This is what I'm talking about. I start with a basic idea, realize how much I love giving gifts and just keep creating.
Suga drags a fry through the leftover Buldak sauce in his plate and pops it into his mouth.
“So you want to get married?” Daichi asks.
“What about buying a ring hasn’t made that obvious?” Suga asks, stealing another fry from Asahi’s plate. Asahi ignores him in favor of looking at the ring again. It’s perfect, if he'd dare to say so. While his heart longs for the biggest stone he could find at the store, his wallet and the logical part of his brain disagreed. Not to mention he’s grown to know your taste, has seen the extent of your jewelry collection. He’d never force you to wear a ring you wouldn’t feel comfortable taking to work or the store for a grocery run, no matter how sparkly it might be.
“Have you talked about it?" Daichi asks and Asahi nods as Suga shorts.
"What?” He asks, a little panicked.
“Shouldn’t it be a surprise?” Suga asks, pulling Asahi’s plate towards him to snack on the rest of his fries. “Now she knows you’re going to propose."
"What if she didn’t want to get married?” Daichi asks their friend. "Would have been a shitty surprise, then."
“True,” Suga admits. “Didn’t think of that. So, what’s got you so riled up?”
“I know she'd want it to be a small thing, but maybe have friends and family come in afterwards to celebrate? But I’m not sure how to pull that off. I don’t even know if I can keep a secret from her long enough for it to be a surprise."
"Oh,” Suga pops up. "Why don’t we plan it for you? That way you can’t spill the beans."
Asahi makes a face. Daichi waves his worries off. “I’ll keep him in check. I think I know a great place, too. They’ve got a little garden where you can have your privacy to ask the question and family and friends can gather in a restaurant nearby to celebrate with you, when you’re ready.”
“That would be perfect," Asahi breathes out. “But the decorations…"
“Will be our thing to worry about," Suga says. "Come on, let me do something! I pulled my weight in Tanaka’s wedding, didn’t I?”
“True. But it has to be perfect.”
“It will be," Daichi promises. “We’ll ask Kiyoko and Yachi for help.”
Asahi sighs, a little more relieved. "Fine. I trust you.”
-
“What… uh… what flower would you be?” Asahi asks one morning, fiddling with his phone.
“What?” You look up from the coffee maker.
“Flower. You?"
"Oh,” you purse your lips. "Frangipani, I think."
“Oh, they are pretty!” He exclaims. "I can see that."
You laugh. "Thanks. Though I like most flowers.”
“Yeah? Which ones do you like the most?"
You eye him for a second. He steps from one foot to the other.
“Why do you want to know?”
“Because I love you?"
"Oh? Well, in that case I’ll tell you.”
-
"I really like that garden,” you mention off-handedly, pointing at the screen.
“You do?" Asahi asks, looking for his phone.
“Yeah?" You blink up at him. “You don’t?"
“No, I think it’s perfect, too. Even when it’s raining, I mean-”
“The rain is what makes it perfect, I think,” you say, handing him his phone. “Are you working on a surprise.”
"Maybe?” He makes a face. "Please don’t ask me about it. You know I can’t lie to you."
You laugh. “Okay, I won’t. Can I ask for my favourite sweets to go along with my surprise."
“Like I’d forget to add that."
-
It’s raining.
Daichi send him a text, asking if they should postpone for a few hours in the hopes of it letting up.
But you look so cute in your boots, not to mention the matching umbrella.
“We’re doing it," he texts back, holding the door open for you. “Ready to go for a walk?”
“With you? Always."
The garden isn’t too far from the train station. Asahi knows the route by heart after doing practice walks, subtly leading you towards it.
"Let’s go inside here,” he says, opening the gate.
"Isn't this a private area?”
“It’s okay, I know the owner.”
“Oh? That’s a new one.”
But you fall silent again as you walk on. The little pond on your left ripples from the raindrops and a daring frog looks up at you from a wobbling leaf.
Flowers, plants and branches move with the weight of raindrops, making the garden seem alive and breathing. Somewhere along the way, the rain turns into a light drizzle and then stops completely, allowing the air to saturate again with the scent of flowers, mosses and rich earth.
