And suddenly, the monster in him falls silent as he rests his head on her lap.
Everything feels better with her (via somepiecesofmyheartandsoul)

Rose couldn’t help but laugh at his comment. “Really?” She asked through a chuckle at the fact that he used that line. “Well, thank you. I think that’s one of my favorite things you’ve ever said to me,” she laughed. Having him around her again-and happy-was so weird. If they were together, it was nothing but angst. They could’ve had the happiest day ever and something would’ve sparked an argument. They did have good days, and she knew that, but they were a hot mess. Sometimes she wished they could start over…go back to that night and start again, knowing what they knew now. “It didn’t, you’ve always had a beautiful face,” she said quietly as she looked over to him.
As Rose saw the journal, her eyes went wide. “You were writing in that the night you told me you loved me,” she murmured, feeling like she almost shouldn’t have said that. “I bet there’re ten pages about how much you hate Caleb, am I right?” She asked with a light laugh. It was so strange seeing him blush. He did when they were together, but not as much. Not this easily. “Yeah, it was the best time of my life. It was the best escape I could’ve asked for.” From her dad, from witsec, from Jacob. “I wish it did,” Rose replied. “I always thought we’d be together forever. Most people did. Even Noah..and he’s hard to please,” she teased, hoping there was something in the journal to help Seb remember him.
He chuckled softly and shrugged. “Oh, that Caleb guy. Yeah, there was definitely a lot of angst-y entries about him,” he shook his head and flipped through the pages. It was weird for him-- he knew that he had history with Rose, but he felt so shy and nervous. With a small sigh, he poured himself more wine to help him ease his nerves. “Noah? It was actually funny reading about him. I annoyed the hell out of him at first, or so it seems. Then he became my first real best friend.” A tinge of sadness ran through him, wishing that all of this time he spent with Noah and Rose wasn’t just a big blank space in his memory. Maybe this was why no one wanted to inform him about everything he had forgotten-- no one wanted to break it to him that he was missing out on so much.
“Sometimes...” he began to speak, his voice shaky, “I think that maybe all of this happened for a reason. Maybe I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be right now. And everything that happened, was supposed to happen so I would wind up here.” He gazed over towards her, taking a minute to admire her deep, green eyes. Quickly, he looked away and cleared his throat. “Did that make sense or do I just sound dumb now?” he chuckled and ran his fingers through his hair-- a nervous habit he had. He felt the urge to say more, but debated keeping quiet. “Thank you for agreeing to hang out with me-- for even talking to me. If you didn’t... I don’t know what I would have done. Talking to you again was like fitting a missing puzzle piece into my mind. A lot of the things I think, and feel, makes sense now,” he spoke softly, fumbling with his fingers.

“I’m sure,” she murmured as she analyzed everything. She remembered that night in her head as if it was a movie on repeat. “Yeah, it was the best night of my life,” the brunette nodded when he asked if she liked it. She looked around in disbelief a little more at how similar it was. It proved he was still in there, if he had set it up the exact same way. It made sense. Rose smiled and got in the fort.
Rose smiled some more as she looked around. “Seb…it’s the exact same. I remember that night like it was yesterday,” she admitted, playing with the bracelets on her arm. She’d never been able to forget it, no matter how many more dates she went on. Rose admired him for a minute, looking at how beautiful he was in the dim lighting. That hadn’t changed. “We were roommates…and I came home, to see you…and it was like this. We ended up having our first date,” she smiled. When he said wow she narrowed her eyebrows and then laughed. “Thank you,” she said shyly before running her hands through her hair. “I was a lot prettier before I got pregnant,” she shrugged. “But thank you. You always…you always made me feel like I was the prettiest girl in the world. You don’t look like you were in an accident, by the way,” she teased, biting her lip a little.
“I don’t believe that,” Sebastian smiled and shook his head at her pregnancy comment. “You’re like.. like, a bottle of wine-- you only get better with age.” He chuckled at his own cheesy comment, then winked at her. Being around her made him feel weirdly giddy, he felt like he was going to make his cheeks sore from smiling so much. “Well, thanks. I’m glad my face didn’t get too mangled,” he laughed and scrunched up his face, moving his hand to touch the scar on the back of his head. It healed quickly, but still caused him a bit of pain from time to time.
