Fairy tales are such crap.
Kitchen work.
Sorry my work ethic isn’t up to your standards, but you trying to make me feel bad for not going isn’t going to work. I’ll be on my way, being something a little bit less than useless. Don’t you have something more important to do, Secretary?
Excuse me, I must not have been clear -- I think what you heard when I said 'thank you' was please continue talking. But what I meant was this conversation was over.
Kitchen work.
I just have a headache. The dish washing doesn’t help, I’ll get to the kitchen soon so there’s no need to start a lecture or rant or anything.
I can't make you go, but when you do decide to deem it important enough to show up, be sure to explain to the people who actually do their work why you thought you deserved a break even after you've only been at this for a couple weeks. Thank you.
Kitchen work.
I wonder how long I can postpone that for.
Please don't. It's annoying, but it's not going to get less annoying the longer you put it off. Probably the opposite.
[Petra was in the room when Nairn did the annoucement that blared through the various levels of Thirteen. Her voice was precise and clipped, professional as always. When she lifted her finger off the intercom, Petra knew that she could speak]
I can’t really decide if that would help or just worry people.
I know you have the wellness of Thirteen in mind, but I don’t think you really contemplate on how your advice could be interpreted- unless that is your intent….
Even the people staying behind from the raid need to be sure to be on their Guard. I'm just letting them know they should be aware. No harm in that.
Please remember to get some proper rest tonight. Even if you aren't going on the raid we need to stay on our guard for anything that may happen. Thank you.
Of course of course. This is bumped way to the top of my priorities list. You seem too stressed out Nairn. I’m always up at 0500 if you want to join me for exercise in the morning….
Now that things have finally been set in motion there is a lot to accomplish, and with all the new people running around our halls a lot to keep track of. A little bit of stress is probably normal.
If I haven't anything better to do I might stop by. But I may be busy.
[Petra scrunched her face when Helena pulled out the paperwork. Everything was paperwork with this woman. But she accepted the papers anyways and scanned over the carefully typed print with her eyes]
We’re trying to operate by then? Oh man I need to go over this with Lennox and Demetrius.
Yes. I imagine that's why it's on the schedule.
[She took a tight breath before she spoke] I'm sure you'll sort it all out. We have faith in all of your abilities when it comes to hammering out the details of your trainees, and being fully ready when the time comes.
Yeah yeah Nairn, I get it. I’m just a bit preoccupied with the face that most of them don’t know how to put their gear on properly. We’re just way behind the schedule that I was prepped for.
Would you perhaps have an updated one so I know what the fuck I’ll be teaching these kids?
Hm... [She pulled a folder out of her bag looking through it.]
Here. [Helena handed a few sheets of paper to Petra] This is the most recent one I have on me. Let me know if you need any revisions on it.
I thought that we would take care of this shit sooner. Everyone has a lot of prepping to go through in a short amount of time. It’ll be no easy chore for either of us.
But it needs to be done, so hopefully there won't be much complaining about it. From anyone.
Their hand to hand combat and skills with weaponry will definitely come in handy, reprogramming their attitudes will most likely be the biggest problem. District Thirteen life isn’t exactly a walk in the park.
It's not. But as long as they follow the rules they shouldn't have too much of a problem... That is if the ones in prison even get out.
Well, but slow, some of these new …recruits can’t tell a Glock from a Sig Sauer.
I doubt even the people from the Career districts had the right sort of training they need. I hope you don't have to try to undo all of that...
[/ Pixel looked up from where she sat on the chair next to her bed. It was likely meant for visitors instead of patients but she had become restless and moved there. She would have liked to pace, however she was still tethered by her IV and unable to stray far. ]
I-I’m sorry.
[/ Pixel looked hesitant to speak to District 13 woman, unsure of why her tiny pile of tissues provoked such a response. After a few moments of silence she shakily raised up her stump from where it had been obscured from sight, nestled beneath the blankets she was huddled under. ]
I-I couldn’t reach it, I didn’t think it was so bad to leave it on the side table.
[Helena rolled her eyes and let out a sigh, as she grabbed the small waste paper basket setting it right next to the girl.] Germs spread fast in closed corridors.
You would think they’d be a little more respectful to the one place that took them in.
I think because we're technically indoors people assume District Thirteen is like... some giant house to throw their trash around in.
They’ll learn, eventually.
Yes. I certainly hope so.
How has everything been going in your neck of the woods, anyway? Is training going well?
No ma’am. Just surprised that people haven’t gotten it through their heads yet.
Yes. Of course you haven't... It's strange, and it's strange they keep missing the signs that I have no put up all over. As if my time isn't better used elsewhere.
