I like the idea that Sonic can be silent for hours but word vomits when he's nervous or catches the right moment. Shadow is a good listener...at least to people he respects. I HC it's a bad trait of his, walking away or leaving before someones finished talking because obviously he already knows this thing.

I think it's something they would both have to work on. Sonic might even have the opposite issue, never finishing or explaining enough...just running off.

a lil tropey sonadow warm up, before getting some more comic stuff going in the new year. This one's been sitting in my files for months.

I think over time he'd become fascinated by the strange things people say, given how often sonic just sits and listens to the world around him. At some point his "wtf are you talking about, that's a dumb thing to say" would turn into, "thats a weird thing to say. Why? tell me more. I need to understand everything."

I bet sonic would slap him with a "why do you think he said that? Really? huh." but never explaining, making shadow doubt himself and ask more just to prove he's exploring more perspectives.

Also continues my HC that he's accidentally romantic, despite himself haha. "is he into me?" Who knows, honestly.

A cat is a small creature in the middle of the food chain that is fully aware that you are a very large thing that could stomp its head in at any moment and yet it chooses to rest its tiny little head on your leg for a nap and spreads out on the floor near you exposing its belly and its most sensitive organs. It brings dead mice and bugs to you to share food.

Don’t you get it? This tiny thing trusts you. It wants to help you too. It licks your leg thinking that it’s helping. It kneads on you to find comfort. It shares its body warmth with you in the cold and gives you your space in the heat. It hisses at other mammals it sees outside including other cats in an effort to protect its family.

Cats love you so so much. But they will keep trying to eat plastic.
