Malcolm really couldn’t believe his luck, seeing that he’d been in Riverdale for only a few weeks now and here he was, spending alone time with one of the cutest guys he’d ever laid his eyes upon. More than that, Julian seemed to be a legitimate CATCH and he genuinely wasn’t sure how someone like him could ever be interested in him. I mean he was artistic, he was funny and he was sensitive. This all seemed to be too good to be true. Cheeks once again tint their classic shade of pink, something that Julian brought about effortlessly, “I…maybe you need glasses because…” Tongue darts out to wet his lips, thumb continuing to brush against Julian’s hand, “Nobody seems to see me the way you do.” God, stop being so fucking cheesy, Malcolm. Still he couldn’t help but flash Julian a wide grin. “Well thank fuck for that. Seriously…if you witnessed my awful dancing I’d just have to curl up into a ball and die.” Eyes widen, complete mortification gracing its way onto his features, “NO!” He shouts defensively, shaking his head, “I mean…maybe. I mean…Okay now I’m just going to go die.” Malcolm said with a chuckle, wishing he could take back his admittance, “It’s…an innocent crush, I promise I’m not like…a weirdo.” A grin cracks upon his lips again with the tilt of his head, “See! When you say swoon worthy stuff like that, how can you expect me NOT to have a crush on you?” Speaking of which, he remembers to bring his drink to his lips, hoping it’d calm his nerves. Malcolm couldn’t believe they were still holding hands, the warmth even more welcomed as they greeted the fresh air, “Um, no.” He admitted before his brows furrowed, “Oh wait! Actually yeah…I accidentally wandered over there the other day when I was on a run. But um…I trust you.”
in general, julian kept to himself and his small circle of friends. outside of the serpents and the few that were close to him, he didn’t care much for human interaction. all people ever seemed to do was judge you for your faults, for things that were out of your control. and julian just didn’t have time for it but he’d taken a likening to malcom. though he couldn’t exactly explain why he was drawn to him in a way he had never quite experienced before. kind of like a moth to a flame. he was cute, awkward in a way that had julian laughing and wanting to pull him close, shield him from the world, not like any of the other people in this declining hole of a town. blue hues watch fondly as the other’s boy cheeks turn a lovely shade of pink. ❛ everyone else is stupid. ❜ he states as if it’s the most logical explanation of earth. it’s the truth, he thinks. ❛ now i’m going to male it my sole mission to get you to dance with me at the next party, just so oyou’re aware. ❜ he laughs softly. it’s hard to keep a straight face watching malcolm react to the crush comment. ❛ hey, no. it’s cool. i don’t think you’re a weirdo or anything. ❜ julian reassures and he can’t help himself from stepping closer.❛ who says you’re the only one with an innocent crush? ❜ he counters, gaze openly contemplative for a moment before he seemingly comes to a decision, free hand raising to brush softly along the skin of his cheek. slow and steady, gaze locked on blue hues a different shade than his own. it’s quiet for a moment as julian just studies him, voice quiet when he finally does. ❛ good, i promise i won’t let anything happening to you. ❜ dropping his hand the moment passes and he squeezes his hand once before falling into step towards the normal route he usually took home.
