i was trying to hold on to my hope for this season but after finally watching the entire thing all i can say is two words : WASTED POTENTIAL.

there were many scenes which could've led to something BUT THEY WERE CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE. and obvs I'm mostly talking about Devil's Minion but not only that. it's a weird kind of feeling because TVL to me felt both rushed and slow. they rushed, skipped or erased completely some of the most interesting plot lines (*ekhm ekhm DM, Nickistat, Nickimand, Lesmand ekhm ekhm* ) but gave us sooooo many unnecessary songs, sexual scenes with Gabi and bonding with the band. I am mostly pissed about DM but honestly all I can say is that this season was just really boring to me. they promised us so much and delivered almost none of it. call me stupid ( I probably am) but there is still a flicker of hope inside me that maybe next season will show us more and better DM. until then I will have my ao3 and those beautiful fanfics.

I think that… perhaps… if you are going to adapt a character as a brown man, and take his traumatic history of over-sexualization since youth (which is the crux of his backstory in the source material) and make that a shared trait between him and a white character, and then treat this trait as something that makes the brown man worthy of derision while simultaneously using it to help humanize the white man and rationalize his abusive actions, you should be prepared for people to point out the racist implications of that choice.

don't forget all the evidence of past devil's minion now. notice how the earliest date armand brought up for the stalking was 1990? if you didn't want to even confess your love to a man you think hates you until you had made "profound amends", only to do so accidentally because you have such a difficult time keeping your composure around him, would you proceed to tell him something you're certain will make him hate you even more? there's no way armand's expecting daniel to take "we were together and in love for 12 years and then i erased it all from your memory" well, especially after he was so upset about armand erasing just six days. it's much safer to distance himself, to make daniel think he was only watching him from afar. then, after all that, he immediately tries to make himself useful to daniel as both his maker and a source of information. he doesn't trust daniel to want him around, and he already feels like the situation is spiraling out of control. he's just trying to keep one hand on the reigns—the same way he always does