“It’s beautiful,” you whisper, finding sanctuary in a tiny wooden pagoda.
"Will you marry me?” Asahi blurts out, tongue scrambling for the speech he wrote and rewrote too many times.
"I love you. You are my best friend and my favourite person in the world and I want to keep getting to know you every day forward. I want to spend my life with you.”
You smile up at him, bright like the sun.
“I’d love to.”
He kisses you, eager and relieved and happy, holding you close.
“Do you have a ring, too?” You ask after a few minutes, giggling. “Because the way I know you,you bought that first.”
“Oh, shoot, the ring!” He pats down his jacket until he finds it.
“Do you like it?”
“I love it."
-
“This way," Asahi pulls gently on your conjoined hands to guide you.
"Aren’t we going home?”
“No. We’re celebrating."
“Oh," you smile. "You really planned this.”
“Not really,” he admits. "Daichi, Suga, Kiyoko and Yachi did so I wouldn't spill it."
You pull close to his side with a laugh. “Oh they know you so well."

It’s a subtle change, but a change nonetheless.
Thumbs fiddling with the hem of his sleeves. Pulling out his phone only to store it in a random pocket, only to freak out a few minutes later because he can’t find it.
“Are you okay?” You ask, not sure if you should expect an answer.
“Oh, yes, sure,” Asahi retorts, almost choking on the sip of his drink he’s taking next.
“Are you sure?” You look around the restaurant. Maybe he’s tired of going to restaurants. Maybe he’s tired of this relationship. Five months are a long time for you, and yet, not long enough.
“Well,” he clears his throat, but the waiter interrupts him by serving your food.
“You wanted to say something?”
“Oh, never mind-” He tries to wave it off.
“No, I insist.”
“We should eat first.”
“Are you breaking up with me?”
“What?” Asahi pales. He wipes his hands on the tablecloth, a habit you don’t find quite as endearing as all the others he’s shown you so far. “No!”
“Because you’re acting weird.”
“I know,” he sighs. “I just… Noya called.”
“Oh,” you swallow. Drag your fork through the salad you ordered. You’re not quite sure what that means. It sounds bad the way he says it. “And?”
“Well, he knows when I usually get a week off, and he said he’ll probably still be in China around that time. You know how he is.”
You nod, even though you probably shouldn’t. The few video calls you’ve had with Noya have taught you a bit about him, but you wouldn’t consider yourself an expert on him yet.
Asahi breathes out. He looks relieved. His shoulders relax, and he starts eating.
You, however, stare at him in bewildered confusion.
“I don’t think I understand,” you point out after a minute of silence.
“Oh…” Asahi blinks. His shoulders tense back up. “I… well, I agreed to go and visit him.”
“In China.”
“Yes.”
“Why did that worry you-” And then it hits you. The week he usually gets off. The week you had planned to go on vacation together, just a simple road trip up to Miyagi to meet family and friends and get to know each other better.
“Are you mad?” Asahi asks.
“No,” you say. It’s true. You’re disappointed, but not mad. He cancelled your trip without even asking. Maybe you’ve put too much faith in Asahi. Or maybe you’re just too much of a romantic. Maybe this is normal.
“If you’re not up to it, we could talk to Noya. Get him to visit us instead. He’d listen to you.”
You blink. “What?”
And there it is again. The tense shoulders. The pale skin.
“I’m just…” Asahi sighs. “I want to see him. He’s my best friend and I hardly get a chance to actually see him in person. It’s rare that he’s this close to Japan for such a long time. But I also want to spend time with you. I just…” He trails off. “I don’t know.”
-
Your phone sits heavy in your hand.
Asahi had dropped you off as usual, hugging you goodbye and leaving with a kiss on your cheek. Your jacket still smells faintly of him, or maybe you’re imagining that.
You’d agreed to think it over and talk tomorrow or maybe the day after. But your mind is a jumbled mess. You think about who to call.
Your mother? Yikes.
You check the time before scrolling through your contacts. Maybe a message? But how do you summarize your feelings and thoughts if they’re this messy?
The call button reacts to your thumb. You think about hanging up, but hey, if your friend’s already in bed, she will just not pick up.
“Hello?”
“Hi,” you clear your throat. “Are you in bed already?”
