Breaking the rules a little bit with this set....... but that's the whole point anyway!
Photos from a train, some of them in San Antonio, some of them in Houston, and the rest are in between. I'm sure it still mostly unseen. These were all taken from a documentary film being worked on by contributors to this blog. More pics coming soon.

BLUE STAR AND THE GHOSTS AT NIGHT
Water Works Contd: Underneath the Bridge
With the cool air charming our skin and spirits setting fire in our chest, we lay beneath the Lonestar bridge and listen to the night.
Climbing Vidorra and Flying on her Crane: 2007
As I remember, we came to the conclusion that we were just sober enough to climb up 20 stories worth of handmade wooden ladders to step off the edge of the roof top and latch on to the steel spine of the metal beast that towered another 80ft above the soon to be condos. We learned that even when the crane sleeps it never stops breathing. In and out we swayed with the beast and climbed its metallic rungs to the top where we stood just below the fog that was hovering over the tiny city below. We took these pictures and walked to $1.50 Lonestars at Bar America. The last picture is from google maps just so you know what place im talking about.
Storm Drains Near Downtown
Take a walk with Old Grand-Dad, 20ft into these tunnels and darkness consumes you. Headlamps are ok but a lantern works best. You can walk for miles under the city and peak out from random curb cutouts. Thinking we would find our way out the other end was foolish, and the time we climbed out of the manhole in someones front yard was pretty funny. Always hoping its not raining outside.
Lone Star Brewery 2009
This was a group expedition that was almost a success. That is until we had a gun pointed at us, the cops came, and someone was arrested. They tried to confiscate my flicks but instinct had urged me to stash my memory card else where when no one was paying attention.
2008 The Hays St Bridge
All you had to do was step over the steel cable that blocked the hays st entrance and not draw attention to yourself, aka don't piss off the neighbors. Then navigate your way to the top of the bridge and watch out for rotten planks or giant holes that look 50ft down onto a slew of railroad tracks. If you were the type that fancies shimmying up I-beams, you could get the view from another 25ft up, and a great view it was. This place has been completely renovated and was reopened to the public around the later half of 2010. It's still a cool spot to enjoy a 40oz but that's only if there aren't a bunch of hip yups messin it up.
I35 Storm Drain Ditch 2010
Late night walk around. More pics coming soon...
Big Tex Grain 2010
Another whiskey mission to the old abandoned Big Tex grain building. A place to unwind and sing love songs to our city below.
Roosevelt Water Works 2011
There's something about whiskey that just makes you wanna climb shit. The thin steel wire lattice work that the vines around the works refused to climb revealed it to be a magical latter to the core-gated steel roof where we could view the old train bridge in its full, the new work of the riverwalk expansion and a new view of the long abandoned Lone Star Brewery.
The Ruins 2010
Security?... yeah we talked to that guy. he was real nice, he even told us how to avoid him for the rest of the night. The fence ?.... curled up real nicely. The red iron?... yeah it was ruff, but good jeans and long sleeves on, we shimmied right to the top, 7 stories was it?. The wind though, made it next to impossible to take a decent long exposure from the high beams that my legs and camera-free arm were intensely anchored to. And when it was all over we strolled down the street to the 1011 to watch some boring bands that couldn't top the sound track of metal flexing in the wind, blowing through concrete breezeways and jangling the dangling tangles of unfinished re-bar forms.
