I’ve been wanting to make this for a while. The text is not a direct quote, but is pretty much what Young Cecil says in “The Cassette”

being a podcast fan with sensory issues means that sometimes you’ll hear a sound effect and go “wow! what a creative and realistic choice. very immersive. unfortunately it makes me want to gouge out my eardrums.”
also I do some amateur sound design work myself, and my own sound effects are not exempt from doing this to me
a show I’m working on rn (theatre not podcast) calls for a big spike of white noise/static in a scene and all I can say is Ouch
Don’t bring a gun to a knife fight. Don’t bring a knife to a knife fight, either. Stop going to knife fights altogether. What’s your deal with knife fights?
Well... unless it's march. We should all totally stab Ceasar.
"And isn’t it funny that the trees blot out the sky? Physical objects as shadows against the void.
We are nothing if not absurd.
We are nothing."
- Alice isn't dead, part 1, chapter 1
"Monday is the Junior Scientist Fair at the Rec Center. Some of the exhibits from the children will include “Simple Machines”, “Constructing a Basic Circuit” and “Using mRNA to Cure Cancer.” It seems all other scientific organizations in the country have been defunded by people who like cancer, so it’s up to some plucky kids to continue the research. As someone who, unpopular opinion I know, doesn’t like cancer, I disagree with the political party that is pro-cancer and is trying to help cancer kill us."

i designed this here gig poster for the night vale store, you probably wouldn’t understand it
Today’s sponsor is spoons. Can’t get soup without ‘em. What are you going to do? Drink soup? Just pick the bowl up and drink it? Now that I’m saying it out loud, that actually would work fine. I think there’s a number of cultures where that’s how they do soup. Still, how are you going to eat yogurt without a spoon? Ever thought of that? What are you going to do, put it in some kind of pouch that you can carry around and then….no, they’ve done that too? Really?
Ok fine. So there are fewer exclusive-use cases than we thought. But still, spoons are useful. Try spoons once, and buddy, I think you’re going to be back to try more. Our great culture rests on the back of the humble spoon, and don’t you ever forget it.
Spoons: Like a fork, but for wet.
love when a character is a scientist and their speciality is science and they do science in a science lab. no specifics no clear goals no clue where their funding comes from. dont even worry about it. science.
one of the more bleak things to acknowledge is that if you pirate literally all of your music and then set aside a spotify subscription's worth of money each month to spend on a single pay-what-you-want album, it would almost immediately amount to you supporting those musicians more than streaming does
pirating all of your music and then buying a hat or something four times a year still makes you pull significantly ahead of the person who streams thousands of songs every year. it's not really a fair or good system for anyone
What a good post to reblog on bandcamp friday. Remember that any money you spend on albums on bandcamp today goes 100% to the artist.
I saw a lot of people reblogging this with my addition two days ago and now I'm afraid some of them might have thought it was bandcamp friday that day lol. So for anyone with post timestamps turned off: I made that addition on Friday March 7th 2025. Bandcamp fridays always fall on the first friday of the month (when they do them) so the next one should fall on April 4th
The next Bandcamp Friday is on May 2nd, 2025! You can use this page to check how long until the next one :3
The remaining ones this year are:
May 2nd
August 1st
September 5th
October 3rd
December 5th
“Are we living a life that is safe from harm? Of course not. We never are. But that’s not the right question. The question is: Are we living a life that is worth the harm?”
Based on the Subway episode of Welcome to Night Vale
Hey, Alice Isn't Dead fandom -- have y'all listened to the newest Welcome to Nightvale episode?? They teased a new adventure for Keisha in Dana Cardinal's voicemail. Go to timestamp 12:28 right now and listen right now. I'm going to lose my MIND
this podcast really gets me some days.
I tried my hand at redoing my Wtnv poster, I’m not sure how I feel about this but it was fund to do! Plus I like the colours in this!