As he sipped on his wine, a million questions ran through his mind; he couldn’t figure out which one to ask first. “Wait, I found something earlier--,” he blurted, grabbing a journal from nearby quickly, then passing it to her. “I guess I kept this on the Sunburst. You were mentioned a lot,” he blushed, flipping to a page where he talked about taking her to the ball. The entries were all short, but many of them gushed about him developing feelings for Rose. “When you think about it, that’s a pretty amazing experience, isn’t it? Falling in love on a cruise ship, then we went to a ball together... It’s too bad the Sunburst didn’t last forever. Things would have been so different.”
rachaelcanderson:
“Well,” she said smirking. “We can go to the bar instead, I wouldn’t mind a drink.”
“Alright, perfect. Sounds like we got a plan. I know a pretty good spot around here-- I worked there briefly when I was still bartending.”
troytanderson:
“I will drink to that. He was a very smart man wasn’t he. I could actually go for a drink right now. Know any good places?”
“Of course. Are you in a partying mood or just a chill mood? I heard of a really cool club downtown that just opened-- if you’re in the mood for getting crazy we should try and get in.”
rachaelcanderson:“That would be perfect. if I don’t get my coffee I get pretty unbearable.”
“I can relate. Without my caffiene fix, I lose my mind. Today’s been so long, though, I might need something stronger than coffee.”
“You know, I’m pretty sure it was Frank Sinatra who once said ‘I feel sorry for people who don’t drink. When they wake up in the morning, that’s as good as they’re going to feel all day.’ I think he was onto something.”

rosealiejulia:
Rose had no idea how to feel. Ever since the first time she talked to Sebastian, he had been the same. A constant state of mystery, or that’s how she chose to see it. Now, he was different. He had no memory of her. It was a blessing and a curse. She had her moments when she wasn’t the best girlfriend to him, and he sure as hell had his moments. The one thing that was for sure was that part of her would always love him. Part of her wished he would’ve never run into her so he could’ve had a clean start with this no memory thing, but when she looked into his eyes she couldn’t deny wanting to spend time with him. Her memory flashed back to their first date. How happy she was…how in love she was, how no date had ever topped it. Not even one with Lottie. Losing his memory of the past year meant he lost that-knowing Rose had been married. To a woman. But to her memory, he was bisexual also. Because a long, long, time ago, she’d kissed the boy Sebastian slept with right before this first date. It was ironic, and funny, and Rose laughed at how much she had changed as she did her makeup.
Nervously she drove over to his new place wondering what it looked like. They had been roommates on the cruise ship, so she knew his style for the most part. Rose walked up to the front door, pacing back and forth before she walked in. “Hi,” she smiled softly. As she walked in, she was completely silent. Her bag just dropped to the floor and she looked around, seeing the layout. If he didn’t remember, he didn’t do it on purpose. “T-This…this is exactly how our first date was set up. Exactly,” she repeated as she looked at the bottles.
Sebastian’s face dropped once he heard her speak. “Are you sure? I mean, of course you’re sure-- ignore me,” he rambled to himself, shaking his head. He could hardly believe that he had subconsciously set up the same date as before. “I just thought it might have been something you liked. Wait, you liked it the first time, right?” he smirked and winked at her. Although he was still in slight shock, he decided to play it off. Losing his memory gave him insane anxiety when thinking about, what he calls, ‘his blackout’. Shaking his head in disbelief once more, he walked over to the fort, holding it open and signalling for her to get in. “Ladies first.”
Once they were both in the tent, he felt nervous. His stomach had been invaded by a swarm of butterflies, or so it felt that way. Was he this nervous the first time? He figured that he must have been, if not more. He decided to be grateful that they bumped into each other-- he now had a second chance to get to know her. Maybe it would work out, maybe he could redo everything that he messed up before. Maybe it would be a mistake, maybe they’d remain just friends. Before getting too lost in his own thoughts, he poured out two glasses of wine, passing the other one to Rose. As he took his first sip, he glanced over towards her, marveling at her beauty. The darkness of her hair seemed to make her green eyes stick out more. The light from the nightlights made her skin glisten. “Wow,” he blurted, thinking out loud. Embarrassed, he blushed and looked down, forcing a small smile. “I didn’t mean to-- you just look really.. really beautiful.”

