In the chaos of moving into your first house, there are two rules of the land:
1. always throw the red string down the stairs
2. praise this dork for “catching the red snake” and dragging it upstairs again
Seriously though, Salvatore has adjusted phenomenally. By the second or third day, it was very clear that this was his kingdom, not ours.

I don’t know that people would appreciate the artistry of this flawless “sinking into water” effect enough for it to warrant a full SDM post, so here, now you get to see it as a bonus.
Never before has clingwrap been used to such extraordinary effect.
Algorithm-based visibility + Tumblr’s lack of metrics for posts makes gauging peoples’ enjoyment really tricky.
^here, Velma represents the algorithm laughing at our confusion
These latest SDM posts have all had very low notes, even compared to what a normal non-Scooby episode-riffing would get... even though the posts are very standard for SDM, the visuals are traditional Hanna-Barbera, and the things found are what normally goes over quite well.
But when everything depends on where in someone’s feed a post is placed (if placed at all), how much it’s promoted to new people, and so on, it’s hard to judge what viewers actually think.
Comments have been good, follower count is fine, family and friends have felt the writing has been better than average... so the explanation could be anything, including:
1. People not finding the posts funny
2. People not liking stuff with characters they don’t know
3. People liking it, but still being less likely to heart it or share
4. The holiday week creating weird viewing habits
5. The algorithm randomly not showing posts as highly
6. People being less-likely to heart a post that has fewer notes than usual
7. Less engagement making the algorithm penalize posts extra, creating a negative cycle
8. Our robot overlords doing it for fun to mess with us
I was rushing so hard to get last night’s post out I totally forgot this gif I made – you’re welcome for the additional splendor/horror.
And here I was, taught by movies that it's only nighttime abandoned carnivals that are supposed to creep you out.
Meghan: "But I think you're gonna like Witch's Ghost more, it was always my favorite as a kid."
Me: "Does it have more shenanigans in it?"
Meghan: "There's a giant turkey."
Me: "...that's a start."
