Rhea turned away from her fuming alt, horrified. Are those the voices she thought she heard? They certainly were.
"C-children?! Get out of here! Go back to our world NOW. I will NOT allow you to be caught up in this and harmed!"
Obedience to their family was not the children's forte. Not when their obedience would entail throwing their loved ones' safety away for their own. But this situation? They had to try to keep BOTH of the same loved one alive. And given how feral both of the Rheas were, this was going to be complicated.
As their Rhea prepared to charge at her alternate, flames went up from Ariella's little arm, and a wall of fire went up between the dragonesses. The wall would be deadly to mortals, but would not be able to stop the fighting between angry, territorial, disguised dragonesses. But maybe it would buy them time to talk sense into their aunts.
"We are NOT leaving without you, Aunt Rhea! And we do not want to attack this world's Rhea either!" Ariella squeaked yelled. She hated how her voice squeaked when she was emotional.
"You two are both Rhea." Ariella continued. "Both our Aunt Rhea. And we love you both. That's why we came here. We just wanted to meet you, Lady Rhea." Ari wasn't going to drop the formalities with the new Rhea yet, just in case. "This is our fault - no, this is my fault, as I opened the portal - so...if you must hurt someone, kill me." Ariella wrapped more walls of fire around Sylvestre and her own Rhea, to protect them, and spread her arms out, palms empty, steeling herself to take the agonizing pain of her alt-aunt's wrath. It would not soundproof Ariella's family's screaming and protests at her attempted self-sacrifice, though.
And it would not stop their Rhea from running right through those walls, ignoring her burns in the heat of adrenaline and maternal instinct.
"NO! I WILL NOT ALLOW THIS!" Rhea roared. "If you lay as much as a finger on either of my children, I will rip your sorry spine from your body and impale you on it! This fight is just between us! It was my failure as an aunt to let them come here, after all!"
Sylvestre couldn't break past the walls of protective fire. Really, given how strong the Rheas were, it would be more of a cage than a shield if they lost control of their anger right here in the Audience Chamber. Still, he yelled out over their Rhea's now feral and barely coherent threats to her alternate.
"You know what we require? We want you to stop fighting and hear us out! We only came here because we love you, we love you both. We just wanted to meet more of the aunt we love so much!!"
