Thomas Moran - "The Golden Hour" (1875)
"Nothing is more evident than that modern capitalism is just as subversive as Marxism. The materialistic view of life on which both systems are based is identical; both of their ideals are qualitatively identical, inclding the premises connected to a world the center of which is constituted of technology, science, production, 'productivity,' and 'consumption.' And as long as we only talk about economic classes, profit, salaries, and production, and as long as we believe that real human progress is determined by a particular system of distribution of wealth and goods and that, generally speaking, human progress is measured by the degree of wealth or indigence-then we are not even close to what is essential..."

Covadonga Basilica Asturias, Spain 🇪🇸
Basilica of Santa María la Real de Covadonga is one of the most important religious and historical sites in Spain.
The basilica was built between 1877 and 1901 in Neo-Romanesque style and is made from beautiful pink limestone from the surrounding mountains. It stands near the famous Holy Cave (Santa Cueva) where the Virgin of Covadonga, the patron saint of Asturias, is venerated.
The location is closely connected to the Battle of Covadonga (around 722). In this battle, the Christian leader Pelagius of Asturias defeated Muslim forces. This victory is traditionally considered the beginning of the Christian Reconquista in Spain.
Today, the basilica is an important pilgrimage site, cultural symbol of Asturias, and popular tourist destination surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of the Picos de Europa.
