Ah, that makes more sense then. I…. I might actually be able to take him? I’d have to see if Tati and Sasha are alright with it, but there’s always someone in the house so I think he’d be okay even while I’m at work.

I'm fairly certain either won't have a problem with it but perhaps it's the wise thing to do to consult them but, if they do say you can keep him then, well, it's yours. There's only one condition to it, actually. I get to have a say in the name. We can't have this fella go on about life with a meaningless pup name like Buddy... he has character. He needs a proper name.

Pity you don't, then. Well, there's no collar around his neck and no tag with contacts. I suppose he could have an owner but, until we find that, he needs to be taken care of. I'll see if someone takes him up first. I can't really take care of a pup.

Well, you should get on more sci-fi's then. Have you not watched Penny Dreadful? Such a good series. I got to binge watch it this past week. He has no tag. You could take him while I go around posting pictures of him and, if no one claims him, he can be yours.

I figured it'd take less time to potty train... mate, I'm joking. He looks awfully tame to be a shifter. I'd expect a trapped shifter to be a pain in the buttocks. Look at him.

Magic Herb Tea || Kenzie & Bash

For the past few days, Kenzie had been hiding out in her own apartment. After days of finally being able to sleep for hours upon hours and making up for all the lost sleep, Kenzie was back on her own and wasn’t able to get the same peaceful sleep. So she was starting to run on about two hours of sleep a day. Besides going out of her apartment so she wouldn’t lose her mind by going stir crazy, Kenzie was mostly camping out on her couch. It was an odd thing to not work and to not worry about money. For years now, that was all Kenzie knew. But she lost her babysitting job when Cass’ father’s moved out of town and with Alex paying for her rent, there was really no need to get another job until Dairy Queen let her back on. 

She was laying out on the couch watching Inception when she heard a knocking. “Coming!” Kenzie shouted, hoping that whoever it was heard her and wouldn’t walk away in the time it took for her to get to the door. Grabbing her crutches, she got off the couch and walked over to the door. Opening it, she found Sebastian. Smiling she chuckled and shook her head. “I really shouldn’t open the door for you unless you have a pizza.” Kenzie teased but opened and stepped awkwardly aside so he could come in.

Sebastian couldn't help but laugh, remembering the very first time he had made the walk to her front door, a complete stranger back then, simply because she had misdialed. Back then, when everything was much simpler. "Once you're all healed, I'll get you pizza. Sounds fair?" Whether it was because of the tea or her medication, he worried that she wasn't taking the severity of the situation seriously. Sure, she would hea in time, as she so optimistically believed, but medication was an important part of the recovery and she was simply ignoring it.

Letting himself in, the druid watched his surroundings carefully albeit having been in the place before. His satchel was brought off his chest and placed atop the dining table before he turned around to face the girl again. Sebastian wasn't a doctor, and outside of his healing powers with the wolves, he truly didn't know much about diagnoses and treatments. But traveling through some of the poorest countries in the world, learning from remote tribes the remedies they still to this day carried on to heal themselves, he hoped that the tea would help his friend. "You remember what I told you? One cup twice a day, no longer than a week. No alcohol, no drugs. It'll taste horribly. I put some honey in the mix but the taste is still strong. Don't miss a cup or else it will not be as likely to work."

Nearly a week later..

I take you've dealt with your punishment distributions, sister?

"I am free. Or at least as close as I can get to freedom."

"Yes. They’re the ones who gave me the necklace in the first place. ?I’m hoping they passed on the heirloom without knowing the cost but… if they did know…." Sasha sighed. "Yes, us three for as long as we can. If others find out they’ll ask about my family and I’ll have to tell them all my name…. my real name.”

There's no point in dwelling on things we are not sure about just yet, Sasha. Isn't it common law here in this country that everyone is to be counted innocent until proven guilty? Your name is safe with us, you mustn't worry about that. What a burden, is it? To hide our very names?

Magic Herb Tea || Kenzie & Bash

It was easy for the druid to keep his mind occupied. Since his return, Sebastian had retaken the care of his indoor garden, the making of ointments and burying his nose in old books for research. It was necessary, for him to keep his head from wandering to the events that drove him away a month ago, and to keep his emotions at bay. After all, his balance was expected. The healer could not be sick for what hope would there be left for those who depended on him? 

As he parked in front of Kenzie's house, a red thermo safely tucked inside his satchel, the boy took a moment before stepping out of the car. A deep breath, his eyes closed, light shake to the head. Get it together, mate. A smile beamed on his face as he knocked at the girl's front door, the other hand grabbing at the satchel's strap across his chest. It frustrated him so that his power wasn't meant for humans, but his knowledge on roots and herbs did grant him another mean to help Kenzie's bones strengthen and heal faster. "It's not pizza this time but I promise I'll get you one soon. First things first."

I don't even know how much of that goodness is left. I care about the pack, Liz, and I will always aid them and support them but it feels like a duty now. Something I must do. It's not that I don't want to do it, I do, but—- I feel empty, Liz, as if my light was dimming.

Oh come on, I’m sure I was happy at some point since I’ve known you. We’re been a happy family from time to time.

Thank you. I really appreciate it. I just… I’d like to know what it was designed to so, how far it could have gone if I was still wearing it and most importantly… who made it. I need to be sure, Bash. 100%. Because if it is my… my…

We sure have been, of course, but I mean, this big. Your eyes are not holding back when you smile now. It's almost as if you're... as if you were free.

Your... family? I'll have a look at it, Sasha, and Tatiana is also going to try and find whatever she can on it. For now, however, we should just keep this between us three. It would be much safer.
