Will Shuichi ever have all of his memories unlocked? Including the ones from before the hospital
He really doesn’t want them. At all. But tbh he probably already has Some. (Fic Spoilers under the cut)
Despite Makoto probably having offered once everything settled down, Shuichi wouldn’t want to get his earliest memories back. He knows enough about what happened, he knows he was taken advantage of when he was still uhhhh new. Fresh. He knows Izuru had him and then Tsumugi had him and then his memories really start to feel clear once he had moved to the hospital for Kaede. He doesn’t want any of those memories, he kind of hates thinking about it. He’s glad he doesn’t consciously remember everything they taught him because he knows he’d overthink how it’s affecting him even now.
But he probably still has some, vague ones, like weird dreams almost. A dark room with a little cot and books, being sat at a table and having his hair trimmed, maybe, blurry visuals and no clear voices, like trying to remember a dream you had a year ago.
“Can they pass their power to future possible kids? Is it genetic?”
Everytime someone asks a question like this it makes me giggle because of the army of super powered kids I have already shared priv with you
Literally imagine me reading questions like this and then slowly looking over at a list of all your super powered fankids that’s long enough to fill a baseball team roster at this point and just kind of nodding to myself like mmhm… mmhm… perhaps it is possible….
how much 78 gang can remember their past? are they all japanese or they are from other nationalities? were they made like test tube babies or they were normal babies until experiments began?
how much naegis know about whats happening to their son? since komaru sure knows whats happening maybe they are too?
if im not making things up in my mind (reading too much in a single day kinda does that to me) they gave makoto junko's powers after she seemed failure. what was his power before that? i would like to think it was something like nagito's because how he is supposed to be 'what happened if makoto turned dark'
junko didnt seem to suffer from using her powers as much as makoto did (i mean how often he could use it without being someone's punching bag anyway? no wonder he hates it so much) does that mean their power isnt exactly the same? how much their emotions effect their powers? does makoto have to keep touching people for it can he do it from far with enough practise?
can they (basically anyone with an ultimate) pass their power to their possible future kids? is it genetic?

But HERE WE GO:

Basically nothing, Hiro is really the only one who gets more than like, a vague feeling of something, and that’s just because he was older when they forced him to forget. But even he mostly remembers it more like you would remember a dream or nightmare, he remembers halls and the tank and vague things.
The others probably remembered when they were younger, I think after being adopted out they had moments where they’d look for each other, not knowing why but expecting someone else to be next to them, had habits from training and things that stuck around longer but faded long ago (I would love to go more into this but I feel like that should be a separate ask tbh)

They’re all test tube babies aside from Hiro, all made from ‘donated’ dna and complete manufactured/inhuman dna. Hiro was a normal baby they experimented on, that’s mentioned once or twice in the first fic, that’s why he’s older.
They COULD be other nationalities, I think most of them probably have some Japanese mixed in at the very least (I personally very much picture Sakura as black/Japanese) I think it’s mentioned at the very beginning of the first fic that Makoto’s parents thought he might be from Thailand instead of Japan, but I think some of them could definitely be mixed ethnicities for sure, but they all grew up in Japan obviously heh heh (aside from Byakuya’s rich ass spending time travelling in Europe🙄)
“How much do the Naegis know about what’s happening to their son?” Uh. Enough. Not the specifics though, ha ha…
Currently they probably only know he’s travelling for something important, I doubt the V3 kids want to worry them, but they know what he’s been through up till this point, to a certain extent, they worry about him a Lot.
And then just answering all the Makoto power questions here: Makoto was sort of changed to have Junko’s power after they realized she was a liiiiittle too dangerous, I kept his original mutation kinda vague on purpose the one time it’s mentioned in the first fic but it was related to the mind in a similar way to her’s or else switching him over like that wouldn’t have worked. His mutation never really… stuck. He didn’t have normal human dna but he didn’t have any kind of measurable power they could train either.
The reason Makoto seems affected a lot more by his power happens for two main reasons: he really doesn’t have as much practice with it, especially in the first fic, he has basically none, but it’s also more the act of using his power to get rid of another person’s influence that affects him. Just using his own power to command someone is a lot easier than using it to get rid of something else controlling someone, that takes a lot more effort, and it’s not something he can really practice and get used to like he can using his power normally.
Their emotions affect their power quite a bit, if they have direct control of someone any strong feelings would unintentionally run off on whoever they’re controlling, Makoto is a lot more likely to slip up and accidentally use his if he’s really scared angry, and a lot more likely to fail at really getting a grip on someone if he’s upset or exhausted. He doesn’t have to touch people to control them, it’s been mentioned he’s managed to command crowds before, but it makes it a lot easier, and clearing something else from someone’s mind without a physical anchor is a lot harder.

I have answered this question in another ask but the short answer is yeah totally, I do think a few powers (like Kokichi’s, mainly, but probably Kiyo and Gonta’s too) would be too incompatible with other dna to pass on to a kid, but others I think absolutely could. Mixing mutant dna with normal human might be different, but I think it could also end up just making a slightly weaker version of the mutation, and kids with two powered parents would almost definitely just get one power because I do think a lot of them would kinda… cancel each other out almost.
“Kyoko vs Sonia who would win?” Don’t make my queens fight each other😭🙏 but tbh I think it depends on the situation BUT Kyoko has beat Sonia’s ass twice now technically (and who knows maybe they’ll fight again in this fic ahaha who said that-) so we will have to see….
And don’t worry it’s not offensive at all but I am not planning on doing anything with ultra despair girls, I’ve never played the game 😭🙏 and from what I’ve seen of it I don’t uhhhh I don’t really want to.
I DO however have ideas for other stories in this au, like origin one shots for each of the THH gang, maybe some little one shots for the v3 kids, an insane part of me wants a little epilogue like 6-10 chapter thing of the dr2 gang after everything, but idk if anyone really wants that heh heh.
How much time has passed since hajime first met izuru?
VERY LITTLE TIME TBH my man has been going through it😭 even though it’s been literal months for readers (terribly sorry about this) it has only been four(ish) days since Hajime first actually saw and spoke to Izuru before he found the boat.
It’s a little unclear just because Hajime keeps getting knocked around or sedated or other terrible things. But it’s been less than roughly four days since he met Izuru, this next chapter (coming this weekend FINALLY) will be his third day technically off the island.
And the people still on the island have been left there with no way off for around thirty six hours at the start of the next chapter. So who knows what they’ve been getting up to.
“Did you… did you know Izuru?” Hajime tried to change the direction, get back to what he really wanted a definitive answer on, “Or… know of him, anyway, like you knew about the others?”
“What did you want to know about him?”
Hajime grew quiet, thinking, a hand resting over his stomach as guilt burned through it like a physical force, like acid, like what had burned Fuyuhiko’s face and Hajime’s arm- and Makoto’s, at some point, apparently. He and all the others had been involved in this so much longer than Hajime could really fathom at the moment.
“…Was he like the others used to be? The way they said they were?” He purposefully moved his hand away from his stomach, balled it up with the other to rest on his knees. He wished he had better words to describe how he was feeling, he couldn’t think up anything verbose enough to say what he was really trying to ask. “Was he bad?”
It was so much more than bad, he had no idea what it could even be. The others weren’t bad, they were terrible- but something made them that way. It was all too confusing.
“I… don’t really think of people as good or bad, usually.” Makoto admitted softly, “I like to think anyone can try to be kinder, or better.”
“That doesn’t answer my question.”
“No. He wasn’t kind.”