As far as he could remember, being romantic was never Sebastian’s ‘thing’, really. He found that cheesy dates, like movies or dinner, were always awkward and he never felt quite satisfied after them. Especially with Rose-- he really wanted to talk with her and show her that he isn’t the same Sebastian she remembered. At this point, he was still nervous about asking her what all happened between them, so maybe tonight could put his worries at ease a little bit. Seeing her face on the street earlier hit him like a bag of bricks. Her beauty stunned him, and talking to her made him feel like he was coming home. She felt real. He knew he needed to make this night as perfect as he possibly could. One idea stuck out to him-- making a little blanket fort and setting up a candlelit dinner on the inside. The blankets for the fort took up a good chunk of his living room, making sure there was enough room for the both of them on the inside. And then, on the inside, there was a makeshift dining area using pillows and cushoins, accompanied with two small nightlights as a replacement for candles. On the “table” of the dining area sat two bottles of wine and an assortment of candy.
Exhaling deeply, Sebastian took one more look at what he had set up. A smirk crept upon his face an he felt pleased with what he had done, but was still worried Rose would think he was corny, or something. Just as he was starting to doubt himself, he heard someone knock on his door. His heart pounded. He raced to the door and swung it open. “Um, hi,” he blurted, grinning. “I- um. Just come inside.”
rachaelcanderson:
“Now if someone could just tell me where I can find a coffee shop, I should be okay.”
“There’s pretty much a Starbucks on every corner around here, but if you need, I could lead you there. I need a coffee myself, anyways.”
delilahrlarkin:
“Ugh! Too bad, they are so good. You know you could have taken all the credit and I would never have known.” Smiling she added, “but no, seriously you’ll have to tell me where this place is, or show me.”
“I could totally do that. You’re not up to anything right now, are you?” he said, glancing at his phone to check the time. He was aimlessly wandering around today, so why not invite someone to join him?
“This cupcake is really good. Did you make it?” Delilah took a bite and smiled, “one of the best I have ever tasted actually.”
delilahrlarkin:
“Me? Baking?” he laughed, shaking his head. “That would just be a disaster. No, I got ‘em from this bakery on my street.”
nicksloan45:
“Moving into a loft in the middle of LA is tougher than I thought. Who knew there would be so many stairs?”
“Didn’t you scope out the place before deciding to move in? But, I mean, if you need a hand, I could help you.”
vannahdoe:
“There are at least seventeen ways this could have gone better. Literally. Like, I’m counting them right now, you moron.”
“Yeah, I get it. I just didn’t think I was that bad of a driver.”
clarystfu:
“I guess it’s just something that comes with living in the city. Say, why did you move to another big city if you’re from one and you hate them?” she asked. “Culver City originally, but pretty much.”
“I wouldn’t say I hate them, just how some of the people act, you know?” he said, laughing lightly. “But, I came here for school. UCLA’s always sort of been my dream school, when I got accepted, I got here as soon as I could. Wait, so you must know the area pretty well, right? Would you mind helping me? I’m really lost.”
rosealiejulia:
“She’ll come around…she always does,” Rose said enthusiastically, referring to Baylee. That’s one thing that she loved about Baylee…she could never stay mad at anyone for too long. She’d forgiven Rose too many times to count. “Yeah, it is,” she replied with a small smile. Something in her screamed no, but it was only because she knew she’d fall right back in love with him. It was inevitable. “You’ve said that a lot,” she told him through a sigh. “So…do you want to hang out or something?”
“I guess so,” Sebastian shrugged, hoping Rose was right. When Rose asked to hang out, his mouth twisted into a small smirk, and he nodded. “Yeah, I’d like that. You should come by my place later. It’ll be fun, trust me.”
