It’s interesting because ‘Quim’ pronounced ‘Keem’ as in ‘Ar-Leh-Keem’ from ‘Arlequim’ is how it’s supposed to be pronounced, but what they’re referring to is Quim as in ‘Kweh-m’.
I heard it once (ironically from the Marvel movies which I think is what anon is referencing) where Loki uses the term ‘mewling quim’ as an insult. It’s funny since on paper it would be spelled the same and I suppose without knowing the Portuguese context people might think it’s the same, but it’s very different pronunciations from very different sources!
But for those curious, it is not the same word, go look up the Portuguese pronunciation of Arlequim and you’ll hear it 👏
