Oooo, uncle-niece bonding! 😍😍😍 But what happens when the uncle disappears, I wonder... if it's anything like my poisonous plants AU, no one sees the niece for a very long time either. Of course, there were bricks thrown in Poisonous plants, and a lot of trauma because of that and other incidents, but I don't think that's going to happen here... then again, maybe Bruno just takes her with him...? Ehehe, time to start speculating.
Even though it killed Bruno inside, he left Isabela behind without telling her. He knew that if he told her beforehand, it would be even more difficult for him to leave. There was also a chance she would want to stay with him and he couldn’t do that to Julieta after everything that happened with Mirabel...he figured his nieces would be better off without him.
Isabela was utterly heartbroken when it became clear he left them. Still, she never really stopped looking for Bruno because not seeing him in her room gave her a little bit of hope.
Because of Bruno’s sudden disappearance and Julieta and Agustín’s focus fully on Mirabel, Isabela was unintentionally pushed aside by her parents...despite Dolores’ attempts to help her, Isabela became even more closed off than she already was.
Instead, Isabela chose to turn go to the spirits for support in these trying times because they actually understood her. More than her own family. After spending so much time together, they knew her the best and basically helped with raising her. (Much to the family’s chagrin) Especially one spirit in particular who seemed to care about Isabela a bit more than the rest 👀
The Angel of Death AU
The ceremony
Everything was going perfectly but things went south when Isabela finally touched the doorknob
When the magic lit up the door, all the lights in the house flickered and a chilly gust of wind blew through Casita
Few seconds later, Isabela’s new gift was revealed which earned a bunch of horrified gasps amongst the otherwise deadly silent audience
After all, none of them ever expected to see a depiction of death looming over Isabela’s tiny silhouette engraved on the door
The villagers began whispering between each other, some of them in a hurry to leave as soon as possible
Even Alma was caught off guard and the rest of the family was equally shocked by the revelation
Isabela glanced back at her parents, looking for some kind of reassurance that everything was okay…but judging by the looks on their face, something had to be terribly wrong. She just didn’t understand what was the issue because that thing on the door wasn’t scary
Still, she was growing more and more nervous. Luckily, it didn’t last long because Alma was the first one to snap out of it and hesitantly urged her to go on
When she opened the door, she was greeted by a familiar cool breeze that made her skin tingle.
From where she was standing, the room was pitch black and she could hear faint voices coming from inside. It didn’t scare her one bit and she went inside without a second thought to satisfy her curiosity
Tiny specks of light appeared out of thin air, navigating her deeper into the room. Isabela ignored her family’s please to come and instead focused on the soft murmur that only seemed to get louder the further she got
It took her a while but she eventually realized that what she heard was actually people talking over each other. About her
Some of those voices were familiar, some were not…but she decided to strike up a conversation with them anyway. Eventually they all showed themselves to her.
Isabela wasn’t really surprised when she found out that she’d been talking to people who had passed away…deep down, she just knew
She wasn’t ready to leave until she heard her mamá calling her name…and even then, the spirits literally had to convince her to go back to her family
When Isabela finally returned, she certainly wasn’t expecting to see her mamá on the ground…pale, trembling and utterly exhausted
As it turned out, she followed Isabela but didn’t make it far because the room drained all her energy
Seeing her mamá hurt and knowing her gift was to blame scared Isabela. A lot. Which was why she either slept in the nursery or with her parents for the next few days…
But she started to miss her newfound friends, so she occasionally sneaked in for a couple of minutes without anyone knowing
Eventually, Isabela got to explain what she saw in there and what her gift was
Needless to say, the family was wary of Isabela’s new ability to talk to the dead. Little did they know, it wasn’t the only thing she was capable of…
I decided to split this into more parts, so there’s a lot more to come

In the sacrifice AU, dire Isabela still get a Gift, out does Alma veto that since "she's only going to die anyway, so [they] might as well save the magic for someone who could actually use it."
Although Alma never cared enough to hold a ceremony for Isabela, she actually does get a gift after sneaking out in the middle of the night on her birthday. She tried to keep it a secret but they eventually find out and Alma was absolutely perplexed...how or why it happened remained a mystery for a really long time.
Her gift might or might not be different from canon tho 👀
I know, I know...no one asked but I’m still not giving up on rewriting What else can I do? I’m trying but my current pace is a couple of sentences per month. IT IS NOT ABANDONED, I PROMISE. (I hate writer’s block with burning passion lol)

