“What about the sanitized? They’re lost without you.” She trails off, wondering if she would include herself in that group. She wasn’t completely sanitized, but she couldn’t imagine what it would be like without her Commander.

“Only a few of a my scientists are still sanitized, but rest assured that they have chosen to stay that way.”

“I didn’t always looks like this, but my voice has stayed mostly the same.” The taller Octoling gave a small smile. “You knew me as someone I hate being, someone who I want to bury in the past.”

He’d always wanted that, to bury everything and move forward in life and live it to the fullest. To finally move on and not have to worry about such things anymore. But of course, no matter what, it’d always be there to haunt him. Always looming over his shoulder, ready to wrap it’s cold hands around his neck to asphyxiate him again.
