The Unexpected Date by deceptive-serenade Rated T | Complete

This story had me feeling so many different kinds of emotions. I’m so in awe of this author’s talent and the way their writing has completely brought this story to life. It’s crazy to think that the first nine chapters are dedicated to just one date that begins with them meeting as strangers in a bathroom trying to escape their respective dates. The story is told in Rose’s POV and you can see how her feelings for Scorpius develop from chapter to chapter that makes it seem believable and not at all rushed. 

Summary

After meeting by chance in a bathroom whilst running away from their respective blind dates, Rose and Scorpius embark on a journey around London to find that they sometimes chance encounters can end up being the best thing that can happen to you. 

This author also wrote another incredible story, #80 Maturity, that I reviewed 5 years ago. It’s more of a teenage story of them still being in Hogwarts.

Awhh thank you for including Devious Plans under ‘good smut’. Truthfully, I’m quite embarrassed of it and I’ve thought about taking it down multiple times. But people seem to enjoy it for some reason, it’s actually surpassed Inappropriate Behaviours to become my most viewed oneshot so I guess it’s staying.

Answering Questions

Yep, so I’m one of those people who either posts a billion times a day, or nothing for three months. There is no in between. But seeing as I have over 200 messages in my inbox (THANK YOU, I LOVE READING THEM!), I feel like I need to start answering some.

Oh, and sidenote before I begin, the other day I saw on article on Oprah Mag on ‘51 of the Best Harry Potter Fan Fiction Stories on the Internet’ and guess what? There’s a SCOROSE story featured on it - Take the Tumble by kittenshift17. Congratulations! (I haven’t gotten around to reviewing it yet because for some reason, I always thought it wasn’t complete - but it actually is. anyway, I read it like at least 5-6 times in the past already. Go check it out if you haven’t already)

I can’t say that I recall ever reading such a story but it sounds wild. Anyone?

Yep, I read everything that graeliars posts, i’m a huge fan. Now if she could only update The Thing, I would actually cry of happiness.

Yes I definitely read Fighting Temptation and a least a part of Confronting Temptation. But after that, I sort of went on my hiatus and I didn’t really read a lot of new scorose stories after that. But it looks really good, I might give it another go! Thanks for the suggestion!

Scorose Fanfiction #163

The Rumour Mill by enchanted.teapot Rated MA | Complete 

I have no idea how I completely missed this story whilst it was updating, but I guess it goes to show how long of a hiatus I was taking. Nevertheless, this is one of the best fanfics (of any fandoms) that I’ve read in a long time. i was laughing and internally screaming my lungs out every single chapter and I felt my Scorose heart reignite with passion. 

Summary

She never expected things to escalate this way when she (very innocently) woke up in her bed next to a semi-clothed Scorpius Malfoy. Before she could question his presence, her blabber-mouth of a cousin, Lily, appeared and assumed the worst. 

But when she counted on him to tell the truth, he did quite the opposite and  now, the whole Wizarding World thinks they’re dating. Great.

A Spectacle by JealousDragon Rated T | Compete | Twoshot

I didn’t know that I needed this story in my life until I read it. Whilst we’re all going through hard times, this light hearted and funny twoshot was exactly what I needed to brighten up my day. And just when I thought the first part was amazing, the second part was pure magic. I haven’t gotten this excited over a fanfic in a long time. 

Summary

It’s no secret that Rose is more than fond of guys in glasses. But what happens when she finds Scorpius sporting a new pair of spectacles that he’s never been known to wear before? Clearly, he’s got some tricks up his sleeves and it’s about time they come clean.

Updates

I can’t believe it’s been 10 months but I want to start off by thanking every single one of you who’s stuck around. I’ve received so many messages expressing encouragement and appreciation and although I haven’t been updating, I still come here every few days to read them and I just can’t thank you all enough. 

It’s admittedly difficult times for everyone and I actually wrote a REALLY long post 2 months ago to update you guys on how I was doing. Basically, my city was one of the first places that the virus hit outside of Mainland China, so we’ve been encouraged to home-office since late January. 

I normally work two jobs, one being a private healthcare provider and that means I’m still working but admittedly less than before because over here, COVID-19 patients are exclusively treated in public hospitals, but of course there’re other patients to look after too. I’m also a medical researcher in my alma mater so I get to work from home on those days as I’m currently doing a non-clinical study. 

As for what you guys are probably most interested in, I’m still adamant in continuing this blog but I have to admit that I haven’t read a lot of Scorose stories in a long time and my memory is a little hazy. So I’ve been wanting to answer your questions, but I find myself unable to because I simply don’t remember. So expect a lot more of me asking you guys for help haha

As for my own stories, a lot of people have been asking me about ‘Cruel Intentions’ and whether I’ve abandoned it. Let me just start off by saying that I don’t intend to, but I really don’t like the way the story is going. I’ve been getting reviews about inconsistent grammar and some people didn’t like rose’s character, which I understand. So I think if I do continue, I’ll have to maybe edit / rewrite the existing chapters and go from there. 

So that’s it for now, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. And as for those who have already dropped me a message, I’ll try to get around to them asap, but I do have over 200 in my inbox right now so it might take some time.

And last but not least, thank you to everyone who’s stuck around or those who just started following me recently! I’m glad to be back and I look forward to seeing more scorose content from everyone!

