19th Annual UFC Barrio Fiesta: Tulay Dugtungan

Hello Friends of UFC! The Seattle University United Filipino Club will like to present the 19th Annual Barrio Fiesta! This year's theme is Tulay Dugtungan: A Northwest-Side Story. Barrio features a student lead event with dance performances, a full-course meal of Filipino Cuisine, abundant raffle prizes, and a Sari-Sari variety store. UFC welcomes you and your family to come and celebrate the Filipino culture with us.  ---------- Date: Saturday, February 16, 2013 Location: Seattle University Campion Ballroom 914 E. Late post, but.....

UFC recently attended the 2012 NWFASA Alliance Conference, held at the University of Washington on April 20-22! Great fun networking with other organizations, and representing our club to the fullest! Much gratitude to FASA sa UW for hosting and putting this wonderful event together!

FILIPINO OLYMPICS 2011

Definitely did not want to let go…

But after the great year of being Fil-O champions… Last night it was time to give it up to WWU… The new champions… It was an amazing time… We fought hard… We cheered harder…Even though we were not able to bring the trophy back home with us, I think what we did bring back may have been just as important. We built bonds, we stepped outside our comfort zones, we showed pride in our organization… Speaking for myself… In that one fun filled day… I grew… I rediscovered why I decided to run for President… I rediscovered what I love the most about being a part of UFC… It’s meeting amazing people… It’s being a leader… It’s being a part of an amazing organization… It’s growing… 

My voice was hoarse… My body bruised… My nose was running… I was falling asleep on the way home… We lost our trophy… But it was all worth it… Hearing so many people come up to me… Complimenting our organization on our spirit… Winning that spirit award… Making our presence known while still stepping out of our small circle to realize that we are only one organization of many… I’m so proud… I’m so happy… This is what it’s all about… 

What it do? SU!…. Who we be? UFC!…. For Life…

The will to earn a year’s worth of bragging rights amongst your peers in the Alliance and the coveted Barrel Man Trophy… Okay, maybe it isn’t as serious as it may seem, but FilipinOlympics (Fil-O) is definitely a chance for you and your organization to meet and compete against your peers in the Alliance. Created in 2006 by way of Omega Phi Omega, Inc. (KUYAS), Fil-O has a history of extremely friendly and fun competition. The events challenges teams physically and mentally in a safe and positive atmosphere. Past winners of Fil-O: 2006-2007: Washington State University Filipino American Student Association 2007-2008: University of Washington Filipino American Student Association 2008-2009: Gonzaga University Filipino American Student Union 2009-2010: N/A 2010-2011: Seattle University United Filipino Club 2011-2012: ??? In addition to competition, Fil-O is also an opportunity to bring organizations together on a larger scale to promote networking and team building. It is truly a unique event that has become a staple in Alliance activities. So, what’s it going to be? Will you be representing your organization in this year’s competition? We need your support to make Fil-O successful and to build a stronger foundation for the Alliance!   $15/org & $3/person Register ASAP before November 16, 2011 to avoid paying $5/person.
