just a note - these blogs will keep posting (and hopefully more often) in some time, im currently looking into a lower quality widescreen version of the show but am having trouble getting my hands on it. i decided to take a break here instead of at the end of the season to look into it because the next episode has possibly the most egregious color issues so far for stuff that i have to take a picture of

glad to be done with this huge episode, there are a few small appearances before other big ones later in the season at least. i have to say, lights out has top tier early lumpus characterization im really appreciating it. season one is a bit different for sure as they were starting to figure out all of these characters and stuff (much more obvious with say, slinkman's personality) but it's really just so good. in some of the later stuff as ths show goes on, he does get a bit flanderized/extreme and his voice pitch gets consistently higher with that, so it's almost relaxing to return here to season one where both of those things are a lot more balanced. it's fun that he's so excited for his little comet and that it means a whole lot to him, that itself is wonderful, but then him getting frustrated with the scouts yet still humoring them so they can go to sleep and trying to explain several times in ways they can understand why they have to go to bed, and like, almost having that heart in him i guess to eventually be honest even if it all goes to shit on him, in the end. of course, he's still very frustrated but i just smile at how calmly he does try to talk to them in this or this clip. and again, extra points for these early episode his voice is lower cus i really like the little mumbles he does sometimes. good episode
