Dandelion and tiny bee.
Early apple blossoms wear fuzzy coats to keep warm.
Good Morning.
Dandelion faces; Centurians off to war, dancers, a spy, riding hood, a mad scientist, and arctic explorers. Can you find the characters in the dandes?
I was hoping to photograph dandelion parachutes floating in the air one day. The breeze was intermittent, so while it was still, I began looking for characters in the half-shattered seed heads.
Eash of these shots was deliberate, a face, a personality. It’s a good way to shoot -- look for the faces. Can you see them?

Great Black Wasps in oregano blossoms
No monarchs on my milkweed this summer. At least none that I saw. But the sweet milkweed didn't lack for pollinators. This is a Great Black Ground-digger wasp. I reported sighting these on iNaturalist, and it's the farthest-north they've been seen. They're very, very beautiful.
Wild rose hips; they birds have been eating them this cold, cold part of the winter. Thank you, birds, for spreading the seeds all about my yard. Come june, it will smell heavenly.
