Wow it's June already? Time flies when youre having fun!

The past week I made a ton of plans with a lot of friends. Monday and Tuesday I got my summer bearings and started making plans with friends to accomplish my goal of making amazing memories with all of my friends. Wednesday I did a girl's day - (I dyed my hair red!!), makeup, facemasks, dyed hair, and took pictures of each other - Thursday I went hiking for the first time in a while with a friend, Friday I hung out with my boyfriend, Saturday I worked with resin and began working on a summer schedule, a meal and chore plan, as well as start to update my resumé, I took Sunday to look over my schedules with my family and then made my plans for this week. Monday I hung out with a friend and did some art.

Tomorrow I will do another hike, Wednesday will be movie night with some friends and my boyfriend, Thursday I have a sleepover planned, and Friday I might work, I have a graduation party on Saturday and might do some yard work for a woman I help often.

Ok ok I know I'm supposed to do this at least once a week, but I've been sick on and off and with finals I've been too mentally drained to try and construct an update. Forgive me for my wrong doings oh followers of the studyblr. I have exactly 1 (one) day left of school and I'm so ready to get my life together this summer. To have time for myself and my friends. To read books I love and learn new skills. Wish me luck kids! I'll keep you updated weekly from now on. (This means longer posts, but it'll be easier for me :))

The last week I have been very busy with my extracurriculars. My school's criminal Justice club had a murder mystery and I was a character so I had to be there. The same day, my art club had their banquet and award ceremony and since I'm an officer I had to be there for that too.

On top of this I had a fair amount of school work, mostly math and studying for my AP Euro final.

Last day of April, only a few weeks left! I saw endgame today (I promise no spoilers🤐) and was not disappointed! I only wish I had gone to the bathroom first haha!

Anyway I came home and did some math homework, and redid more of my notes for AP Euro. That doesn't sound like a lot but I have so many notes! I'm only on the 4th section! Hopefully it'll speed up soon, but until then it's a nice review. I'm going to sleep now, because that is something I need to live, but update: I miss showers (I haven't gotten one since Saturday because of all my productiveness) hopefully I can continue to be productive but also find time to shower!

I actually got a lot done today. I finished a screen play for creative writing which I didn't think I had worked on enough this past week to finish in time. I worked on this project with another writer in my class and I know for sure if I had had to do both this chart and the the shot by shot full descriptions I would not have finished this project.

Not only did I complete my screenplay, I also took a lot of notes for geometry and finished some of the homework. Homework in geometry has been a real struggle area for me. I find math comes naturally to me most of the time and so I never find the motivation to do homework because I don't need the extra practice for the tests.

On top of these two assignments, I have been working on presentations for my school's art club banquet this Thursday and slowly making my way through notes and missing assignments in AP Euro. All of this to say finals have descended, there are three weeks left and I've become such a busy bee!!

I didn't study for finals, but I was still productive

My back yard has been a serious mess for a very long time (a few years due to the lack of care from my mother's and my very busy schedules, but today I went out and pulled the weeds from the flowerbeds (we've had roots growing out from the tree outside of our yard that had grown way too tall) and swept the bricks. Together me and my mom moved the roses towards the trellis so that they can grow more towards the light. All of the bikes my family has are stored back on their hooks and we still have some work to do but it will be a garden again sometime in the future. We used to have a lilac bush but it has become diseased and needs to be removed. I only cleared a portion of the original patio so the other half will be a chore for another day. The garden is something that will be helpful for me over the summer. I suffer from depression and having to be in the sun for the garden will help me to manage it. (It's too dark now for a picture of it😔, but maybe once the whole thing has been more thoroughly purged of dirt and dead leaves😅 or after I clean the other parts)

Here's a before shot! I focused mostly on the corner and then pulled the closer one after. I had so many sticks and leaves to pull, but it was worth it to meet all the creatures taking care of the dirt for me. Supposedly we're getting snow tonight so Oreo (my cat) and I enjoyed our time outside before the cold weather came in. By the time I finished all this it was starting to get windy so my mom came out to help for a little bit. (That trash bag is filled with all of the twigs I had started to collect beforehand)

