I’m happy to share that The Tobacconist is now playing virtually in independent theaters across the US. I had the honor of assisting with additional orchestration and arrangements for the film’s score, as well as performing and co-writing the song “Underwater” with composer Matthias Weber for the end credits. It’s been a long wait for the film to arrive in the US, and I’m really proud to be a part of this beautiful story about a young man who befriends Dr. Sigmund Freud (played by the late, great Bruno Ganz) in Vienna during the Nazi occupation at the outbreak of WWII. Most of these theaters that are showing the film are closed for in-person viewing, of course, but with these virtual screenings you can buy a ticket and watch the film in the comfort and safety of your own home. The best part is that your ticket purchase will still go to supporting the independent theater of your choice near you. Lots of these theaters are struggling in the current situation, and this is a great way to help brick and mortar, independent cinemas alive. I’m very happy to announce another show opening the evening for cellist and multimedia artist @xcellistax in support of her new work #Transfigurations. I’ll be performing at Highways Performance Space @highwaysps in Santa Monica on Friday March 27th at 8:30pm. It’s a beautiful place to perform, and I’m so excited to have another opportunity to perform music from Orca paired with Cassandra Renner’s (@littlepapercass) animated watercolors.
