Introduction!

Hihihi! Welcome to my other account! I’m Angie (she/her, please) and I’m the creator/author of @branchclangen! I realized that I tended to flood that account with inbox messages and rambles, which drowned out moon updates, and decided to dedicate this account to everything extra- Deep dives, extra Art, questions about the characters, etc.

BUT

He had a decently good life! Unfortunately he never really got over his ED, but it did get slightly better in elderhood.

He did become mates with his best friend Dawnfrost in the future, and the two had three kits together: Magpietail, Baystripe, and Vixentuft. He was also deputy of BranchClan for a little while before he retired.

Also, Bassnose became mates with Dawnfrost literally immediately after Petalnose died??? I'm gonna say everyone (including Petal) was okay with that decision.

Absolutely!!!

Downyfur:

She's a background kitty for the most part. Doesn't do much, doesn't have a mate or kits...But she both hates Glowberry and has a pretty big crush on her which I think is very very funny. Possible enemies to lovers...Or enemies AND lovers. Hehe.

Timbermoss:

Ignore their sickness they'll be fine anyway. I love them. They're one of my fav cats from sprite/design alone. They're Aspenfall and Bumblenose's grandkit, kit of Softheart. they don't currently have a mate or kits and don't have much of a crush on anyone. I imagine they're really chill and give good advice, but they also value their alone time.

Snakeslip:

ANOTHER fav of mine!! He's. Um. He's a weirdo but in the best way possible. As you guys have seen in previous art he has a snake tongue. I also imagine him to be very flexible. He has a crush on both Creekspot (his bestie) and Pythonsnap (not a bestie but a dude he's friends with). His littermate is Newtfoot and he loves his sister to death. Just a cool guy all around ngl <33

Marshlily:

He grows up to have a relatively normal life. Nothing much happens to him, but he does become mates with Lambpatch in the future. He comes to terms with the fact that the affair happened, that he was born from it, and that's just reality. He has no plans to retire anytime soon and plans to be a warrior until he dies. He has two kits with Lambpatch- Woolkit and Rosekit! Other than that there's not much else to say about Mr Marsh <33

Speckleflake:

The affair affected Speckleflake more than his littermate Marshlily. For a long part of his adult life (which won't be touched on in the actual comic/made into a full arc) he was addicted to poppy seeds and spent a lot of time sleeping, resulting in poor performance as a warrior and terrible emotional regulation. He got clean, thankfully, and turned his life around. He got a mate, Firepool! And the two have had five kits together: Hatchshade, Dovebranch, Hushfoot, Havenleap, and Hopstep. Speckleflake is also a grandpa! He's the grandfather of Thrushpaw, and the two are very close...Especially since Hopstep (Thrushpaw's mother) died when Thrush was still a kit.

Why is Frozenbeam the way he is? Is it just a case of him being a shit person, did smth happen to him when he was younger? I’m curious

He's genuinely just born like that!! I imagine it's a combination of being resented by Wren's colony at birth combined with being spoiled by Jasper and his former twolegs as a kittypet. The bitterness mixed with never being told no and getting whatever he wanted when he wanted it turned Frozenbeam into...Frozenbeam.

And I also think that he knows he's a terrible guy for what he did to Pearfur, but also realizes that using that kind of force is a gurantee to get what he wants. So he's willing to be deplorable if it means someone else submits to him. I..Hope that makes sense??

Here's his profile:

Son of Troutskip and Ottertuft and littermate to Bunnytuft, Rockfreckle, Alpacashade, Juniperbee, and Pigeonpaw.

Auburnkit was born as part of the largest litters the clan has seen in moons. BranchClan strongly values family and having a large clan/community, so they were thrilled and happy to welcome in a new large litter. What they weren't too thrilled about was Auburnkit's appearance. Aside from the white ear and long fur, he was a spitting image of his long deceased grandfather Frozenbeam. Troutskip was especially devastated by this, and felt like it was Fate mocking him. He was distant from Auburn for most of his kithood, which made Auburnkit feel terrible. He felt like he'd done something wrong by simply being born...While Troutskip simply didn't want to risk having a breakdown and hurting his son. Auburnkit was very close with his other father Ottertuft, though.

Things changed when Auburnpaw was apprenticed. Hopestar decided to make Troutskip mentor his son, but agreed that Troutskip was allowed to request a different mentor for Auburnpaw if he was too triggered by it. The two actually grew closer in Auburnpaw's apprenticeship, and formed an actual father-son bond with each other. :D

Auburnpaw and his best friend/crush Thrushpaw found Gillpaw in the tunnels, injured and weak. They brought Gillpaw back to camp and the three of them not only became close friends...But they also all have a crush on each other!! He earned the name Auburnskip, which was actually requested by Troutskip himself. He wanted Auburn to be named after him to make up for how he treated him in kithood. :)

Anyway that's all I'll say about Auburnskip. If I say any more I'll be rambling all day and idk if anyone wants to hear that </3

Sure thing!! Here's her profile! (ignore the injury, it's just a dislocated joint)

Dovesnow is the daughter of Orchidfreckle and Puddlefrost, younger sister of Rippleleaf, and older sister of Honeysight. She's the aunt of Newtfoot, Snakeslip, Eagleleap, Bluebelltail, Turtlestep, and Dapplecloud.

Dovesnow has had a relatively normal life so I won't go into detail on her entire backstory. She's an extremely meek and timid cat, with a voice so soft barely anyone can hear her- Unlike her brothers, who both turned out loud and extroverted. She has trouble speaking up for herself and often lets other cats walk all over her if it means she gets to avoid confrontation or someone being angry with her.

Her best friends in the clan are Beepool and Burrowbark!! She's also extremely close with both of her moms and her brothers <33

Why did moonstar(?) retire? I would ask how violetstar dies but I don't wanna ruin it for myself LOL, so this is the next best option

That's a good question!!

Moonstar retires because everyone hates him. When he becomes leader mass extinction events start happening and wipe out some very well-loved cats in the clan. The grieving clan members openly hate him. Someone even attempted to assassinate him, which resulted in Moonstar killing that cat in self defense in front of everyone. His first choice of deputy, Littleowl, steps down from the role because her grief is too great to handle. So he picks Suncall.

Things are good for a little bit, but only because Suncall has to step up and do leader work without even being leader. So eventually he decides to retire, since he's old and would rather spend however long he has left with his mate and his kits. He manages to convince Moonstar to retire with him, because he knows very well that Moonstar was never fit for the job. Moonstar agrees to give up his remaining lives and retire, and Hopestar is voted as the next leader. :D

What's a major thing you would change in Branchclan if you could go back.

The start of it. I'd give Owlshade two kits instead of just one. I'd probably make Owlshade slightly older, make Violetkit slightly older also, and give her either a younger sibling or a littermate. I just think that would be fun and it's too late to retcon a sibling in now. :((

I also would've:

Made Fawnspring and Violetstar mates and given them kits.

Given Owlshade and Octet Rulekite kits.

Changed a few characters. Can't think of anything specific off the top of my mind rn.

Brought Doecall, Shilinshock, Gorgefleck, and Silverbranch back to life.
