"Happiness is only real when shared” - Christopher McCandless
Getting Know Yourself part 2
Before I started to my odyssey, I thought that I knew everything about my personality. I am ambitious, independent, stubborn and a dreamer. In fact, there are two more things; I am selfish and I can be wrong sometimes. I killed a moose today. It was huge and I was so hungry that I couldn't stopped. As I was facing with the hardships of Alaska again, I came one more step closer to actual me. I am still discovering my self. When I see the giant moose, I only dreamed about eating his meat and being happy for another 3 months but never thought about preserving the meat.
I watched moose's moaning and death, I couldn't stopped my tears. I hesitated as the animal collapsed. For a moment, I was a cannibal and a murderer. My existence in nature costed a life. Being responsible for that and seeing myself as this selfish made me realize one more thing.
Was I actually selfish towards my family like I was selfish to the Moose?
make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty.

Nature vs. Character
Reading novels, fiction books, stories.. I grew up reading books and imagining them in my mind. Through my college life, I read Jack London and Tolstoy and imagined their ideologies, their experiences in me. What if I were in the North as London? What if I live in destitute like Tolstoy? I always embraced those lifestyles in my mind without noticing it. However, as I was thinking about living like London and Tolstoy I was sure that I can do this. It is not that hard to adapt to nature, what I said to Alex. For me, achieving to live in 20th century could make you a master to live in the forest and in the wilderness in fact it was the opposite. Living in a modernized world, where there are smart phones, smart computers but stupid people, loses your common senses. So I was homeless, moneyless and destitute in the wilderness.
In London's book, characters always lost against nature. They never made it. In "Build A Fire" the man has died because he was lack of instincts and the brutal won, because he knew what the nature is all about. All I wanted was to create my own non-fiction story and be the master of my own destiny. I am good with nature, I even found a bus which I called a magic bus to endure my life during Alaska. It is so magical to see the actual things beyond the novels. However, novels are the expressions of experiences not truly them which I understood lately. Even though I am proud of myself again, and I am not abandoned all of my hopes yet. I will win against nature, and wrote a book about it.

I am not definitely going to study law!
I was surprised, as always, by how easy the act of leaving was, and how good it felt. The world was suddenly rich with possibility.

Getting Know Yourself
As I graduated from Emory, things have been changed in my life. I have realized that it was the time where I can discover my own identity. Until now, there was always been an obstacle between the real Chris McCandless and the one who was made up of from society; my family. Their dreams and desires about my future, disabled me to know my self better. To be honest, in every moment of my life their thoughts and decisions were more important than mine, because I was so convinced that they were my parents and it is impossible for them to do bad things for me however, they were pulling me downwards. I cared their feelings so much that I didn't even think about studying somewhere else. They said Emory and I said fine, but I am not proud of myself for letting them to do this. I am ambitious and I don't like authorities however, they continued being an authority in my life. They are control freaks! Therefore, I gave a decision that I am going to forsake all the things in my life that they cared so much for. An ideal life filled with richness and a career that will make me shine in my entire life. I am ready to listen my own heart and ready to make big changes. For a first step (against my parents) I donated my savings to OXFAM. Some people needs that money, not me and the school that I am going to study law.
