Bellara: Harding! You can fight this! I know it!
Davrin: Harding, don't! This isn't you! Fight it!
Emmrich: Fight this, Harding! Return to us!
If Lucanis forgave Illario
Lucanis: Harding, listen to yourself! Does that anger sound like yours?
If Lucanis imprisoned Illario
Lucanis: The elves aren't here! Pick your target!
Otherwise
Lucanis: Harding! This isn't you!
If Neve is Dock Town's inspiration
Neve: Lace, stop! Fight this! I know you can!
If Neve is Dock Town's protector
Neve: Damn it, Lace! Fight it! And don't back down!
Otherwise
Neve: Lace, you're not yourself! Fight this!
If Taash is romancing Harding
Taash: Come back to me! Please! Lace!
Otherwise
Taash: Fight it! You are stronger than this!
Harding: (Screams)
Rook: Harding, please!
Harding: Why? Did the elves stop when we begged? When the earth itself screamed?
Elek's lines in Act 3 now differ depending on whether Neve is alive or not.
Elek Tavor: To be clear: I haven't been fighting Venatori just so their god can kill me. Take him down, Rook.
If Neve is alive:
Elek Tavor: Have fun. And keep the boss alive. Who else will pay me for gossip?
Elek Tavor: Cards when this is over?
If Neve is dead:
Elek Tavor: Neve always said a job would get her. She didn't have to be right about it.
Elek Tavor: Do me a favor, Rook. Look that god in the eye… and make his death slow.
While restoring cut banter during A Murder of Crows (here and here), I found out that the wrong flag was set for that quest. And if you chose Save Caterina in the mental prison, you won't hear the lines related to that choice. By default, the game thinks as if you chose Punish Illario, even though the lines are actually supposed to differ
Rook: Did Illario even offer any bait? What is this party supposed to be for?
Lucanis: Viago's invitation said they would "celebrate the new First Talon and discuss the situation in Treviso."
If Lucanis chose to save Caterina during the Inner Demons
Lucanis: It doesn't matter. I'm getting Caterina out of there.
Lucanis: We find her, and Illario's plan falls apart.
Otherwise
Lucanis: It doesn't matter what my cousin thinks he's doing. It ends now.
Lucanis: We go in, find Caterina, and we'll have the perfect shot at Illario.
-----
Bellara: What will you do? When you find Illario, I mean.
Davrin: So, you find your cousin. What then?
Emmrich: Have you considered what you'll do once you catch your cousin?
Harding: So… we're looking for Illario. Now that you know… everything.
Neve: You know how this is going to end, right?
Taash: Hey. Lucanis. You gonna kill Illario?
If Lucanis chose to save Caterina during the Inner Demons
Lucanis: I'm here for Caterina. Whatever happens to Illario is just a bonus.
Otherwise
Lucanis: He will suffer for what he's done. That's the deal.
-----
Lucanis: The family rooms are up ahead.
If Lucanis chose to save Caterina during the Inner Demons
Lucanis (Spite): Soon. We will find. Our goal.
Otherwise
Lucanis (Spite): First her. And then. We find what we seek.
-----
Rook: Do you have a plan to deal with Illario?
Lucanis: …
Rook: Lucanis?
Lucanis: I'm working on it.
If the player saved Minrathous
Lucanis (Spite): The traitor. Deserves. No mercy.
If Lucanis chose to save Caterina during the Inner Demons
Lucanis (Spite): We know. His tricks.
Otherwise
Lucanis (Spite): He is ours! He will not. Escape us.
In Lucanis' mental prison, Harding is the only person for whom Spite gives no emotional description. In a cut post-game scene, if Harding sacrificed herself on Tearstone Island, he could even ask what (who) is this?
Now Rook and the companions react to Jacobus' death if he became a darkspawn.
Jacobus: Treviso… will…
Jacobus: … free.
Rook: That was definitely Jacobus.
Bellara: Damn it.
Davrin: Poor kid.
Emmrich: That poor boy.
Harding: Oh, no.
Neve: Damn it.
Taash: Kid didn't deserve that.
Lucanis: He will be honored as a full Crow. This is his contract, and we shall see it done.
If the player saved Minrathous and Ivenci is dead
Bellara: People will do anything just to have a little more power.
Davrin: Stubborn to the end. I suppose that's why the Antaam followed them.
Emmrich: What an inflexible pursuit of control. Perhaps that's why the Antaam followed the governor.
Harding: How could Ivenci not see where this was going? And the Antaam followed anyway.
Lucanis: A fine end to a contract. And an enemy.
Neve: The lengths people go for just a drop more power. And they still find followers.
