Summer program of the Temporary Professed Bangalore 2017
The long awaited juniorsâ annual gathering began on May 2, 2017, at Nazareth Convent, Chandapura, Bangalore. The ten young vibrant women, under the guidance of Sr. Beena, the junior director, shared with each other the God experience and relevance of their religious vocations over the past year. It was an encouraging experience during which we honed our skills of arithmetic by counting the blessings of our lives. We bid farewell SCNs Jansal and Josephine Arul in a prayer service and through a ceremony of south Indian marriage ritual (Haldi Rasam) on May 5, a day before their perpetual profession. We were also blessed with the opportunity of attending a three day education ministry   workshop conducted by Bro. Joseph Phillip Pinto, CFC. No gathering is complete without an outing; so the juniors undertook a trip to Talakadu and Sangam, a beautiful town on the banks of river Kaveri in Mysore. It prepared us adequately with joy and enthusiasm to begin the seven days of spiritual journey under the guidance of Fr. Shibin, TOR. We experienced Godâs unconditional love and guidance and gathered energy to serve one another with love and zeal in our missions and in our communities. All the juniors renewed their vows on May 19 during the Eucharistic celebration. Â

Communications team completes visit to Botswana ministries
In preparation for Join the Journey, an OMA fundraising event to be held later this year, and for the purpose of gathering community stories, Jean West and Spalding Hurst have traveled across Botswana learning in detail about SCN ministries in the country.
âOur time in Botswana has come to a close. Thank you to all of the Sisters in this country for your unwavering hospitality and openness in sharing your lives, your ministry and your homes to friend of the community, Jean West, and myself. Most importantly thank you for the ministry work that you are doing in this beautiful country of Botswana. It is my hope that I can illustrate your stories to the world as wonderfully as you have shared them with Jean and myself.â
Spalding Hurst, communications specialist, Office of Mission Advancement
Sisters at Carrico Hall, Nazareth
Every day, the Sisters in Carrico Hall find creative ways to be involved in ministry. Faithful prayer, stamp ministry, research and writing, corresponding with prisoners, crocheting items to sell are but a few examples.
Today, Sisters Lucille Phipps and Mary Reisz joined other Sisters who serve the health office by volunteering to answer the office phones while the nursing staff gathered to celebrate National Nurses Week. It is this spirit of thoughtful service that fills Carrico Hall. The Sisters who live there are a blessing to all.