“No, honey, it’s too early for that. I was watching this crime show I told you about.”
“Right. Is it good?”
“You’re calling to chat?”
“Yeah, sure.”
You listen absentmindedly to the summary of a show you’re not that interested in, fingers fiddling with the blanket covering your lap.
“Have you ever been on a vacation with your partner before?” You ask suddenly, cutting into the detailed explanation of a gory murder.
“Oh, yeah, sure.”
“Was it good?”
“Depends on what you consider good,” laughter. “I mean, one relationship didn’t survive the trip, but I think it was necessary for us to realize who the other person really was.”
“You think that would happen to Asahi and me?”
“Are you scared of that?”
You hesitate. “A little, maybe.”
Silence on the other end of the call.
“Do you think it would happen?”
“I don’t think you need a vacation to clearly see your partner. Not when you’re openly yourself. I just think…” A pause. “You’re a people pleaser. It’s hard to be openly yourself when you’re focused on being what you think the other wants or needs.”
Your shoulders relax. You swallow around a lump in your throat.
“I think Asahi’s one as well.”
“Oh, he sure as hell is one,” a quiet chuckle. “That’s why you two fit so well together. You actually care about each other.”
“Right,” you nod. “I do. I mean, we do.”
“Is that what you needed to hear?”
“Yeah, I think it was.”
“You wanna keep chatting, or do you wanna call Asahi? I have a feeling you want to hear his voice.”
You laugh, the sound tumbling out of you, taking the weight of the evening with it.
“You know me too well. I’ll call you tomorrow, okay?”
“Don’t stress yourself. I’ll be there for you either way. Love you.”
“Love you too.”
- Weeks later -
Noya snores in the backseat of the car Asahi rented for your trip.
It’s a compromise, this trip. For all of you.
“I’m sorry about that,” Asahi apologizes when he stops at a red light, the last one before you get to leave the city behind. “He’s usually a quiet sleeper. At least he used to be in High School.”
“It’s fine,” you tell him, daring to rest your hand on his knee. “He gets to sleep and I get to ride shotgun.”
Asahi smiles. It’s an open smile, one that bares emotions he might not yet be able to talk to you about. But he’s learning to be open, just like you.
Summary: On a brutally hot and humid July day in the Karasuno gym, a miserable Asahi jokes about buzzing off his signature hair to beat the heat. WC: 661
Rating/Genre: Fluff
Warnings: None
A/N: First time ever posting something like this cause my friend said I should definitely do it.
The humidity in the air was so thick you could practically chew it. Inside the Karasuno gym, the heat had reached a level of disrespect that shouldn’t be legal.
Asahi was currently slumped against the cooling fans, his usual man-bun looking more like a damp bird's nest. His jersey was plastered to his back, and he was fanning himself with a stray clipboard, looking like he was one minor inconvenience away from evaporating entirely.
"I can't do it," Asahi groaned, his voice reaching that specific pitch of dramatic despair. "I think the heat is actually melting my brain."
You handed him a frozen water bottle, which he immediately pressed against his forehead with a whimper of relief. "It’s just July, Asahi. We still have August to get through."
Asahi let out a long, suffering sigh, eyes drifting toward the equipment room mirror. He reached up, tugging at the hair ties that held his signature locks in place. "That's it. I’ve decided. It’s too hot to have this much hair."
He looked at you, a mischievous (and very dehydrated) glint in his eye. "I think I'm just gonna buzz it all off. Graduation is coming up anyway. A fresh start. No more buns, no more headbands. Just... aerodynamic Asahi."
The silence that followed was deafening.
You didn't laugh. You didn't even blink. Your brain simply hit a physical "Emergency Stop" button. The water bottle in your hand hit the floor with a dull thud.
"You're going to what?" your voice was dangerously low.
Asahi blinked, his smile faltering. "Uh, buzz it? You know, like Tanaka? It would be so much cooler—"
"ABSOLUTELY NOT."
You stepped into his personal space, your finger hovering inches from his chest. The heat exhaustion was gone, replaced by pure, unadulterated adrenaline. "Asahi Azumane, if you so much as look at a pair of clippers, I will personally stage a coup. Do you have any idea what you’re saying? That hair is a national treasure. It is a landmark. It is the eighth wonder of the Miyagi Prefecture!"
