"george russell will win the 2026 wdc" i say into a crowd of f1 fans. they start booing me and i walk off stage until someone in the crowd stands up
"she's right" they say
i look up to see fred vesti standing up and wearing an obnoxious amount of george russell merch
RUSSELL RESET BBY
Adidas motorsport for George's 100th race with Mercedes 🥺🥺🥺
Insane.
I feel like if McLaren had done to Oscar last year what Mercedes did to George today, we would have had 1,000+ podcasts and a full documentary about it by the next day
switch the garages for a race i wanna see something
Mercedes throwing away P1&P3 finish. Why am I surprised? Do they actually care about WCC like they say?
Max, you were my only hope…
Anyway, see you in Barcelona
«…picture, picture, smile for the picture
«pose with your brother, won't you be a good sister?»
everyone thinks that we're perfect
please don't let them look through the curtains…»
I did a tarot reading before the season started, and so far it has been surprisingly accurate.
Kimi would step up and make a breakthrough.
The personal relationship between Kimi and George would remain positive and wouldn't deteriorate.
Toto's attitude toward George wouldn't be entirely supportive. He would, often unintentionally, make things more difficult for George, which could affect his performances.
The most important point: when I asked which card would represent George throughout the season in this WDC fight, I got The High Priestess.
At the time, that made me think I shouldn't expect a completely dominant season from George, like Max's in 2023. Instead, George would be something of a mystery, and what we see on the surface wouldn't tell the whole story. Not everything would be visible from the outside; work behind the scenes would play a significant role, and some important information might remain hidden early on.
It also suggested that George would rely heavily on his experience, wisdom, intuition, ability to read situations, patience, and strategic timing. He wouldn't necessarily be flashy or attract all the attention. People might underestimate him, but behind the scenes he would be much stronger than he appeared and could ultimately surprise everyone.
In that sense, The High Priestess felt very much like a "dark horse" card.
One of us
George after qualifying:
"Got some ideas, but yeah, my driving style is just not working with the car at the moment, so need to understand."
"I'm not having a lot of confidence in the car right now. I do have some ideas why that is, but I don't know right now. We did some good work to sort of understand some things with my driving style that I've had all of my years at Mercedes, and I think this car is not bringing out the best in me. So, I need to adjust to it or make some development changes to help me drive more naturally. Yeah, I'm sort of scratching my head right now."
This is interesting because after Canada I was watching a race weekend analysis, and they said that Kimi and George's different driving styles were apparent in the pole lap ghost car comparison.
Apparently, Kimi is driving the car almost like a go-kart, whereas George is driving it the same way he has always driven F1 cars. Something similar was said today on Canal+ (?) as well, I believe.
It's good that George has identified where the possible problem lies, and I hope he can figure out a solution too.
The Tencent Sports interviewer said that many fans feel frustrated and believe George has been treated unfairly due to recent bad runs. George responded by sharing a message with his fans 😭🥹🩵 — via WendyW on xiaohongshu
George Russell: To all my fans, especially my Chinese fans who've been supporting me through it all, I'm just so, so grateful. And you know what? It's super important that you keep spreading good vibes and positive messages. Yeah, it sucks seeing all the negativity out there, but we shouldn't let that bring us down or make us act like them. We can just let those negative people be, because honestly, we're way better than that. it is important for them to spread good energy and positive message, as difficult as it is to see negativity, we should never lower standards to combat that, we can let these people being negative, and be hurtful but we are better than that.
Q. “I've noticed that people can be pretty harsh to you sometimes, like there are double standards. Like when you speak up for drivers and want better facilities at the track, you get called a "complainer"; but when you're professional and composed with the media, some people say you're "too PR." A lot of fans think these misunderstandings are just unfair and frustrating. When people misunderstand what you're really trying to do, does that hurt a bit?” — Tencent Sports
George Russell: Well, that's just how the world works, I guess. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. Most of the people saying these things don't really know me, and they're not my fans. They don't get my story or what I stand for. So it's really important not to let those comments get to you. Because I'm getting so much love from others, and I'm really thankful for that. All that negativity doesn't affect me. Like I said, it's sad but that's just how things are these days. People have a lot of negativity to let out.bBut I'm sticking to my values, and I've got my team and my fans right there with me, and that's what really matters to me.
#GEORGERUSSELL : "I'd like to introduce you to a future world champion"
Has anyone ever thought that George is Niki's last Mercedes legacy?
