one-hundred and seventy birds → seblaine
Tagging → Blaine Anderson and Sebastian Smythe
Time Frame → 6/9, night
Location → Blaine’s apartment
Notes → Suffocating under a pile of his own clothes, but happy to be watching Charlie for the night, Sebastian is quick to admit what he wants. It's something uncharacteristic, and very telling, that encourages Blaine to ask an important question.
Blaine smiles a little as he hovers outside of his front door, glancing over his shoulder as Veronica puts her hand on his shoulder. She squeezes gently before pressing a kiss on his cheek. He’s missed this; he’s missed her. They finally had a chance to go out and get dinner with one another, talk about everything. Her lack of time for dating (though that’s probably a good thing), her job, his break of friendship and communication with Tom. And of course: Sebastian. Sebastian and Charlie.
“I missed seeing the little princess.” She says as he sticks his key in the lock.
“Yeah, I know. I would have brought her with me but she hardly gives up time to spend with Sebastian,” He smiles so easily and Veronica smirks a little. “As much as she loves you.” He winks.
She laughs softly, waving her hand at him. “It’s fine, I’d choose that string bean over me any day.” V teases.
Blaine opens his door and pockets his keys, leaning against the doorframe with a large grin. “Yeah, he’s alright.”
She giggles, running a hand through her hair. “I think someone,” She pokes his ticklish side, making him squirm. “Is a little bit in love.”
He rolls his eyes before batting her hands away. “Hush, go to bed. It’s late.”
“Okay dad.”
Blaine shakes his head and makes sure she gets into her apartment alright before he goes into his own, closing and locking the door. He can hear Charlie down the hall, presumably in his bedroom with Sebastian, talking animatedly about something. He smiles softly and shrugs off his jacket, sets his keys in the bowl and kicks his shoes off. Blaine makes sure most of the lights are off before making his way down the hall.

How did he get here like this? Sebastian half closes his eyes, his smile just as stuck to his face as his body is under half of what used to be his neatly folded clothes. His neatly folded clothes in his neatly chosen drawer... Blaine’s old drawer.
Now his.
I have a drawer.
"Oh." Sebastian’s eyes snap open, his thoughts dismantled as quickly as they’d appeared. "Careful with that--" he insists, reaching out to stop Charlie from looping one of his ties around her neck. She pouts as the concern manifests itself into words. It feels… patron-ly, foreign, the words coming out like this, but he can’t seem to stop them from happening. His thoughts have been doing this too lately.
For a brief second he thinks of Camden and smiles. He’s far too lost in this now. All for Blaine. For a second he’s embarrassed, but as soon as he realizes no one but Charlie is there to judge how he acts he relaxes. "I'll teach you how to tie one later, okay.”
Charlie huffs, twirling on her feet and almost getting caught up in Sebastian’s dress shirts. She’s careful with the tie, per his request, and loosely drapes it over her shoulders before pulling one of his t-shirts over her head.
“Do I look lite you?” She asks, tilting her head at him.
"Ehh." His reply makes her giggle, her tiny hands acting defiantly by tossing the fabric around her shoulder like a drape, and again around her forehead as a headband. He laughs. "Does your dad ever let you play with his bow ties?"
She nods her head, moving to a drawer Blaine has on the lower level of his dresser. She yanks it open, almost tugging the entire drawer out with her and reaches inside. It’s not Blaine’s bowtie drawer but one he puts there just for her to reach.
“This one.” She takes out a blue one with birds. “This my favorite.”
"Why's that?" Seb asks to appease her, quietly evening out his breathing again. Another spell of sleep is slowing down him down, and he tries to stretch his legs out to wake himself up.
Blaine moves towards his bedroom, straining his ears to hear the conversation taking place. He glances inside his bedroom door, leaning against the frame as he watches his daughter climb up into bed with his boyfriend and promptly sit on his waist.
“Cause it has birds on it, and birds are one of my favorites. This one,” She points to one bird (even though they’re all the same print), “his name is Jerry. Say hi Giraffee.” Blaine smirks softly, covering his mouth with his hand.
Sebastian makes a noise through his nose, a puff of air to stop himself from laughing in case it offends her. "Uh," he smiles brightly, "hi Jerry." Sebastian even waves at it. He's glad Blaine's not here because he's sure his whole face is beet red. "Can I name one?"
