Welp, we got an official Shrek 5 trailer.....

Before addressing the elephant in the room, I find it weird that the trailer was led by Donkey. We barely got any lines of dialogue from Shrek or Fiona.

The two things I liked about the trailer, is one the story book being a homage to the original Shrek books, and the jab to Frozen's "Wanna Build a Snowman".

OKAY, for the animation.....why can't they just stick to the original artstyle. If you're not gonna use Puss in Boots: The Last Wish's artstyle, then go back to basics and use the 2001 CGI animation. I don't understand why they went with a glossy, and weird redesigns of the Shrek characters.

I still MIGHT watch it in theatres, because who knows, it might pull a PIB: TLW. But, I doubt it since it looks like it's just Shrek and his family catching up to Felicia since she left to pursue magic which Shrek doesn't want her to do, then at the end, Shrek becomes more understanding of his daugther and LETS HER GO AS SHE IS OLDER AND FREE...yikes

I get so emotional thinking about fictional characters that so desperately wanted to be loved but in their canon works never were or never felt like they were but in their fandom they are so unbelievably cared for like imagine you felt so unloved in your life but in another universe millions of people loved you so much they analysed you with their friends and made art of you and wrote stories about you and made plushies of you all because of how much they needed to express their love for you but there was no way for you to ever know
