The TIME OF SNOWDOWN is arguably the most significant Runeterran holiday since it’s the only occasion wherein citizens of Valoran have historically agreed to put aside their differences for a short time.
In the spirit of Snowdown, reblog this post before December 13th to receive an ask with a URL on, or some time just before, that date. You will become the Secret Santa for the blog you receive, and it’s up to you to send them a nice message or two… or twelve.
For example, send the blog you receive some nice anons for the 12 Days of Snowdown, or have your muse anonymously write letters to their muse. It’s up to you how you conduct your Secret Santa-ing, whether IC or OOC. The only rule is to make sure you spread some Snowdown cheer, and that you reveal yourself on or around Christmas Day!

Q: … Just how do I do this Secret Snowdown thing again?
A: On or around December 13th, pending timezones as the mod of this blog is Australian, you will receive a message that tells you who you have been paired with. You can only be paired if you have reblogged the above post. All you need to do is go to that person’s ask box, and message them on anon with things that might brighten their day! You can do more than that, it’s up to you~
When the 25th rolls around, or whenever you feel it’s appropriate, reveal yourself to your partner. Congratulations! Hopefully, you’ve made a new friend.
Q: Just reblog? Likes don’t count?
A: Reblogging the post not only helps spread around the event, but it also helps me gauge if you’re active enough to reblog something. The biggest problem with this event is people becoming inactive before it starts, so it’s just one safe measure. Feel free to delete the post once you have your partner though!
Q: The person I was paired with doesn’t have their anon enabled! How do I send them a message in secret?
A: In the message where someone receives a URL, they will also be prompted to turn on their anon feature for the duration of the event. If they haven’t, please don’t hesitate to message me. I can contact your partner for you, and if they have reasons not to turn on anon you are always welcome to tell me what you’d like to say, and I can send it their way through this blog.
Q: I’m an artist and I wish to draw something for the blog I was paired with. How do I send them my art while still remaining anonymous?
A: Send the art my way! I can throw it into their submit box on your behalf, or if they don’t have a submit box I can always post it up on this blog and @ your partner in the post. Hopefully your partner won’t be able to guess who you are by your lovely art style <3
Q: The person I am paired with is someone who I’ve had a disagreement with in the past, or drama might result from me being paired with them. Can you change my partner to someone else?
A: I promise you it wasn’t deliberate if this is the case, as URLs are drawn randomly. Please tell me right away if you need to swap. It may be hard to swap people around once the event is in motion, but I will try my hardest to accommodate.
For anyone that is anxious about such an occurrence: It’s very unlikely you will be paired with someone you know! In some years over 250 blogs participated in Secret Snowdown. That’s a 1/249 chance you will be paired with any specific person.
Q: Can I participate if I have multiple blogs? What if I get paired with myself?
A: While I’d prefer it that people kept themselves to one blog, there is no limit on how many times, or with how many different blogs you can enter. If you manage to get unlucky and you draw yourself though, please speak to me as soon as possible. I will most definitely swap you in this case.
Q: I don’t know the person who I’ve been paired with, or I just don’t like the look of their blog / I just don’t want to send them anything. Can you please switch me to someone else?
A: Please message me about any grievances you might have. While I try to keep everyone happy, the process is entirely random and is intended to spread positivity to someone you might not know. Even if you can send little things on anon, I am sure your partner would appreciate it.
Q: I’m from outside of the League of Legends RP community / RPing in general. Can I still participate?
A: If you happen to reblog the post and you are not an RP blog, then you will be appropriately paired with someone who is also not an RP blog. This allows people who RP to do IC Secret Santa, and for personals to do their own thing.
Q: It’s been a few days and my Secret Santa hasn’t sent me anything. What do I do?
A: I cannot promise that your Secret Santa will send you anything, but I will try my hardest to poke them. If it has been a while, please inform me. Ultimately some people will be paired with dead blogs, or blogs that do not participate properly, and for that I am deeply sorry in advance. I will try and re-pair you if I think you aren’t going to get anything, but there is only a finite number of people who participate.

Q: My Secret Santa never sent me a single thing, and now the event is over. Can you tell me who my Secret Santa was?
A: Unfortunately, just for the sake of keeping things civil, I will not tell you who your Secret Santa was if you ended getting nothing from them. Again, I deeply apologize if you didn’t receive anything this year, but I can’t ensure everyone won’t use the URL I give them maliciously. Therefore, I have a blanket stance of not giving out any URLs.

Oho! I hope everyone is having an eventful holiday season, and is having fun with their secret santa-ing! Snowdown grows closer every day, so be sure you start thinking about when you are going to reveal yourself. It’s okay to do it early, especially if you think you’re going to be busy! Do whatever you need to do. There are no real rules about how, so don’t be stressed about sticking to any hard deadline.
One of the Secret Santas also leaves a big cup of fuming hot chocolate for the mod. Nothing would have happened without you! So here, as a thank you to our secret not-so-secret boss~