"Wait, it was just a joke!" Asahi squeaked, backing away until his shoulders hit the wall. "I was kidding! Mostly!"
"'MOSTLY' IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!" you yelled, attracting the attention of the entire team. Nishinoya and Tanaka stopped mid-drill to watch the carnage.
"You think you can just shave off those luscious locks because of a little humidity?" you continued, pacing back and forth like a high-court prosecutor. "People spend fortunes on products to get that volume! You have the mane of a lion, the silhouette of a literal samurai, and you want to look like a giant thumb?!"
"A giant thumb?!" Asahi looked genuinely hurt, clutching his hair protectively.
"Yes! A very tall, very anxious thumb!" You grabbed him by the shoulders, shaking him slightly. "Do you realize the emotional toll that would take on me? On the fans? On the world? If that hair goes, the Ace energy goes. Is that what you want, Asahi? To be a hairless Ace?!"
Asahi’s face was now a vibrant shade of crimson that had nothing to do with the summer heat. He looked over your shoulder to see Suga doubling over with laughter and Daichi nodding solemnly in agreement with your points.
"Okay! Okay!" Asahi held up his hands in surrender. "The hair stays! I promise! No buzzing! I’ll just... I’ll buy more ice packs! Please stop looking at me like I’ve committed a crime!"
You took a deep breath, smoothing down your shirt and regaining your composure instantly. "Good. I'm glad we could have this rational discussion."
You picked up his water bottle and handed it back to him. "Now, go put some more cold water on your neck. You’re clearly delirious from the sun."
Asahi watched you walk away, still trembling slightly. He reached up, gingerly touching his ponytail.
"Note to self," he whispered to a snickering Nishinoya, "never, ever joke about the hair. My life depends on it."
Hello guys! So this is my first post, those were some headcanons I wrote randomly in my best friend's chat back in 2021 and I decided to post them now! Obv I know nothing about mafia LMAO so I'm sorry if anything doesn't make sense. Hope you enjoy them!
Disclaimer: I don't own the art or any of the characters. ctto.
Great leadership skills, smart and cunning, knows how to keep his underlings under control, I can only see him as the perfect boss out of all other captains.
THE BOSS: kuroo.
CYBER SECURITY: kenma.
He's the hacker of the gang. Need to crack a code? He's handling it. Someone's trying to hack their system? Then they have brought this upon themselves. Need to access another gang's devices? A piece of cake for him.
As long as kenma is there, there's no worry of any cyber attacks bcz he's this reliable.
SPIES: so there are 3 groups of them.
(Yamaguchi, Kunimi, Konoha) Idk but I can imagine them being sneaky, easily sneaking in and out of any place, taking what they need without leaving a trace.
(Kiyoko, Saeko) They mostly handle old geezer gang bosses, they know how to use their beauty to make any guy lose his mind and give them any info they need without resorting to violence.
(Terushima, Atsumu) The male version of Kiyoko and Saeko, they know how to use their charm to get what they want from the ladies.
(Atsumu is smart but he's still a bit goofy and I can't help but feel like he may accidentally blow his cover if he doesn't lock in lmao)
They're big, height or physique wise, and while iwaizumi may not be the tallest, he's surely strong enough. All of them in general can handle a close-range combat like it's nothing, I mean look at them, they can tackle anyone like they weight nothing. Basically beefcakes.
BACKUP FIGHTERS: Aone, Kyotani, Tanaka, Taketora.
First group wasn't enough? We have our backup group. Aone is built like a whole dam. The other 3 guys are just feral, they'll chew up anyone who gets in their way.
OBSERVING AND COLLECTING INFO: Tsukishima, Ennoshita, Asahi.
They're smart, observant, and can work fast. All they have to do is to observe their enemies in normal situations in order to collect the info they need, either for blackmailing or just to know the next moves of their enemies then they report it to the others. And they prefer this role because they don't have to clash with enemy gang members.
Author note: I actually have more but I figured that it's better to keep posts short. If y'all end up liking it I'll post part 2! Reposts and comments would be appreciated, and thanks for reading!
