It was quite awkward to see the look on his face after Nyall had finished talking, if felt like John’s brain could only understand a few words of he just said, and that was frustrating, the gap between them was visible, two totally different people trying to understand the picture inside the other’s head. Or at least was trying, until John made a joke about Nyall’s height. “Excuse me, did you just called me short? Cause I’m not into being called short by a guy who wears a button shirt with almost no buttons attached, thinking this is style and not low maintenance.” He replied while arms crossed and his face doing an angry pouting. When John said the ‘no offense’ for a moment Nyall wanted to throw something at him, five minutes sharing space with John and he was already thinking about homicide, that’s a good way to start. “I don’t need your discounts…” he siad those words but that was probably more his ego talking, Nyall had money but he wasn’t rich, in fact he would like a discount but after the conersation they just had, Nyall would feel better showing off and trying to play fancy. “I already told you, I want something to connect people, if I already knew what I wanted I wouldn’t be here, John, use your artistic aura or whatever.”
John snorted at Nyall’s bristled reaction and shook his head as he put his hands onto his hips. He most certainly did not dress for “style.” What a good chuckle that was. John sighed and looked the other man over again and then looked around his gallery before offering a tentative solution. “Sounds to me like you need to make ‘em tourists in your own restaurant. Make ‘em feel a little out of place but excite them enough that they don’t mind the displacement.” John paused before prodding Nyall in the chest. “Ya gotta make ‘em something that’s like magic for the food and I’ll make ‘em something like magic for their entertainment and seating. Every section could have its own piece. It’ll cost ya but I could make ya something special. Something like being on an excursion and all, but less gimmicky than those theme places. Nah, people come to your restaurant to feel alive and like they’re somewhere else. It’s not a meal, it’s an experience. How’s that sound to ya?”
