Attention Those Interested in Watching The Shape of Water

A few days ago, I was in dismay upon learning that my theater (or any alternative theater options in my area) wouldn’t be showing The Shape of Water on December 8. 

However,

I recently discovered something recently. I looked up the official website for the movie and came across this

You’ll notice that the December 8 release date is only for specific cities followed by additional cities on the 15th. But what I want everyone to notice is the nationwide release on December 22. So, if you were like me and dismayed that your local theater did not list Shape of Water as the release for this upcoming weekend, there may still be hope. We can save our distresses for the 22nd, which by that date will hopefully have a more definitive answer as to whether or not the general public will have access viewing this film. 

To reiterate: December 8 is the limited release for selected cities. The nationwide release is scheduled for December 22. 

If you know someone that’s interested in seeing this movie, but doesn’t live in the listed cities above, please show them this post. And if there are any inaccuracies present here or new information comes out that discredits this post, please add to it so that people will be aware. I encourage all information that may help people to see The Shape of Water to be shared.

I know this is a highly anticipated film for many, myself included, and I just want to make sure that we are all aware of this release schedule so as to plan accordingly. And for anyone who lives in an area that will be showing this movie either tomorrow or next week, I sincerely hope you give this movie a chance.

I wanna take a second and acknowledge our fandom for a second. I think we’ve all seen the recent video of Wonho coming over to the fans and leaning on them during the concert. I’m finding it hard to put together everything I feel about this but I’ll try to be succinct.

1. Wonho trusts his fans so wholeheartedly. Everyday I am reminded of why he’s my bias. Other idols are more than willing to a shake a hand or two but very rarely do I see that sort of physical line being crossed. He wanted to be close to his fans and he wanted his fans close to him. He loves us so much that he’s willing to have a throng of strange screaming women have physical contact. Do you guys realize how big of a deal this is? He TRUSTED complete strangers to respect his body, which brings me to my next point.

2. Monbebe’s showed the type of restraint and respect Wonho deserved. I am SO FUCKING PROUD of them. They could’ve easily taken advantage of the situation and grabbed him inappropriately, tried to rip his clothing, any number of things which would’ve breached that trust he put in them. But they didn’t. They supported him and touched him gently. This is the sort of behavior that fills my heart with such respect for Monsta X fans. We have a reputation for being very passionate but very polite and this was the ultimate test. We passed.

3. As the fandom gets bigger, I want us to continue in this same fashion. Monsta X bust their asses for us and I think one of the best way we can show them we appreciate them is by staying humble, respectful, and positive. Right now it feels like we are all family and I want to keep it that way. No matter if there are 100 fans or a million fans. The vibe we have going is something I wanna see everyday,

I’m sure there’s more I could say, but that’s all I’ve got right now.