Taash: Antaam like stubborn idiots.
If the player saved Treviso
Governor Ivenci: (Panting) You can't do this!
Jacobus: The governor isn't in any shape to run. I'll make sure they don't leave before the other Crows arrive.
Governor Ivenci: I still have influence. I'll win any trial!
Jacobus: Who'll vouch for you? The Antaam?
Governor Ivenci: (Despairing groan)
If Rook is an Antivan Crow
Governor Ivenci: You! You've done enough. You and the other Crows.
Default
Governor Ivenci: You and the Crows don't know what you're doing.
Governor Ivenci: This city will fail without me!
Rook: Out cold. The Crows can send someone to pick up the governor.
If the player saved Minrathous and Ivenci is dead
Rook: And that's the end of the governor.
If the player saved Treviso
Rook: Ivenci's in custody, locked in their own garrison. It's fitting.
Rook: Let's tell Teia and Viago.
These lines have no conditions, but it sounds like Ivenci could have died even if the player saved Treviso. Or Jacobus was alive even if Minrathous was saved. Or perhaps this is content from when there was no city choice yet.
Jacobus: They deserved that. Ivenci was a governor no one will miss.
Rook: Not even the Antaam. They'll follow someone else.
Jacobus: And we'll be ready.
Jacobus: I'll meet you back at the Diamond, Rook. Teia and Viago will want to know what happened.
During The Soul of a City quest Rook must confront Knight-Commander Lenos. There are very few specifics in his plans. But originally, Rook was supposed to not only find evidence against Lenos and fight him, but also actively thwart his plans. Most of this content was removed, but some of it can still be found.
In the Undercity, Lenos and the Venatori planted several bombs that, when detonated, would release the blight into the streets of Minrathous. One of the Venatori was so terrified of this that she shared the information with Rook. The script includes lines of this dialogue.
Lenos is in the catacombs beneath the city. He and the Venatori planned to release blight into Dock Town.
The devices were meant to release blight?
Yes! To breach the catacombs beneath the city. There's blight hidden there!
If there's as much as I suspect there is, and if the streets collapse…
I sensed more blight recently. A lot of it. I should've known.
Pardon me if I don't believe a lick of this. Could be a trap. She's Venatori herself.
This lines up with what we got from the source at the Swan.
I thought the Venatori offered a better life, but I don't want this! My family lives here!
And if the streets collapse… everything down there comes up here.
It was Knight-Commander Lenos's plan. He and the other Venatori are probably still down there.
Good luck down there.
The Venatori have been selling lies to people for years. Promising them they'll make things better.
It seems whatever we do to stop them, it's never enough.
We need to catch Lenos. He knows the rest of the Venatori's plans.
Rook finds evidence of this (Minrathous target map in the bar) and reports it to Dorian.
Rook: I found this. The Venatori are targeting parts of Minrathous with these bombs.
Dorian: Kaffas! Nothing like an attack to cause chaos in a city.
Dorian: You should head there immediately. I'll send a message to the other Shadow Dragons to meet you.
Dorian: You're going to need support.
In the Undercity, Rook was supposed to meet the Viper and possibly Tarquin. Unfortunately, almost nothing remains of their conversations.
Rook: Dorian said he'd get someone to meet us. It'll likely be one of the Shadow Dragons.
Rook: There's the Viper!
The Viper (and Tarquin) stayed with the firtst device, while Rook went to disable the two bombs leading to it. Lines from the script:
This one's linked to two others that need to be destroyed first.
Then Tarquin and I will deal with the rest of the Venatori up here.
Each bomb was guarded by the Venatori. After fighting them, the device had to be deactivated. It's unclear whether this was a special mechanic or just a one-click action.
Venatori combat 1
Rook: Venatori guarding the bomb!
Venatori combat 1 end
Rook: Let's disable this bomb.
Davrin: Careful. Don't want it going off in our faces.
Harding: Rook, please be careful with that.
Lucanis: Careful, Rook.
Taash: Try not to get blown up.
Device 1 disarmed
Rook: All right. We got one. Let's keep going.
Venatori combat 2
Rook: More Venatori!
Device 2 disarmed
Rook: That's both devices now. Let's check in with the Viper.
After that, Rook returned to the Viper, but the rest is up to speculation. Perhaps they defused the last bomb together and then went on to fight Lenos, or he was already dead idk.
Cut banter with Varric in the Prison of Regrets. According to the code name, this was supposed to be the last banter before Rook learned the truth.
Rook: You told me you were going to talk to Solas.
Rook: Give him another option.
If Rook didn't support Varric's decision in the prologue
Varric: And you told me he wouldn't listen.
