Clear card ending yap sesh incoming 😔
If clamp does decide to continue with another sequel of ccs (because with the way it left off it feels like they’re implying that the story is going to continue and clear card has left us with some unanswered questions as well) I wonder if the series is going to get darker as the series goes on and our characters get older?
I say this because I remember reading in an interview with clamp that Cardcaptor Sakura wasn’t like their usual works and that they usually have much darker themes in their stories. (And from what I’ve seen this is definitely true 😅) I feel like clear card definitely tackled more sensitive or harsh topics compared to the original series…such as child neglect, abuse, depression, and how it affects people even into adulthood, which I think was quite the jump compared to the og story.
Also, our characters are becoming more and more mature as the story progresses, are learning new things about themselves and their magic, and taking on new obstacles. (I feel this is the most apparent in Syaoran after he comes back from Hong Kong) We also know that Sakura is simply getting stronger everyday in terms of magic, so that also makes me wonder if they’re going to show how it takes a toll on her mentally or physically. Which is kinda concerning seeing how having too much power at a young age can affect someone’s mind with K*ito
We already know Sakura has great difficulty with being able to control her magic properly (and that also brings up another question “will she be able to control it?” Or “will someone have to teach her how? If so who?”) and it’s clear that she feels a lot of guilt about it, and it doesn’t help that Sakura is a very self sacrificial person who’s always putting others feelings and health above her own. So I wonder if they’re going to go deeper into that and how it affects her and her magic. Will her magic continue to spin out of control? To the point where it starts to hurt her and put her in danger?
Also, Syaoran seems to have some unhealthy coping mechanisms as well. Instead of choosing to show how he truly feels he blocks it all out and puts on a front, hiding his true emotions with a smile. (Honestly wonder if that’s something he picked up from Sakura LOL) and pushes himself to his absolute limit to protect everyone around him. He tries to tackle everything on his own, and as I’m writing this im starting to see more and more similarities between Syaoran and Sakura. 😭
Theres just a lot of questions about how deep they’re gonna decide to go, and again SO many questions. Will Akiho ever help k*ito resume his time? Will he actually teach Syaoran time magic? Will there be other clans in the future that come in and trys to ruin everything? Seeing how Sakura is so powerful I’m sure there’s a lot of people trying to get her on their side or try to manipulate her, as we’ve seen just how sick certain individuals are in the magic world. (though I’m not too worried about that because she has THE strongest support system) WILL WE EVER KNOW THE LORE ON SYAORANS FATHER??? BECAUSE I WANT TO KNOW SO FREAKING BADD.
Though I’m kinda leaning on the theory I saw someone make that something happened to Syaorans father regarding having too much magical power based on these manga panels! (Maybe that’s the reason his mother stressed to him how important control over your abilities are!)
I also remember in the anime while Kero and Yue are talking about Sakura and her going back in time, Kero says something along the lines of “there’s only been 3 people powerful enough to go back in time, clow reed and….two others..” and it panned into Yue and Keros faces and it seemed veryyy dramatic, and I don’t think they ever named those two in the manga? (If they have pls correct me) So is there new lore we’re going to find out in the anime??
But yeah I just NEEDED to ramble about that because it’s been on my mind for a whileee, and even if they don’t do another sequel, I hope these questions are still answered at some point in an interview!
