Use the time of a total stranger in such a way that he or she will not feel the time was wasted.
Give the reader at least one character he or she can root for.
Every character should want something, even if it is only a glass of water.
Every sentence must do one of two things–reveal character or advance the action.
Start as close to the end as possible.
Be a sadist. No matter how sweet and innocent your leading characters, make awful things happen to them–in order that the reader may see what they are made of.
Write to please just one person. If you open a window and make love to the world, so to speak, your story will get pneumonia.
Give your readers as much information as possible as soon as possible. To heck with suspense. Readers should have such complete understanding of what is going on, where and why, that they could finish the story themselves, should cockroaches eat the last few pages.

So me and David signed the lease for the house today! Here’s a couple pictures of it. Fun Fact: The landlord said there was another group of people so close to getting it but she heard my voice on the phone and said “this is the one” whatever that means 😂 and then she saw my last name and said it was a sign (because it’s Italian and this area is where all the Italian-Immigrants used to live back in the day), how cool! 😎

Your last car ride with me... your last cheeseburger with me... I remember being 16 years old and being introduced to this little, smelly, funny dog that used to spin in a million circles before he sat down and get scared when I chased him around flapping pages of books at him. I remember thinking small dogs were annoying little rats. I remember me and Kate being hesitant at first, and then falling in love after the first day. And I remember how you changed all of that for me. I remember how used to come in to my room, 5 o’clock, every morning. If the door was shut you’d knock it open with your head (like the goof you were), jump on to my bed and ALWAYS find my butt and cuddle up next to it. I remember how you though chicken nuggets were treats and you’d get anxious trying to hide them. I remember how every one of my friends met you and instantly loved you, thought you were hilarious. I remember how much of a comfort you were and how easily I could fall asleep with you in my lap in the recliner. I remember me and Kate holding you in the air and pretending you were Simba. I remember all those lame outfits Mom put on you. I remember you and me taking turns chasing each other around the house and you getting so excited that you would just start sprinting end to end even when I stopped. And lastly, I don’t think I will ever stop remembering the look in your eyes when you transitioned from life to death, and how warm and real your body still felt after. What I witnessed today was the most guaranteed, and most unfair part of life. I used to think people who posted about their loved ones passing were missing the point, but I see it now. I used to think people who gots extremely upset over their dog’s death were being excessive, but I see it now. I hope I see you again one day. Fortunately, until today I have never had to say goodbye to someone very close to me. Today was my first. I still can’t wrap my head around it. I was shocked at my own expression of grief this morning, forgetting I wasn’t incapable of feeling such intimate emotion and frustration. They say a dog is a man’s best friend, and I lost mine today.

i understand when ur 13 and u just realized u have a mental illness and ur so relieved to know there are other ppl going thru the same thing as u, its easy to slip into the idea that your newly labeled thoughts and behaviors are normal and okay.
they are not. suicidal thoughts arent normal. violent impulses arent normal. delusions and hallucinations arent normal.
now that you have a name for this behavior you need to seek help. dont let tumblr trick you into thinking unhealthy coping mechanisms are the only ways to deal with your mental illness. dont let it fester, dont let it worsen. seek as much help as you can. actively try to better yourself.