One of my many flaws is that I’m quite prideful and I’ve never liked asking for help, but over these years, I’m getting older (my memory isn’t great) and I haven’t been reading Scorose fanfics as avidly as I used to. Answering Questions (Pregnancy Fics)

Tbh, I’m not a fan of pregnancy fics because I enjoy stories where both are them are quite young (in Hogwarts, or recent graduates), and I don’t really like to read about teen pregnancies (nothing against it in real life, but just not something that I read a lot of). Answering Questions (Me?)

At the risk of sounding narcissistic, there have been a few questions regarding my work and my stories lately, so I thought I would address them in one post. Truly, though, I’m honoured and surprised that there’re people who are genuinely interested in my stories, your feedback feeds my muse <3

Thank you so much! I didn’t expect to see these positive comments about that first sneak peak, but I’m glad you guys enjoyed it! I’ll definitely post it, that’s for sure, but it’ll probably be sometime in June or July, because I have exams right now and I still want to get Cruel Intentions Chapter 4 out first. But for anyone who hasn’t read it, here’s the link to the new royalty fic I’m working on. But yea, I still haven’t come up with a title and that bothers me.

I’m guessing this is regarding the Unfinished Drabbles that I posted. Gosh, I hope I can manage to finish all of them! But as I said, they’re really old so I probably would like to rethink and refine the plot before I start writing!

I sincerely apologise for my inconsistencies in updating this blog and my WIP stories. It’s exam season and I’m revising for the finals of my final (hopefully) year in college and it’s a bit stressful, if you can imagine. Anyway, this story is a short and cute piece and I love the banter that goes on between Scorpius and Rose. 

Summary

She wakes him up one night in search for a place to sleep after breaking up with her boyfriend. Their conversation slowly drifts to Rose unknowingly describing his ideal girl whilst the two lie side by side.

Scorose Shipping Challenge

1. When did you start shipping Scorose?

I think I started shipping them in late 2011? It’s been so long that I can’t remember the exact dates, but I wrote my first Scorose fanfiction in April 2012 (cringe), and started this blog in September 2012.

2. Favorite ship name: Scorose or Rosius?

Scorose, always

3. Would you like J.K. Rowling to write a book about the next generation?

No. I think if you read this, you would understand why. Also, I respect her for creating this amazing universe and if you follow my main blog, I used to worship the ground she walks on. But in the last couple of years, she’s been making so many new changes to the series that she never even mentioned in the book and some of it is very contradictory, and I’m not sure why she does it. If it’s in the name of diversity, then I think I would have preferred her to admit that back in the 90′s, when she first started writing these books, that it wasn’t a topic that is as celebrated and promoted as it is today.

I can go on for hours about this topic, but I digress. 

4. What is your favorite Scorose fan fiction, and what is it about?

Oh, so many! But my standard answer is 30 Days of You and Me, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. But I also love This Is(n’t) Acting, and my favourite oneshot is The Spectator

5. Which Houses do you believe that Scorpius and Rose would be sorted into? The same or different ones?

I’m very cliche, I love the Slytherin!Scorpius, Gryffindor!Rose dynamic, but I also don’t mind reading other combinations.

6. How do you think their relationship would evolve? Would they start off as friends, or start off as enemies?

The thing about Scorose that I love so much is that they have the ability to be anything you want. They can start off as anything, and evolve in any way imaginable. But I suppose judging from the majority of my own stories, I usually write them as friends -> lovers. But I do enjoy reading enemies -> lovers trope, but I’m just not good at writing that dynamic myself.

7. Say one of your personal headcanons.

Rose was one of the first people to be kind to him and judge him for who he is, instead of his last name

Scorpius was Rose’s first boyfriend who didn’t want to date her just for her famous last name, because he knows what it feels like to be judged for his family’s past. 

8. Do you have a favorite Scorose video?

I can’t recall ever watching one, to be honest. 

9. Name a few songs that remind you of Scorose.

10. Name some of your pet peeves in Scorose fan fictions.

11. Who do you think they were friends with?

Rose is close with her family, in particular Albus, Lily and Hugo. I also love a Rose and Dominique or Rose and Louis friendship

Scorpius is pretty much always best friends with Albus in my stories (except in Cruel Intentions [but who knows hmmmm]). I imagine that he would also be close with a few of his childhood friends who are also in Slytherin with him. 

12. What personality do you reckon Rose would have?

First of all, she’s strong and she’s unapologetically herself. She doesn’t feel the need to fit in or have a ton of friends, but she has close friendships with the ones she has. She’s fiercely loyal to those she loves and she’s intelligent, and she’s kind to everyone she meets. And whilst she’s sometimes insecure that she may not live up to her parents’ reputation, she has plenty of people who love her to tell her otherwise. 

13. What personality do you reckon Scorpius would have?

Scorpius had a difficult childhood, but not in the sense that his parents didn’t love him, but that the world already had a set prejudice when it came to him. He tries hard to fight against those assumptions and he, too, is fiercely loyal to the people he loves. However, he’s cold to people who he’s not familiar with because he has trust issues and he’s worried that people will use the things he tells them against him. 

14. Is Scorose a ship you’d typically ship (do you have ships that are similar to Scorose?) or are they unique to you?

I definitely love this Good girl/Bad boy trope a little too much. I ship Klaus/Caroline from the Vampire Diaries as much as scorose and they also fall into this category. I also like Chuck/Blair from Gossip Girl and although Ron/Hermione will always be my first proper OTP, Draco/Hermione is a guilty pleasure of mine once in a while.  

15. Recommend a good Scorose blog (if you know one).

Well, definitely follow @languidbones , she’s a great person and writer. Other than that, I’m really sorry but I don’t normally look at other Scorose blogs. But if anyone has suggestions, feel free to let me know.
