To cast a moonlight spell on you.
Frederick Seidel, from The Collected Poems: 1959-2009; âLove Song,â (via angelealowes)
âthe way you light up the room. making all these cliches new again. your hands blooming into sunflowers. your name turning the sky into various shades of sunset. the anxious crack of thunder no longer feeling scary. moths hanging from my rib cage, taking flight every time youâre near. teething through the lining of my stomach to swallow that light. your seaglass eyes. hiding out in magnolia trees. anxious heart beats louder than the thunder. falling. falling. f a l l i n g. never worrying about the impact.â
â a good thing, Angelea Lowes
I get anxious and jealous sometimes and it hurts a lot but itâs still not as strong as my love for you .

One Year Later: all things grow
A tweet from May 2nd, 2016:
I have to wait ten minutes in line...but they're playing Sufjan Stevens's Illinois album, so "I don't mind. I don't mind."
...
I was waiting in line to check out film equipment, and Iâd never met anyone else (not counting on Tumblr or Twitter) who listened to Sufjan Stevens. I wondered if, maybe, the album was playing on accident, just a random group of songs queued by YouTube after someone played a Bon Iver song or something. But then the next song was from Illinois as well, and I knew Iâd found a friend. Or at least someone I could geek out about Sufjan with for 30 seconds instead of the usual âhey how was your dayâ blibber blabber.
As the four or five people in front of me finally peeled away, I shuffled into the small equipment room and asked âWhoâs playing Sufjan?!â In any ordinary social situation, I would have kept my mouth shut and eyes directed downwards, but music gave me some sort of superpowers. Or enough superpowers to seem "normalâ.
âOh, thatâs me,â said the tall lanky reddish-brownish-blondish haired boy behind the counter directly in front of me. He had a tired-shy grin. I began talking about how I fell in love with Sufjanâs music at Eaux Claires music festival, and then I asked what his favorite album was. âIllinois,â he told me. Hm. Age of Adz was Sufjanâs most experimental album, and hence my favorite, but I didnât say anything else.
I thanked him and walked out of the room without even knowing his name.
Whenever I imagined myself dating someone, which at the time was something beyond my comprehension, I thought they should at least have an appreciation for Sufjan Stevens. I considered the boy behind the counter lacking almost all of my usual weaknesses: no curly hair, nor long hair, nor glasses. He was lanky though. HMMMM. I shook my head. If only he were more attractive.
...
A little over a year later, on October 28, 2017, we met again without me realizing it was him. We talked about music and minion memes for two hours and three dates later, on November 12, 2017, we became a couple.
One year after that, on November 12, 2018... Oh thatâs today...
Happy anniversary, love.
a dream // june 7, 2017
I think I had a dream last night.
I think it was
about you.
I think it was about you
because I woke up, and I was smiling,
a goofy grin smeared across my face,
my raised cheeks squeezing my eyes closed
to keep me asleep,
at peace
in that presumably beautiful dream.
I think it was beautiful,
because it was
about you.
I think it was
about you
holding me.
So I was weightless,
but so were you,
Because cerulean water swelled around us,
twisting hair, tugging arms, tickling ears.
Two weightless bodies embracing each other
like two gusts of wind meeting, weaving,
and then becoming one.
I think it was one dream
of many
about you.
Because I swam for safety through a sudden storm,
boarded a sailboat,
searched the sea for your hair, your voice, your soul,
And I lost you.
But for some reason I wasnât sad.
I accepted the death of one you,
As the birth of a new dream.
Then I dreamt of the dreamed sailboat
landing on an island,
where I disembarked onto the golden sand
and opened a thin door, a portal
Into a nebulous cavern,
a floaty space with heavy sounds,
And you whispered from behind a blazing star
I love you.
So maybe this dream
wasnât about you.
It was
about us.
I woke up,
And only echoes of your mind reached out to mine.
I think I had a dream last night,
And when I woke up,
I dreamt it was about you.
Hey sorry I thought your birthday was feb. 28 instead of feb. 23. 3 looks like 8 inside my boggled brain. :(
iâll buy you dinner for both those dates. ;)
