The might belfry in Gent. A beauty to behold, even at night. Don't you think that it's like the Eiffel tower in Paris, a landmark that watches over the city?

The Gravensteen in Ghent. I like to call it the fourth tower of Ghent. As a 'Gentenaar' you would normally just pass it. As a tourist, I think most of them just take a picture in front of it. But my general advice would be: take a moment to visit the building at a quiet moment. Then you'll really feel a sense of the history surrounding it.

This was taken in the late evening, in the winter. It isn't even a photo from the front. But to me the water surrounding it is the biggest eye catcher. You can get a sense of how it used to be.

An alley in Tongeren, the oldest city in Belgium. Its history dates from the Roman era. Wandering around the city makes you feel connected to the past.

The Zeelandbrug is an architectural masterpiece, it connects two islands/regions of Zeeland. Noord-Beveland, (with cities like Middelburg and Goes) on one side and Schouwen-Duiveland, (with cities like Zierikzee and Bruinisse) on the other side. Did you know that it was once the longest bridge in Europe? The Zeelandbrug was officially opened in 1965 and was the longest bridge until the Öland Bridge was build in Sweden.

The Erasmusbrug/Erasmus Bridge (Architect: Ben van Berkel, 1996), is one of the most well known landmarks in Rotterdam and The Netherlands. It crosses the river Nieuwe Maas and connects the neighborhood Kop van Zuid with the city centre. A visit is highly recommended, so don't just munch away in the Markthal.
