Green tea ice cream I picked up at a local grocery store. Not bad.
If you're from California, you will realize just how difficult it is to find comparable Mexican food in Korea. Because there is none. This fajita plate I ordered from Julio's in Gang-nam did not surprise me by any means. However, it did leave me with a lingering question - where is sriracha when you MOST need it? LOL okay it wasn't that bad. If you try it with lowered expectations, you just might make it out alright.
Ice Cream & Honeycomb. Definitely an interesting combination. Spotted in Gang-nam, Seoul.

Golden Bears in Korea!
Healthy 설렁탕 (Ox Tail Soup)
파닭 (Fried Chicken with Green Onions) is so necessary when in Korea.
In Korea, there are a number of restaurants that specialize in a single menu item. 추어탕 (Loach Soup) is one such item. At these places, there really isn't anything else you can order. Plus, why would you ever go to a restaurant only known for a certain dish and not order that dish?
Pictured above: 추어탕 (Loach Soup) and 미꾸라지 튀김 (Fried Loaches).
I couldn't resist the smell of Takoyaki so there you go.
I'm sure many of you guys are familiar with the common 도토리 묵 (acorn jelly) pairings: 묵 + soy sauce or 묵 + vegetables. But 묵 in a soup (묵국) is definitely a game changer. This type of a food experience is the reason why I enjoy visiting the motherland. I'll save the boring review and give it 4/5.
Eating American food in Korea is always an interesting experience (i.e. Pizza Hut is a sit down restaurant in Korea). This combination pizza did not taste anything like what I would have tasted back in the states. I wouldn't go as far as calling it terrible but it didn't have that greasy, cheesy bite. In fact, this pizza tasted a bit healthy. Trust me, healthy is the last thing I want to experiment with when eating pizza. #firstworldproblems, I know.
I've been drinking a lot more coffee recently. I blame it on the insane number of coffee shops per kilometer radius in Korea. Yesterday I walked by a building with three(!) consecutive floors of coffee shops. Anyways, I digress. Here's a DIY kit for a single serving of hand drip coffee. The kit itself is more flashy than the actual taste of the coffee.
굴 국밥 (oyster soup with rice). I should mention that the oysters were fresh and the soup had a clean flavor. The entire time I was thinking, 'wow what a great decision to eat this on such a cold day'. Will be back for more!
