Have you ever heard of the ribbon seal (Histriophoca fasciata)? This ornately-patterned marine mammal inhabits frigid waters in the Arctic. It can be found where the water is deep and the sea ice is more dispersed, making it easier to break through. The solitary animal can dive as far as 1,968 ft (600 m) in search of food such as crustaceans, fish, and cephalopods.

In this image, Earth peeks through the capsule window, reminding us that a view like this relies on the ingenuity and hard work of countless people back home.

In the second image, we see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere.

Also? A memo from the Department of Justice doesn't mean shit. That's not a law. That's not a legal precedent. It's just telling you how they're going to ignore your rights without any legal standing to do so. It's gonna get someone killed when ICE decides they're going to force their way into a house one day and the person inside decides to use their legal rights to defend themselves. And then the fascists will want to use that to further escalate.

Where are all the Republicans who for years have accused liberals of “cancelling” their views? Where are the conservatives who have claimed for even longer they only want to conserve traditional American values? If this assault on civil liberties stands, Trump could just as well arrest and expel permanent residents who voice support for, say, transgender people or DEI or “woke” or Ukraine, or anything else the regime finds “anti-American” and offensive. If it stands, what’s to stop the Trump regime from arresting American citizens who support any cause the regime doesn’t like — such as, say, replacing Republicans in Congress in 2026 and putting a Democrat in the White House in 2028? Does anyone remember Senator Joe McCarthy’s communist witch hunts? I do. They weren’t pretty. Careers were ruined; reputations, destroyed. They remain a stain on American democracy. American democracy. That’s what’s at stake. The Trump regime is out to trash it. The regime doesn’t believe in the First or any other amendments. It doesn’t believe in the Constitution.
