Just a prank
“Oh come on, I wouldn’t have the problem with that.” Yuki said with a smile. “I think you’re sweet and attractive. You make amazing art and you’re easy to talk to. Why on earth wouldn’t someone want to be with you?” She blushed and looked down at her delicate hands. “I-I would.”
‘That’s very sweet of you to say. But it’s no that much of a deal… I’ll find someone eventually who will love me despite it.’ He wiped away some ink and smiled at her.’ Well you’re one of the few I’ve meet.’ He couldn’t help but to feel happy at that. He was beginning to really like her.
Yuki smiled shyly. “Well I uhh… I’d like to try… if you’ll let me?” she asked, sucking on her lower lip before looking down timidly. “Sorry… I ‘ve never asked someone out before.”
He smiled and stopped to look up at her.’You’d honestly like to go out with me?’ He was a little surprised at that.’ Well I suppose we could go on at least one date..’
Yuki glowed. “Really?! Yay!” She clapped her hands excitedly. “I have to confess actually… Matteo originally sent me to you cuz he knew I’d like you… um…. so yea…”
He smiled at that.’Well I’ll have to thank him for sending you my way. What should we do and when are you free to go on that date?’ He asked before starting to work again.
Yuki giggled and grinned before humming. “When ever you feel like it, darlin,” she said with a slight country twange. “I’m recording a country themed album for a friend’s birthday tromorrow but how about after we go to the amusement park or something?”
‘You sing? I’d love to hear it sometimes.’ He smiled and finished up.’ Yeah the amusement park sounds good to me.’
Yuki beamed and then looked down at her tattoo. “It’s beautiful, Sev, thank you,” she murmured.
He grinned and cleaned it up before cleaning his station up.’So where and what time should I get you?”
Yuki smiled and wrote the address and time. “Here,” she said as she handed it to Sev.
He grinned and took it.‘Ill see you tomorrow then.’ Be finished putting everything away.
Yuki giggled and kissed Sev’s cheek.
The next day, someone had to tell Sev to just come on in because she was going to be late. She was in the recording booth, singing her heart out like a true song bird.
“Vandalize You left an aching in me You paralyze Meduse enstone me
Keep my heart from beating And push away all fate You’re such a cruel atrist You vandalize me”
Sev came in and smiled as he listened to her sing. He had a great respect for singers. He waited patiently for her to finish up. He was excited and had actually brought her a little thing of flowers.
Yuki finished up and smiled shyly as she waved. She recorded one more version and then came outside the booth. “Hi,” she said timidly. “Um, I have one more song and then we can go, I’m sorry.” She noticed the flowers and blushed shyly.
’ That’s fine with me. I can wait a few more minutes. We’re not missing anything.’ He smiled at her.
Yami smiled happily and walked back inside, swapping her electric guitar for an acoustic and began to sing a gentle ballad.
“Well I know they say all good things Must come to some kind of ending But we were so damn good I guess we never stood a chance.
Go on and find what you’ve been missin And when that high ways tired a listenin You’ll see I’m not that easy to forget…”
Sev smiled and happily listened to her sing. It was beautiful and he found himself liking it, usually he wouldn’t give softer music a chance. He watched her expression and found himself truly beginning to fall for her.
Yami, or Yuki, smiled shyly and then put away her guitar. He was beginning to feel a little sick- he didn’t want to do this prank anymore. He genuinely liked Sev and who the fuck CARED about some shitty paint? By lying he really was just leading the other on… He swallowed and brushed te uncertainty off to bounce out of the recording booth. “Ok! All finished! Sorry for the wait!”
‘It’s ok, I didn’t mind waiting. You have a lovely singing voice.’ He smiled and handed the flowers over.” Are you ready to go?”
Blushing, she squeezed the flowers to her chest with a shy nod. “Mm hm. Little nervous though.” She nuzzled the flowers and swallowed. “S-so you got a specific desire for today?”
There’s no reason to be nervous. I’m not gonna bite.’ He grinned.’Well it might be a cheesy first date but the amusement park is still in town..how’s that?”
Yami smiled shakily. “S-sorry… first date jitters.” She said softly, looking downwards and swallowing before brightening. “Ohhh!!!! Yes please!!! I love amusement parks!”
He grinned at her.’ I don’t know about you but I love to play the games more than going on the rides.”
Just a prank