What Else Can I Do?
I've been stuck on writer's blocks for months now and I really want to rewrite this, so it makes more sense and expand it a little...but I really can't promise anything right now. I hope it gets finished one day, though.
Summary: Isabela finally got the life of her dreams, her powers growing stronger than ever. When Isabela’s magic takes a dark turn, things start to get out of hand but she still finds herself drawn to it. Now, the family has to race against time to figure out how to save Isabela before she loses herself forever.
Grandkid Round Up
Summary: A story about Alma trying to deal with losing one of her grandkids.

Sacrifice AU
A few plot points of my AU where a sacrifice has to be made every now and then to keep the miracle alive.
Dolores: Camilo and Isabela haven’t stopped staring through the window since Mama’s storm started.
Dolores: I guess I should let them in
Sacrifice AU
This is something I’ve always wanted to write but I’m not entirely sure people would like it, so I decided to post it here… Just a heads up, there are mention of sensitive topics so proceed with caution. Yes, I know. My mind is messed up.
Pedro still sacrificed himself to save his family
Everything was relatively fine until the triplets were about to turn five
The candle (and Casita too) showed what had to be done during the ceremony, so the triples would get the gifts
That wasn’t the only thing Alma found out that day. The candle asked for a new sacrifice, so the magic would prevail: The firstborn of every other generation was meant to die once they reached adulthood
Alma put it in the back of her mind as that wouldn’t concern her for a few decades
Unfortunately, the “miracle” kept reminding her of her future duties that Alma eventually succumbed to its requests and agreed to do it. ‘’To protect the magic and the town’’ - at least, that’s what she told herself (more on that later)
She kept it a secret for a really long time, until she couldn’t hide it anymore when Pepa and Julieta announced their pregnancies
Both of them were horrified that she said it so nonchalantly and was actually willing to do it
At first, there was a certain tension between Julieta and Pepa. They were both on edge since neither of them wanted to give up their child one day
It took them some time to reconcile and once they did, they began scheming
Pepa and Julieta (along with Bruno, Félix and Agustín) did their best to come up with a plan to get out of that situation, but all their attempts to escape turned out to be futile as the magic surrounding Encanto was working against them
Alma knew about everything that happened in town and kept them on a leash (figuratively)
They basically became prisoners in their own home; they rarely got to leave without someone watching over them
Later, Julieta finally gave birth to Isabela and that was when things got much worse
Julieta’s first moments as a mother were ruined by Alma’s speech about the future and how she shouldn’t get attached to her newborn daughter
Naturally, Julieta did the exact opposite and tried to shield Isabela from Alma’s indifference…sadly, she couldn’t defend her from everything
Pepa was secretly glad that she wasn’t the first one to give birth and she hated herself for it; tried to make it up by helping her niece and sister as much as she could
Alma made it clear to Isabela that she was merely there to be sacrificed for the ‘’good of the family’’ and she eventually succeeded in making Isabela believe that was the only reason why she existed
Despite all that brainwashing, Isabela still wanted to live although things seemed hopeless. Leaving the world earlier than she was supposed would only pass the duty onto Dolores and she didn’t want that…leaving Encanto wasn’t exactly an option either, so Isabela didn’t really have a choice but to accept her fate
Alma acknowledged Isabela’s existence only when it was convenient for her and when she did, things got pretty ugly.
The town treated Isabela like garbage, thanks to Alma’s influence over the villagers
Alma managed to get Camilo on her side and occasionally Luisa since she had both of them under control
Isabela still had her parents and Dolores on her side…and years later, she had Mirabel too
Mirabel’s failed ceremony only fueled Alma’s urgency to do the ritual and her hateful behavior towards her oldest grandchild escalated
Alma was not happy when Mirabel straight up told her that she’d rather not have a gift than losing her sister…She tried to pit Mirabel against Isabela to no avail
Despite their disagreements, Alma still favored all the other grankids to Isabela. Dolores or Mirabel weren’t
There were lots of conflicts between Agustín, Julieta and Alma…and between the grandkids as well
If there’s at least one person that likes this, please let me know. Posting this is actually super scary lmao
