Lil' Guy Webcomic vs. Epic Webcomic: who will win?
That time on our February Patreon episode when @varethane brought us wisdom from the Homestuck mines.
Portfolio reviews are common in the world of print comics, but what about webcomics? The creators of the Screen Tones Webcomic podcast are taking sign-ups for WEBCOMIC PORTFOLIO REVIEWS, where you can show us your work and we'll write a summary of the most engaging parts we find, as well as facets to hone to retain readership, increase reader understanding for parts that may be confusing, and other recommendations to help you meet your creative vision and goals!
How it works:
Webcomic submissions will be taken during our submission period May 1-5, 2026 via the form on this page, where you can share your website, areas to focus on, and other information.
Our team will review the submissions we have received during our review period (May 6-29)
We will email you our feedback at the end of May/beginning of June.

So here’s our scenario: you’re making your webcomic, your readers are following to the best of their ability, but you’re hearing the feedback that they can’t tell some of the characters apart. This can be about how you draw them, the styles and coloring you’re using… OR there could be aspects of your writing that are affecting how they’re perceived. For whatever reason, people are getting confused....That's what we call:
Same Face Syndrome! And Screen Tones is here to help you diagnose and treat.

There are a lot of approaches to comedy in comics, and I wanted to get an episode together about that. Humor is OFTEN rooted in all kinds of cultural trends: current events, age groups, time periods, and styles, so it can be hard when people ask about how to learn to write comedy to find a way to talk about it! But Bob and Delphina are going to do their best today to break down their experience and approaches, and hopefully that’ll help you too.