Just letting you know what's coming ;) piles of notes!!! An entire YEARS worth of GEOMETRY, AP EURO HISTORY, MAYBE BIOLOGY?, AND SOME OF MY FAVORITE ESSAYS/PROJECTS FROM THE YEAR. I decided to do a more reflective version of a studyblr due to my busy schedule and not having a proper desk, I study wherever and whenever which usually leads to me not taking pictures. My finished notes are very pleasing to me though so maybe you'll enjoy them? They're all handwritten so don't expect to read them😂

First assignment of the year!

Honestly, summer assignments can be a hassle, trying to cherish the last bit of summer and make time for school stuff? Not fun, but hey! At least it’s something to do right? Besides, its not like taking notes and writing essays is too hard, right?

WRITE TWO PERSONAL ESSAYS (and have people choose which one is better, don’t just settle on the first good one you write)

USE COLLEGE NICHE for research.

WRITE A LIST OF FUN FACTS ABOUT YOU/ THINGS THAT ARE HIGH PRIORITY TO BE KNOW ON YOUR APPLICATION (take a few months to write this list so you don’t miss anything)

APPLY EARLY ACTION ALWAYS (even if they don’t implicitly have early action just try to apply a week or two early) it shows more about you than you think and may put you in early running for scholarships

RESEARCH SCHOOLS WITH AUTOMATIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR YOUR GPA or SAT SCORES. Yes these exist.

APPLY TO SOME EXTRA SCHOOLS with no application fees and/ or essays, you never know you might end up liking it!

LOOK AT ESSAY PROMPTS FOR THAT YEAR WAYYYY BEFORE YOU START WRITING THEM.

LISTEN TO YOUR ESSAYS BEFORE YOU SUBMIT THEM WITH GOOGLE TRANSLATE ( especially your longer essays! )

WRITE A LIST OF WHAT YOU WANT FROM YOUR COLLEGE EXPERIENCE AT THE BEGINING OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS (this way you’re unbiased) and put that list away until it’s time to make your college decision. Whatever school you choose, if it matches what you had on that list, you had a successful application process :)

Have your guidance counselor or a person who’s been through the application’s number on hand ( Multiple contacts if you can). I PROMISE YOU THERE WILL BE ABOUT A MILLION TIME WHERE YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT THE HECK YOU’RE DOING AND THOSE DEADLINES WAIT ON NO ONE.

When I get home from class each afternoon, I’m usually exhausted, hungry, and not in the mood for buckling down and getting work done. But we all know that doing homework and studying right when we get home is way better than saving the work for late at night, or blowing it off all together. This afterschool routine will give you time to rewind from a long day and stay productive.

1. Right when you get home, bring your bag to your study space. Take out your planner and make a detailed list of everything you plan to accomplish in that afternoon and evening that is school-related.

2. In your study space, take out everything you need to accomplish these goals and put it all into one pile. (As you complete tasks, you can refile papers and put things back into your bag.)

3. Change into your comfy “at-home” clothes. It’s much more relaxing to be at home with fresh, soft clothing.

4. Get a snack and a drink. Eat before you start working, and use the time to chill, listen to music, and get pumped for productivity.

5. Go to your study space. All your materials should be laid out for you already, so all you have to do is turn off your phone, find a playlist, and get cracking!

6. Take a timed 5-minute break in between tasks. Use this time to refill your drink, stretch, use the restroom, and check your phone.

7. When it’s time for dinner or another scheduled activity, use that time as a mental break. Don’t rush to get back to work unless you know you’ll be pressed for time.

8. After eating dinner and leaving other commitments, finish up your work and then get ready for bed.

9. Take ten minutes to look over notes for the next day, tidy up, and get everything ready for the morning. 

10. Reward yourself for your productivity with Netfilx, pleasure-reading, or whatever else feeds your soul. Then, get a good night’s sleep!
