Let's break all those myths about consuming Rice Most of the people who are on diet believe that consuming Rice is unhealthy! The fact is that Rice is not unhealthy. It is healthy and is okay for everyone to eat. What matters is the "Portion control "(how much to eat) & the "Combination" (With what to eat) Rice is most widely consumed Staple Food in many parts of the world. Rice is an excellent source of B vitamins(thiamine, riboflavin, niacin) , Magnesium, Manganese and dietary fiber Let's break those myths and learn the facts about Rice: ❌RICE IS FATTENING HENCE CAUSES WEIGHT GAIN: ✅ Excess of anything is bad. Any food can cause fattening if consumed in excess i.e Portion control plays a major role in maintaining good health. Rice is good source of energy. It is easy to digest, cholesterol free and also low in fat. Eating right amount doesn't harm your body. So portion control is important. ❌DIABETICS SHOULD NOT HAVE RICE: ✅We don't eat only rice right! We do eat rice with combinations like dal, vegetables, curd, meat etc. Eating rice with combinations reduce the glycemic index of meals. The right way to eat is - to increase the amount of veggies and dal and reduce the amount of rice. *Again excess of anything is bad* ❌BROWN RICE IS HEALTHIER THAN WHITE RICE: ✅We can accept that brown rice is healthier than white rice because brown rice is more nutritious than white rice.