Alrighty
I think it’s safe to say this blog is dying
Sev carefully walked out with the painting and had a grin on his face his entire way home.Soon saturday came and Sev had texted Jet to make sure he would be able to find his place.
Text: the apartment complex 1 block down from Tully’s barbershop. Number 589 with wind chimes.
Jet was finishing his hair as he debated which shirt to wear. He sent a picture to Mae’s phone and asked her the red or the black. She answered the red one, because Jet’s always wearing black & white. He some color every once in a while. Jet put on the wine red button up shirt and took a deep breath.
[Text] You are correct!
Sev grinned to himself and finished getting ready. He sat down and tried to calm himself down. He really liked Het and was unfortunately thinking of all the things that could wrong on this date. He knew though that he had no reason to worry, he just couldn’t help it.
Jet drove to Sev’s apartment grabbed something that was sitting at the driver’s seat. He took one more breath and knocked on the door with a red rose in his hand.
He opened the door and smiled at him before signing to him.’ Hey Jet.’ He glanced at the rise and blushed softly.’ Did you get that for me?’
The stem was cut short because Jet snagged it from a florist’s cart. It was a last minute idea that was rushed. Jet nodded and carefully placed the rose onto Sev’s shirt like a pin, ‘You look good, are you ready?’ He went to the car and opened the passenger door for Sev.
He smiled and thanked him before nodding and following him out. He got in and buckled up, waiting for him to get in.’ You look nice tonight.’
‘Thank you,’ Jet started the engine and drove them to the restaurant. When they got there, he told the host about their reservation and helped Sev to his seat next to the window. A busboy handed them the menus before pouring them glasses of water. ‘Get whatever you’d like, it’s on me,’ Jet opened the menu.
He nodded with a small smile and looked everything over.In a few minutes he had what he wanted picked out and he waited for Jet to decide as well.
When the busboy came back Jet ordered the manicotti then asked Sev, ‘What would you like?’
He signed what he wanted to him, which ended up being spaghetti.’ So tell me about yourself.’
Jet translated Sev’s choice to the busboy and returned his attention to his date. ‘Not much, really, I still live with my family. I mostly work at my sister’s shop but I also do odd jobs here and there.’ Another busboy served them some coffee before Jet added a little sugar to his, keeping it black. ‘I like doing sculpture and playing my instruments. What about you, where are you from?’
‘Well I was born and raised in New York. I’ve always been mute it’s a gasssle sometimes but whatever.’ He poured sugar and creamer into his own coffee.’ I have a half brother in California. I just met him last year and he’s great. And I moved here to experience new things.’
A waitress popped by with sweet rolls. ‘I have two brothers,’ Jet placed a roll on Sev’s plate then his. ‘You’ll love Night Vale. It has its hot spots but there’s a lot of wonders to make up for it.’ He took a bite of his roll, ‘Mae and I went to New York a while back to visit the Metropolitan. We’ve also visited California.’
He smiled and thanked him for the roll.’Both places have their own beauty but thats not where I wanted to be while trying to find myself you know?’ He smiled at that.’I should make a trip out to see him soon.’
Jet took a sip of his coffee, ‘Maybe he can visit Night Vale sometime.’ The busboy that took their order returned with their dinner. ‘What do you do for a hobby?’
“ I should invite something.” He grinned at the question.’ Training to become a tattoo artist.’
‘That’s awesome!’ Jet took a few bites of his manicotti, ‘Mae told me about the tattoo parlour looking for more artists.’ He lifted his sleeve and he showed a tattoo on his forearm. They looked like patterned claw marks. ‘I got these for my siblings, each scratch represents a different one.’
‘Really?’ He grinned at that.’ Maybe I should go by there.’ He ate a little of his food too.’ That’s awesome it looks great.’ He admired the tattoo.’ My only worry is the communication barrier..’
That gave Jet an idea, ‘Sorry if this seems too forward, but I can help with that.’ He finished his meal. ‘I won’t mind translating for you. I can even make a sketch for you to use.’
He smiled.” Well I meant the communication with customers. I couldn’t ask you to keep coming there every time I need to talk to someone about their piece..’
Jet laughed, ‘I don’t do much, other than help my sister and make stuff out of scrap metal.’ He thought back to wear he had some arguments with customers. ‘I’d be able to use this sign, anyway!’ Jet showed his middle finger, ‘I can’t do this at Mae’s shop.’
He smiled and shook his head.’ I just feel like it would be a lot to ask of you.’
Sev carefully walked out with the painting and had a grin on his face his entire way home.Soon saturday came and Sev had texted Jet to make sure he would be able to find his place.

Sev carefully walked out with the painting and had a grin on his face his entire way home.Soon saturday came and Sev had texted Jet to make sure he would be able to find his place.

Jet was finishing his hair as he debated which shirt to wear. He sent a picture to Mae’s phone and asked her the red or the black. She answered the red one, because Jet’s always wearing black & white. He some color every once in a while. Jet put on the wine red button up shirt and took a deep breath.

