Happy New Year!

I went back through all my likes, caught up with tracks and artists that I missed and ended up compiling this cross-section of moods, beats and genres.

Compared to last year this selection is bit more scratchy, more analogue,. It goes from old-school, rave inspired acid leads and 808s to wide and expansive ambient soundscapes.

There’s also less drops and more an emphasis on grooves and progression. Maybe that reflects a change in my listening habits. 

Whatever the case is, I had a ton of fun curating this list.

Enjoy another round of progressive, forward thinking music, and have a great 2018!

Apologies for not being around much. I’ve been working non-stop for months getting a big project off the ground. It’s in pre-production right now(!), but it did leave me tired overall. I needed distance from everything both physically and mentally to reflect and get to a calmer mindspace.

I’ll probably post about it here, but it’s not directly related to most of what you’ll see here. 

I might even make a Tumblr for it!

Best Stuff First moves the best stuff on your dashboard—mhm!—right up to the top. 

It’s rolling out this week on iOS and Android, and comes with this Help Center article.

I don’t have the option to turn it off yet, but chances are good that my dash is still affected. Chances are good that y'all have been affected. Whatever you do, keep checking your settings tab for the ability to TURN THIS OFF. Because we creators are gonna suffer from this.

There’s a chance that y'all might not have gotten this option yet, but i finally did. For the sake of all creators out there, check your general settings and look for this option. If you have it, TURN IT OFF. Don’t let some algorithm dictate what you see.

Don’t just like this. It needs to be spread so people know. Not only will your feed be out of chronological order, but creators who aren’t hella popular are suffering lack of exposure because of this. This is the one thing i WILL pressure to reblog.

I had to turn this off on my app! Do it, don’t let an algorithm fuck up new artists’ chances of exposure! I hate that all social media is becoming this.
