I feel that I had to share this on every platform I have. All my days I've supported Rangers but after they today released a kit imprinted with a union jack I no longer feel like they're a club I can edge my allegiance to. It was never easy being a Catholic Rangers fan but I put that to the side and ignored the bigotry (sometimes directed at myself). However; this is a slap in the face of every fan who is voting Yes to independence. Here is the email I sent them. - " I've spent my whole life supporting Rangers. Despite a family.of Celtic fans and strong Irish Catholic heritage I put allthe bigotry out the window and support Scotland's greatest TEAM. I grew up and went to Catholic School and surrounded by Celtic fans proudly supported my TEAM. I went to Ibrox regularly and was abused on more than one occasion because of my heritage and surname (O'Connor) but still battled through because I loved my TEAM. But today; as the CLUB unveils the new third kit I think my love affair is over. After puting up with years of abuse I battled through for the red, white and blue of Rangers. But now, the CLUB has released a top with the Union Jack imprinted on it. This is a slap in the face of every single Rangers fan who identifies themselves as Scottish and who intends to vote Yes in September. The CLUB has received lots of money from people like me, money we didnt really have to spare and now this is our reward. Rangers were always a good Scottish team but now the club has endorsed a union which has wrecked havoc on many countries and ergo alienated many many fans. Politics has no place in football but now the club has made such a bold statement with this top in such an important time in Scotland's history, I think it's time me and all the other Yes voting Rangers fans took our support; or at least our financial support, elsewhere."