She nods and pushes the bowtie at him. “But of course there are a hundred and seventy more birds.” Charlie exaggerates.
Sebastian can't help but notice how much she sounds like Blaine. He sighs in contentment and hands it back to her, "Let's call them all Fred."
Charlie scrunches her nose. “You can’t name a bird, Fred, Giraffee.” She rolls her eyes. “Da named one Cinnabon once.”
"You named one Jerry."
She replies with playfully throwing the bowtie at him. Charlie rolls off of him and is satisfied with lying next to him, still wrapped up in his clothes. She looks up at him after a few moments, playing with the bottom of her tie. Sebastian puts a hat over her face.
“Do you love my da.” Blaine hesitates in the doorway, unmoving, wanting to break the silence so Sebastian at least knows he’s there but he can’t seem to get his bones and muscles to work. He wants to know the answer.
His hands freeze on the spot, his whole body actually, but his response doesn't. He pulls the hat back from her face, "You know I do." He pinches her cheek playfully, "And you." She laughs. "Do you love me?"
She scrunches her nose, shrugging her one shoulder before giggling again.
"You better!" He interrupts before she says anything, tickling her into agreeing with him because he's terrified she might say no. Even though that's probably not the case.
Charlie squeals loudly, kicking her legs, trying to pull herself out of his touch. Blaine figures now out of any is a perfect time to allow himself into this conversation, smiling as he clears his throat and gains his daughter’s attention. Sebastian turns red again. Did he hear all of that?
“Da!” She says, her voice loud and melodic. She runs off the bed just as he approaches and catches her in his arms, swinging her around before placing her on his hip.
“What have you been up to all night, little monster?” Blaine smiles, kissing all over her face before tugging on Sebastian’s t-shirt.
"Emptying out my drawer." Sebastian grins, repositioning himself so he can stand up and greet his boyfriend with a proper kiss.
He laughs softly. “I can see that.”
Sebastian's arms slide around Blaine's waist from the side. He does his best to make the temporary position comfortable so Charlie isn't putting too much weight on the others arms. He kisses Blaine's cheek and pulls away to sit on the edge of the bed. He's so tired.
"How was your friend date with Veronica?"
He sets his daughter down on the floor, telling her to pick up Sebastian’s clothes and put them back in his drawer with a soft pat to her butt before he sits down on the bed. He runs a hand through the other’s hair with a soft sigh.
“It was good. Really good actually, I missed her.” He smiles. “How was your time with Charlie?”
Seb gives Blaine a look, glancing at the messy floor in jest. "Tiring." He silently wishes Blaine would play with his hair again. "But we had fun." Charlie looks up from the floor as she makes a big pile of button ups. "Didn't we?"
She nods but is clearly engrossed in her task at hand; Blaine just chuckles and lies down in bed, letting Sebastian mold into his side. He presses a kiss to his forehead, breathing in the scent of his skin and shampoo.
"Can I stay over tonight?"
Blaine nods softly. “Of course. Thought that was kind of a given. You’re practically here more than your own place.”
"Yeah," Unconsciously he tightens his grip around Blaine's middle. "Sorry. My place is just so... empty compared to here."
He chews on his lower lip, glancing at the drawer Charlie is putting Sebastian’s clothes back into. “You could...always just. Stay here. Permanently. If you wanted.”
The surprise causes him to slowly pull back on his elbow. If he wasn't awake before, he is now. "Yes."
"I mean, yes, if you want me to. I'd.." He pauses mid sentence, Blaine looking at him a little funny. "What?"
He shakes his head, smiling a little against his forehead. “Nothing,” He laughs softly. “Nothing uh...just hope all your shit doesn’t take over my bowtie drawer.” He teases before leaning down and pressing a kiss to his lips. His daughter giggles in the background, muttering ‘kwises’ while still wearing Sebastian’s shirt.
"I'll get you a new bow tie drawer." Sebastian kisses him back, his fingers dancing on Blaine's chest. He leans in close. "Let's put Charlie to bed so I can show you how excited I am to accept your offer."
Blaine rolls his eyes, pushing Sebastian back in bed before helping his daughter snuggle between them.
