He has been writing songs for years and now with his own unique sound, he is ready to bring something new to the table. The greatest thing to happen to me, thus far (20/11/13)

So, I guess I was too panic-stricken yesterday to tell you about but if you’re not following me on Twitter - then you probably don't know, so I’ll let you in on it all! Basically, Steven Chbosky, the author of “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower”, the book and the film I based my EP, “Love Always, Charlie" on found and listened to my EP! Here’s what he thought:

I was incredibly moved by all of this - and let's bare in mind that it was pretty much midnight, I had to hold back the scream I wanted to let out. For him to see it, meant the world to me; his work just inspired me so much, and then to say it was beautiful was the cherry on top of an already amazing cake.

I guess it sort of feels like closure for this project, not that I'm glad it's over - I mean, I put my heart and soul into IT. But now I can be in the mindset for my newest project to be released sometime next year. I'll let you know about it all soon, I promise.

Updates (14/09/2013)

So, "Love Always, Charlie" has been up for over a month now, so I think it's time I gave you all some new music. I've been tossing around ideas of concepts and a few skeletons of songs for the last few weeks to try and achieve my dream goal of creating a concept album.

But now, I want to broaden that. I want to create music that makes people feel alive, music that has a lot of energy - and that's when I hope to do. Though, I won't tell you everything as it's still very much in construction.

 As soon as I figure this all out, I'll let you know. Thanks.

Thought Process (29/06/2013)

As you all might know, I'm recording and releasing a free EP based on the novel and film, "The Perks Of Being A Wallflower". I thought I would share what inspired the entire process and idea behind creating this EP with you all as short and quickly as I can:

The main thing that inspired me was this scene towards the end of the movie. Especially the phone call scene mid way through this video. I think things like this are created only with perfect scripts, enticing stories, fantastic directing and actors who were born to play the parts they were given. I just felt like this scene was one of the first things in any film to actually make me emotionally attached to a character and storyline. There's also stunning work from Logan Lerman and Nina Dobrev at show here, notably when Charlie hangs up the phone and Candace chokes his name one last time. For me, that's really moving.

So there you have it. Just a little thought process with how the film and novel inspired me to create the EP in the first place. If anyone is interested in this sort of post I might make some more in depth ones about more of my thought process' regarding the songs on the EP. Announcement! (24/06/2013)

So, earlier this year, I planned on creating an EP based the themes and characters in Stephen Chbosky's book and screenplay, "The Perks Of Being A Wallflower."

I wrote a lot of the material and decided on things that weren't certainly set in stone. The only problem is that I didn't have any recording equipment and it was my final weeks of college and I had work that was needed to be finished. But now with college finished and I have recording equiptment, I will be recording and releasing the EP as a free download sometime in the next few weeks. All the artwork is finished, all the music is prepared. Now all I need is to get it all recorded. 

I look forward for you all to hear it.

Recognition (21/06/13)

So, I've recently had some success and recognition with one of my songs. My song "Want" was heavily influenced by the themes and music from Charlene Kaye's debut album, "Things I Will Need In The Past". So, after recording and uploading the video, I sent it to her on twitter and she tweeted back with her thoughts. Here's her response:

So, I have an original song up, called "Want". It's a bit of a sad one but I hope it's really relatable for some people in similar situations as myself. I only filmed the main vocal as I recorded the guitar and backing vocals before hand. I hope you enjoy.