A Number of Ages and a Lifetime Ago
The sun had reached high noon with its heat barring down upon the dusty air. Tumble weeds whispered of seasons and sand grains gone by. The cactus in the garden stretched for the fiery rays of light. A little desert town called Night Vale was relishing this dry peace. It wasn’t much for one resident though. A young woman sitting on the porch, painting on a canvas, sighed with a stroke of sky blue. It was a slow day at her shop so she sat outside, capturing a landscape of the street. The sign above her squeaked it’s rusty clasps as “Mae’s Emporium” swung with the breeze.

Chris had been living within the strange little town for a number of months now and had always found himself around the shop.He knew it had to be because of Mae herself. There was something about the woman and he was determined to get it figured out.” Hey Mae, what are you painting today?” He smiled at her and stood on the porch near her but not in a way that obstructed her view.
“Just the block,” Mae finished the sky and dropped the brush in a jar of water. “Not many changes though, Tully’s sign needs some recoloring.” She pointed to the sign on the portrait then at Tully’s barbershop. “It looks very faded out.” From a previous painting, Tully had put up a new sign that was bright and colorful for the whole town to see. Now it’s faded after three years in the sun. “I told him to keep it under some shade if he wanted the color to last longer,” Mae shrugged and stood, “but Tully never listens.” She wiped her messy hands on a cloth that’s been stained with paint from her lifetime, “So how are you today?”
“Hey if he wants to waste money replacing the sigh every few years let him.” He shrugged and gave a smile.” Well can I sneak a look at it? I love your paintings.” He watched her clean herself up.”Can’t complain, same as usual. Can’t seem to pick a way that I like my place set up.I swear every week or so I change it.” he chuckled.”And you? Had a good so far?”
Mae nodded and packed up the paint tubes with her back to the portrait and easel, “Sure.” She let Chris have the seat in front of the painting, “It’s been slow so I’m bored. Need some help redecorating?”
“Beautiful as always.” He grinned as he looked it over.” Yeah I would love hell but then I’d feel bad if and when I were to change it all up again. I just can’t figure out what the issue is.”
Mae turned to grab the water jar, took out the brushes and dumped the water over the rail. “You never know what may be the problem is until you get a second opinion,” she tapped her brushes on the rail to drain the brushes.
“True, maybe someone else’s opinion could really help me out.” He nodded and smiled softly.”When would you be free to come check everything out?”
Mae wiped the brushes on her apron, “I have tomorrow off.” She packed them with the paint tubes, “Will you take that stool back into the shop for me, please?” Mae picked up her pack of paint supplies and propped the door open for Chris. She entered and placed her supplies on the counter.

“Yeah tomorrow is fine with me.” He nodded, picking up the stool and putting it in its spot inside. He glanced around at the new finds a bit before looking over at her.” So how has everything been lately? Anything new and exciting?”
Mae hung the painting to dry and put away the easel, “We got some new mood rings but that’s it.” The newest ring collection wasn’t like the average mood ring. If the wearer was in love the ring would glow bright purple. If deeply hurt it’d turn black. The rest of the colors were the standard for other moods like blue for sadness, red for anger and so on.
“Oh yeah?” He asked curiously and put one on, assuming they were the same ones out when he was young. However the one he put on glowed a very bright, noticeable purple.” Uh What’s this color mean?” He looked over at her.
As that ring was glowing purple Jet’s eyes were blasting a nasty bright green. Mae looked at the ring with a big smile, “You didn’t tell me you’re seeing someone!” Obviously, oblivious, the poor girl. “That color is for love. Who is she?” Jet came from around the corner with a handful of vintage clothes, “Yeah, Chris, who is she?” He kept staring down at the fool.
“I’m not seeing anyone.” He froze as he was told the color and went to take the ring off, nearly getting it stuck when Jet appeared with the clothing.” No one I’m honestly not seeing anyone.” He put the ring back where he found it.” I-uh gotta go, I just remembered there was something at home that needs my attention.” He gave a smile and quick wave before quickly exiting the shop.
Mae cracked up laughing as Chris left. “He’s a terrible liar!” That flustered expression on his face was priceless! “Someone’s got him wrapped around their finger!!” Jet just rolled his eyes and shook his head, “I wonder who it is…”
The next day, Mae stopped by Chris’s apartment. She didn’t trade numbers with him and since Night Vale is so small he wasn’t hard to find. The girl knocked on the door then checked her watch. It was after 1pm so Chris had to be awake and at the apartment. Mae felt bad for barging in like this but she promised to help.
He didn’t know why Jet made him so nervous and uneasy. He was twice his age for God’s sake. Perhaps someday he’d admit his feelings for Mae but that day was not today.
The next day he had actually taken all his decorations down and placed them off to the side so they could go back up when the furniture was moved around. He opened the door and grinned.” Hey Mae, thanks for coming over I really appreciate it.”
Sev carefully walked out with the painting and had a grin on his face his entire way home.Soon saturday came and Sev had texted Jet to make sure he would be able to find his place.
