Really hate the concept of being overdressed like if I want to wear a latex dress and a fur coat to the grocery store on a Tuesday afternoon I shouldn't be judged I should be applauded for being so incredibly sexy
I feel it in my stomach, i feel it in my head,
i really fucking love you and i wish that i was dead.

Watching the tunnel outside zip by was always something serene. Being removed from it all, if only for a little... it made him feel small and insignificant. Well, maybe not as small as the suit, but that was something different entirely. He sighed softly, touching his head against finger-smudged glass for a moment before he sat back up. It had been a long day. Nothing too bad. Just busy, and he was starting to feel the fatigue set in.
He glanced over to the person sitting closest to him, and in a spur of the moment decision, struck up a conversation. “So, how’s life treating you? You having a good day?” Anything to wake himself up a little so that he didn’t fall asleep and completely miss his stop.

Running from class to class in between trying to get a chai latte and get a paper done and take a nap and feed the squirrels and pigeons (and stop for a little chat with a few of her favorites while everyone gave her weird looks) could really take it’s toll on a girl. She was in as much of a hurry as possible when she just about tripped over herself-- she managed to stay upright with her immaculate balance (ha-freaking-ha), but she did fling that chai latte all over the place. The ground, a little stone wall... and the guy sitting on the stone wall. Oh, nuts...
She turned a bright shade of pink, horribly embarrassed, and gasped. “Oh, gosh! Oh my gosh, I’m so, so sorry! I didn’t-- I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going, I feel so bad. I hope I didn’t mess anything up. I am so sorry,” she said, talking so fast she was almost stumbling over her words as much as she had the tiny crack in the pavement that led to her mortification. Of course he was cute, too, of course he was, because anything else would be too easy and simple and would have made her feel slightly better about this whole thing.
PARTSOFTHEMACHINE:
In some ways, the best part of talking to Klaus was that he didn’t listen. Not really. He just kept pushing drinks Luther’s way--and fuck he used to be able to hold his liquor better--and bobbing his head along like he was paying attention. But he obviously, obviously wasn’t in any capacity.
Or this was some sick joke about Luther being too close to Allison and that’s how Klaus had made the leap to strange. Too close. Fuck, he’d really believed that for so long, but he could see it clearly now. That it was just some bullshit Dad had pushed on them, to make them stop talking to each other. Comforting each other, supporting each other. Being normal siblings who didn’t want to fight each other to death.
None of that mattered now. Luther had destroyed that relationship. Destroyed his relationship with Vanya, too.
They were going to leave him alone in the house. Again.
Shit. He was crying again. Even with Klaus’s truly bizarre non-sequitur and his brother’s hands pressed up awkwardly against his cheeks. The touch sends a shudder down Luther’s spine because he can’t help but feel like his body is wrong and monstrous and shouldn’t be touched in anyway by anyone.
Luther reached up to take Klaus’s skinny wrists in his hands and pull hands away from his face. He flashed back to hugging Vanya--because she’d so desperately wanted it, needed to know she wasn’t hated--and squeezing and squeezing until she’d passed out because he’d been trained to exploit weakness. And then he loosened his grip on Klaus, almost dropped him altogether. Closed his eyes and hiccuped, tried to stop fucking crying like a child.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he finally managed to say, words slurring together.
His fingers twitched-- he pulled away like he’d been burned. Like a red hot stove top burner against the pads of his fingers. He thought he did anyway. It was really more a slow tug, but he moved away nonetheless. Any part of his body being encircled by his brother’s grip set him on edge, made his fucking teeth hurt. He didn’t trust him anymore, not after... things.
Klaus missed the days he just worried that he might make Luther mad enough to hit him and break a rib or something. Not that he may make him angry enough to snap his fragile little bird-bones like a single strand of dry spaghetti, too long to go into the pot. He’d say a twig, but it would be even easier than that for the big guy.
“Hey, man...” he muttered, “Hey, stay with me here. You’re fine. It’s fine. Whatever you’re crying about probably won’t matter anyway. You’re gonna die eventually, right? And I promise you, nothing’s gonna matter then. And all this crying’s gonna be for nothing. So.. you could just stop. And get some pussy, or whatever you’re into, because maybe it would make you feel better..?”
Ben insulting him again registered in the back of his mind. He continued to ignore him. There was nothing he could do to him in retaliation as long as Klaus stayed fucked up.

Tandy had burst out of the doors of the church long before the meeting was over, still clutching a little cup of shitty coffee. She needed some fresh air; she thought she’d be alone. But the man was already there, long and lanky and leaning against the wall smoking a joint. If he’d said his name during the meeting, she couldn’t remember it. Or maybe he lied like she did, telling everyone her name is Megan. Megans were a dime a dozen, anonymous unlike Tandys.
And maybe she didn’t want to talk about the shit her father did and use the name he gave her. He’d hit her mom over and over until he’d broken her down. Until she was addicted to pills and booze and cigarettes and forgetting Tandy even existed. But he’d plastered a friendly smile like a band-aid over it all and acted like her dad and made her feel safe. Told her dumb stories about naming her after his first computer.
“Yeah, well.” Anxiously, Tandy scratches at the inside of her elbow. Tears at old track marks like they still ache. “There are worse things.” There was trying to plaster over all the cracks and hide the darkness and still turning out like her mother.
He chuckled, low and dark as the cold night he stood in. Yeah, there were worse things. Having a father who tore you, your siblings, your very heart and mind and soul into atoms and didn’t bother to rebuild them in any functional way being one of them. Being put into situations where you could easily die, another. She was right, and yet so very wrong, all at once. Maybe if he’d hugged them all once in a while they wouldn’t be so fucked up now. Just a thought.
Heck, maybe he wouldn’t be here right now, dipping out of a Narcotics Anonymous meeting because he couldn’t even pretend anymore. He was a black, empty hole and no amount of drugs or alcohol or meaningless sex he tossed into it, into himself, could fill it. So why did he even pretend to care? Why did he still come to these meetings sometimes, sit there all fake-sorry and pretend he wanted to “fix himself”? Why did he try to drink the Kool-Aid with these people, go down the rabbit hole of self care and learning to love himself? He didn’t know. Masochism, maybe.
“You’re right,” he murmured, watching the smoke drift from his mouth up through the harsh, bluish-white glow of the fluorescent lights above them. “Like sitting in there and pretending to be better. Or that it’ll help. Or that, somehow, no matter how messed up in the head you are there’s hope. Or that coffee they give out. There’s no hope for it at all. Taste like black tar, and it’ll make you just a sick afterwards too.”
Looking her over, now that he had someone’s attention, he tilted his head to the side. She seemed overly tense. A rubber band pulled too tight, ready to snap. He contemplated what to do about it for a brief moment before extending his hand, joint gripped between his fingers. A peace offering, if you will. “...Wanna hit?”
