Our Jaipur beach bag. Hand printed in the craft hub of Jaipur and produced in our BSCI certified factory in Delhi. This bag is equal parts easy going and memorable. Coming this spring.
My trip to Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Sota man by Jai Prakash #craftsmuseum #indianart. I love the turban, reddened eyes, and burning bidi. It's the first piece of art 😬 that I've bought but I'm really diggin it. #wevegotyourback
National award winning artist Jai Prakash giving me a short lesson on his fine painting style. Bohot acha hai #indianart #jaiprakash #craftsmuseum (at Crafts Museum)

I know, does this guy even own an iron? But the light in our showroom brings out the greatest texture👌🏼 #menswear #seatoncornell #design ⛅️👕 Veg dye swatch and indigo cutting to make it 🚀off. #indigo #naturaldyes
Pichwai painting is a traditional form of Rajasthani art on fabric. Pictured here is Shrinathji in a pool of lotus flowers. #indianart #fineart #incredibleindia (at India Habitat Centre)
I met this master weaver in Jaipur this weekend at Chokki Dhani. Seeing guys like this working on their craft, I feel pretty damn lucky to be able to witness them. You see, craftsmanship and care are global if you look in the right places. Hopefully that's what we do. #localglobal #design #seatoncornell (at Jaipur, India)
Block printing is really an art, that would make this one of the brushes 👌🏼👌🏼🇮🇳 #jaipur #blockprinting #localglobal #fashionisart (at Jaipur, India)
I'm getting a chance to really dive into textiles and was super psyched to see an awesome range of indigos and veg dye prints today from longtime friends and suppliers in Noida. Pictures above are hand printed natural indigo prints from Jaipur, the Pink City, renowned for its culture and preservation of Indian craft textiles. #designisdope #localglobal #mensstyle
It’s always special arriving in Delhi, my heart picks up its pace in anticipation. After 14 hours of being in the air I feel good about standing in line for immigration..next to buddhist monks, turbaned men in kurtas, Americans anticipating with wide eyes, we’re all waiting to cross the customs threshold and feel the hot exhale of India’s breath on our body. Our driver, Naresh, welcomes me back. Spring 16 for Seaton Cornell begins in earnest.
Trying something different. I'm going to use my brand, Seaton Cornell, to document design, manufacturing, and my experience in India. I hope folks enjoy it!
Curated products from around the world, A story of travel and manufacturing
I grew up in a design family. My mom would spend six or eight weeks twice a year traveling abroad to design a collection that could reach 600 styles. We, my brothers and I, spent countless hours in company stores, running through dressing rooms and causing a general ruckus. Business, design, travel..they all spilled into our lives regularly. It was awesome. Life constantly tempted the next adventure, the next mystery. And it was our business that gave us those, it also gave us identity and responsibility, it gave us tremendous opportunity, it gave us a home filled with family and love. For that I’m forever grateful.. Now I’m on the search for the next discovery, I want to sail into the next cultural shift, I want to run, headfirst, into the next late night, into the next unforgettable experience, I want to dive into the craft of another country, I want to immerse in their traditions of textiles, handicrafts, art, and music. I want to respectfully collect things that make memories and bring them to other good folks. The world is shifting, literally and figuratively, to something we can’t yet see. We’re more connected, more dependent, and more scared of each other than we have been in a long time. We don’t have to be. There are common threads of humanity that tie us in a “network of mutuality, a single garment of destiny”. I say we weave something beautiful, I say we respect and acknowledge the inherent importance of each other.
