Pic of the Day
This is a pic of the day taken by a current student at Semester at Sea. I definitely do not miss being on that ship but I really miss traveling to meet so many truly remarkable individuals with the most beautiful dreams.
Sunset in Indian Ocean- March 2012
The Blue Marble Blog
Red-Bellied Tamarin at the Singapore Zoo, one of the most phenomenal zoos I have ever been to.
It's so cute!!
A tiny puppy we found waiting just across the river from the Cat Tien National Park.
The Mutianyu Great Wall (the Great Wall of China)
Learning how to make dumplings from scratch from a small family in Beijing, China!
Ride through London!
The best part about long stretches at sea between countries? Amazing Escapades like the Sea Olympics.
Water-balloon fights, lip-syncs, cheering contests, synchronized swimming, and art contests all in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
Characters on an astronomical wheel in Jantar Mantar, in Jaipur, India. Jantar Mantar is a collection of astronomical instruments used for astrology, telling time, and predicting when eclipses would occur.
This was probably the cheapest and the best beer we found abroad. (A few people on the ship tried to find a way to get it shipped to the states)
This massive tree was found in the Cat Tien National Park in Vietnam on the way to Crocodile Lake. We tried to climb onto that bottom root, but it was too tall for us!
黒卵 -- black eggs in Japan!
In Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, you take a ropeway to the top of a mountain and hike to the sulphuric hot springs where they boil these eggs. The legend is that eating one egg gives you 7 extra years of life!
The map that tracks our travels around the globe (with bonus fun facts about each country)!
Things are looking up! (Hilo, Hawaii)
Hand-carved stamps for making fabrics in India
