alone, certainly never with siblings, âah yeah, Iâm such a horror arenât i?â she laughs and bounces her way over to him after putting things away and grabbing her things, âi mean, i have enough snacks to feed an army in my bag, but fair. I vote somewhere with good tea that isnât Lipton. dâyou have practice later?â
jake took his role of sibling seriously he hadnât known any other life really, so it made falling into the role easy enough. he did try need to make a special effort where anna was concerned, kurt and him had very much had to figure out this mess together with his older brother being the protective one, claude had never needed anyone so jake wanted to make sure she had someone to come to. âoh you have no idea,â the elder laughed.âsnacks arenât lunch anna, donât worry i know a place,â he replied with a laugh. âyeah but itâs not for a few hours so youâve got me to bother you until then,â

He wasnât supposed to be struggling with such a feasible task. Or maybe lifted a hundred pounds wasnât so doable at the gym, but Shadow was determined. His arms was shaking, beads of sweat was bubbling on his forehead, but he knew he could do it. âI got it.â His words were choked out, jaw set as he took a deep breath. He pushed up, o nly for the bar to lower down to his chest, which wasnât right. âIâŠâ Pausing, there was a nod and Shadow wanted to look away rather than face his own failure. âYeah, that would help a lot.â
âyou sure?â jacob asked with a raised brow. the two of them were on the football team together and so he had gotten to know the other pretty well. as far as he saw it there was no shame in asking for help, especially if it was from your teammates. it was what they were therefore after all. to be there for each other either on or away from the pitch. âi got you buddy,â jake speaks with a laugh before stepping forward to help his friend. moving the weight away from the other and putting it to one side. âbetter?â
grlkingâ:
â iâll be fine , jake - â uzoma paused , watching him hurry over to her. â i said i could do it myself. i might not have superpowers but i can handle something thatâs a little heavy. âÂ
âi know,â jake replied holding up his hands in defence. she was preaching to the choir at least where powers were concerned. âi just donât think you should have to, considering me and my perfectly fine arms are right here,â
paintstaindâ:
rosemary had thought that carrying over all the art supplies she needed in one trip would be more convenient. of course, it was awkward and heavy, and it was something she probably shouldnât be doing in heels so high, but she didnât want to go more than one trip. âoh, dude, are you sure? itâs just a lot of shit, you know?â
he had been raised to lend a hand with what he could, even though he had no superpowers like his siblings, the standard rogers rules still applied. âyeah i get it,â he nodded. âi help my sister carry her art stuff all the time, trust me iâve got this,â jake stepped forward to free the other of her burden. âiâm guessing weâre going to the studio right?â
thundrgcdâ:
âNo worries about me, I can handle this just fine. I appreciate the offer.â Thor says with a grin as he places the two boxes down on the ground, resting his palm on the top of the box. âIf it is heavy then I did not notice.â
âhey if i learnt anything from my dad and buck itâs that even guys with super strength need a hand sometimes,â he shrugged looking at the other. âthough of course that could have just been an excuse to get me to help out around the house,â
energiiesâ:
he canât really help the giggle that escapes him at being caught â itâs a childish sort of noise, something sweet in its innocence. âiâm jusâ helpinâ ya out! saw ya strugglinâ along. ya canât blame me fer it!â despite the innocence in his laugh, pascal still ignores the warding tap from jake, snatching a fry for the boyâs plate and popping it into his mouth. itâs true that pascal has already finished two plates of food, but he canât help himself from âhelpingâ jake along. âyâwant i should get us ânother plate of fries? i feel like thatâd be pushinâ it, even fer us!â
jake huffs, eyes rolling to look at the ceiling. ânot all of us are destined to be champion food eaters like you lebeau, but that doesnât mean weâre not gonna get there,â he laughed, the sound rolling up from up from his chest, making it seem like he was totally at ease. it was true he was never quite as settled as when he was at the otherâs side. no matter the label placed on their relationship, they were one of the ones he trusted the most. âsays the one wanting to finish my food for me,â despite his tone, the rogers boy still nudged his plate towards the other. âyou owe me one p,â

Sylvia adjusted the duffel bag on her shoulder, then her grip on the stack of books in her arms. She eyed the boy, defensive briefly, her eyes narrowed for a fraction of a second. A smile spread across her lips. âThat would be lovely, thank you.â Her tone was a bit too much, far too sweet after a few too many months of not trying.
âyeah sure,â jake laughed taking a few things from her. he had been raised to help out where he could after all, and he saw no reason for the other to struggle when he was right there. besides doing something nice for someone was totally a way to kill time. âso where are these headed?â he guessed the library but then again he could be wrong.
friendships that fluctuate between really stupid weird flippant jokes and earnest vulnerability and deep affection make life so much richer
@ofstcrk
âhey do you need a hand with that?â jake asked taking a few quick steps forward in order to reach the other. as unusual as the academy tended to be it was still a little unusual to see people carry seeming as much as they could manage. âiâm serious it looks heavy,â
mccn-knightâ:
âoh, g'morning!â Anna bounced as she walked over to grab it, setting her brush down. This was her paint hoodie, plain red and already covered in various colors of paint stains, but lovingly washed over and over again. She slips it on with a happy smile, âvery happy,â she confirms with a grin, sticking her hands in the pocket, âdo you want to get food? I had something I needed to paint and didnât actually grab anything,â she shrugs with a smile, moving to rinse the brush she put down off in the sink.
from the moment steve had taken her in, jake had done his best to make sure that anna was comfortable, that she had someone there if she needed one, not that he had found it especially hard to get along with the other. the two had gotten along pretty much from the moment they met, resulting in the close relationship they had now. âfist my baby sister takes up my time with doing her bidding, now she wants food will the servitude never end??â he speaks through his laughter. âyeah of course câmon. dad would never forgive me if he knew i let you skip food,â
@mccn-knight // âam i the best brother or am i the best brother?â jake chuckled from where he stood in the doorway to the art studio. in his hands was the hoodie that anna had left with him after the movie night they had had the day before. he had known she would need it, and had had a free morning so didnât have a problem with running it over to her. âyou happy now?â
@energiies // it was a normal sight to see the two of them to getting lunch together after practice, making the most of the chance they had to spend some time together. it was of times jake really worked up an appetite and pascal, well they could just eat all the time. itâs no surprise therefore that once pascal had finished his own plate jake saw the other reaching for one of his fries. tapping his hand away jake did his best to look serious (though he was well aware of the fact he was really failing completely) âhey youâve got your own damn food,â he laughed not really minding all that much.
@starspanglcdman // thereâs something peaceful about being at home, especially this early before other people started to move around. heâd always been an early bird as steve liked to say. something linked to the fact he just didnât really sleep in general. heâs not in the habit of coming home all too often, he liked the dorms and he never went more than a day or so without checking in with steve and bucky anyway. still itâs a good way of breaking up the semester. âmorninââ jake greeted upon sight of the other, head turning where heâd been lying against the arm of the sofa. âi think weâre out of milk, and no before you say anything i didnât use the last of it,â