Varric: Turns out, you were right.
If Rook supported Varric
Varric: And you thought he might listen.
Varric: Turns out, we were both wrong.
There are quite a few of them, the text is under the cut.
If Rook is Antivan Crow
Fletcher: Hello, Rook. Glad to see you in the Diamond. You keep Viago on his toes.
Fletcher: Feels good to see a friend of the Crows fighting back. I'll sell whatever you need.
Fletcher: I keep the Crows well-stocked. You're welcome to it.
Fletcher: And anyone fighting the Antaam is a welcome customer here.
Fletcher: I'm not rehanging my house banner until we really start driving them out of Treviso.
Rook: What was that you said about hanging your house banner?
If Rook is Antivan Crow
Fletcher: You know how we Crows are about heraldry and a proper woven history.
Fletcher: Crow houses take pride in heraldry. We like a good woven history.
Fletcher: Unfortunately, the first step in the occupation was tearing down symbols. The Antaam burned our banners.
Fletcher: I'm not putting my house banner back up until we really start taking our city back.
Fletcher: They're not curtains. Hanging one means something.
Rook: You sure you have extra to sell? I don't want to use up limited supplies.
Fletcher: Don't worry, I get the basics delivered straight to the people. We have runners in the alleys.
Fletcher: The stuff I sell here isn't for the general public. You could say it's meant for the Antaam, in a round bout way.
Rook: How are you getting weapons past the Antaam?
Fletcher: The same way you get a river past a mountain: I find cracks, and I keep moving.
Fletcher: It could be harder, I'll give them that. The Butcher could burn the walls to the ground.
Fletcher: I'd hardly call him "gentle," but he wants the city intact for some reason.
Rook: How's business?
Fletcher: As good as can be expected with the Antaam choking my shipments. They want us locked down and hungry.
Fletcher: There's a few of us out there keeping people fed... but it's rough.
If A Slow Poison quest is completed
Rook: Keeping busy, Fletcher?
Fletcher: Word is you killed the Butcher's poisoner right under his nose. You're a legend.
Fletcher: I put my house banner back up because of you. We're open for business and ready to fight back.
Rook: You hear what happened to the Antaam poisoner? Ever seen that before?
Fletcher: Antaam becoming monsters? New to me. Physically, anyway.
Fletcher: I'll keep an eye on what they ship in, but if that happened because of the gods, I don't know what to tell you.
Fletcher: Besides "Thanks for killing it."
Rook: Hey, Fletcher. Any idea where the poisoner was getting his supplies?
Fletcher: Antaam mixtures are so secret, and their regular supplies are so weird… Who knows what part of their shipments was the poison?
Fletcher: I wish I could cut them off from everything, but there's always some asshole willing to make a profit in wartime.
Rook: Keeping your supplies up, Fletcher?
Fletcher: Doing my best. Focusing on keeping Heir stocked so she can train the fledglings.
Fletcher: It's not easy. Jacobus keeps breaking things. Kid's angry to the core.
Fletcher: Can't say I blame him.
Rook: How long have you been supplying Heir and her trainees?
Fletcher: I've sold to three Heirs. Never asked where they come from, or why they have the same name.
Fletcher: I prefer to keep my customers, and let them keep their secrets.
If Rook saved Treviso
Rook: Heard about the dragon fight?
Fletcher: Heard about it, and heard it directly. It echoed across the city when it dropped.
Fletcher: Honestly, I don't know how you still have enemies to fight. Who hears you chased off a dragon and says, "I bet I can take 'em"?
If For the Love of Treviso quest is completed
Rook: Heard the news, I take it?
Fletcher: That you put down the Butcher, and in his shadow was a traitor? That's all anyone is talking about.
Fletcher: Stock up, Rook. No way I'm letting Ivenci take up where the Butcher left off.
Rook: I see Neri and Noa hung the de Acutis banner next to yours.
If Rook is Antivan Crow
Fletcher: You know our houses have history. Blood both good and bad.
Fletcher: I wouldn't have always welcomed it. Crow houses don't always get along.
Fletcher: Nothing like a common enemy to bring the families together.
Fletcher: Keep an eye on Jacobus, Rook.
Fletcher: Ivenci's betrayal has him angrier than ever. I can't blame him, but he's got to learn to control it.
Fletcher: Be a shame to see that kid lose himself.
Rook: Any news, Fletcher?
Fletcher: Ivenci is doing their best to kiss up to the Antaam. Shipping in all kinds of strange goods.
Fletcher: Brings a lot of traffic to the docks, though. It actually makes it easier for me to smuggle goods in.
