I saw a sundog earlier this afternoon. A sundog is a false Sun. It occurs when the sunlight is refracted through ice crystals in the clouds at just the right angle to cause this rainbow looking bright spot seen in this picture to the right of the Sun.
Curious as to how much of this snow mound is actually snow?