Fletcher: The only good thing Ivenci's responsible for, far as I'm concerned.
Fletcher: Be a proud day if one of my toys helps bring down the governor.
Rook: Working on it.
Fletcher: I'm patient. And you're a safe bet.
If A Time to Kill quest is completed
Rook: Good days ahead, Fletcher?
Fletcher: You're always welcome here, Rook. You've cleared the way for Treviso to be free.
Fletcher: Of course, with the Antaam still in the streets like rats of unusual size, I'll keep up a booming business.
Fletcher: But one day, I'll close up shop for the right reasons.
Rook: Any news, Fletcher?
Fletcher: I'm going over Antaam manifests. I want to make sure we spot any of those poison ingredients if they show up again.
Fletcher: We're not taking any risks. The Antaam that are left have to fight on our terms.
Rook: Is the Egrativi banner your work, Fletcher?
Fletcher: I have talented people. Fast work, wasn't it?
Fletcher: In truth? A new house was inevitable, what with all the loss of the occupation.
Fletcher: My weavers started it a while ago. Keeping themselves busy with hope.
Fletcher: Stocking up before clearing out more Antaam?
Rook: You'd be my first stop.
Fletcher: Glad to hear it. You're very good for business.
Fletcher: Everyone wants to visit Rook's favorite store in the Diamond.
Side note: Reference to Shepard's favorite store on the Citadel in Mass Effect
Fletcher: Keep an eye on Jacobus, Rook.
Rook: Still have concerns?
Fletcher: No, no, I'm telling that to everyone. His house is destined to rival the best of us.
Fletcher: Have you seen Teia and Viago now? Haven't seen that look in years.
If Rook is Antivan Crow
Rook: They're "on-again" again. Who knows how long it lasts this time?
Fletcher: I think it's a portent of good tidings. Like hints of a good harvest. Or a Tuesday.
Rook: Saving Treviso seems to have brought them together.
Fletcher: Oh, I think it'd happen, regardless. Their repeating history never seems too far away.
To open the gate to the revenant dragon during The Heart of Corruption quest, Rook must collect the essences of three revenants, each of whom is also behind a sealed gate that is opened by the essence of champions.
Previously, in the location of the revenants there were vials of blood that needed to be interacted with in order to summon the owner of this blood.
Concept art by Albert Urmanov shows what this idea looked like.
In the script you can find unused lines related to these vials.
Mysterious Blood Vial
The air is cold and unusually still around this area. A small glass vial sits undisturbed. Do you touch it?
There are also cut pieces of dialogue in the files when Rook finds another vial.
Rook: Blood. But it smells like… (Disgusted noise)
Bellara: Like it's been rotting forever.
Davrin: Worse than darkspawn blood.
Emmrich: Like an adept's first experiment.
Harding: Like I feel a little sick.
Lucanis: That's not blood. It's something worse.
Neve: And it's in a vial. Positioned to be found.
Taash: (Revolted noise) It's gonna be in my nose all day!
Rook: Another blood vial. Get ready.
Rook: Another blood vial. I can feel the chill from here… Get ready.
Just like in the game, defeated revenants dropped keys. Rook used them to lit the glyphs on the gates to the dragon.
Rook: Whatever we got from that undead, it's… pulling towards the door.
Rook: The other glyphs are still dark. If we want inside, we must need more blood vials.
Rook: Another one lit. One more to go.
Rook: One last key.
Rook: And then there were three.
In the script you can find pieces of a quest related to the Crows. It appears Rook was on a mission to assassinate Antaam and, in the process, found encrypted documents. Most likely, the lines differ depending on whether Rook is a Crow, and also if Lucanis is in the party.
After dealt with the Antaam:
That should give the Crows some room to breathe.
That should give the Crows time to regroup.
Good to put a dent in the occupation.
Good. Folks in Treviso deserve to be safer from the Antaam.
After the way they've treated Treviso, I hope it makes them afraid of the Crows.
Like Teia always says: nothing lifts the spirits like a public message.
The Antaam cannot be everywhere. But this? This gives the illusion that the Crows can.
And we've made a statement. One that people will notice.
Finds an encrypted list:
Written in code.
Hmmm. It's all in code.
They're all in code.
Looks written in code.
Coded. Must be worth something.
Must be Crow secrets. Safe from the Antaam now.
Coded. I know that cipher.
Records of our contracts! If the Antaam had deciphered these, they could have ransomed them for a fortune.
Wait, this is a Crow cipher. Records of contracts!
If the Antaam had broken this, they could've blackmailed us, sold them off…
Glad we got this back. Teia and Viago have enough trouble to deal with.
ICYMI Lucanis used to have the ability to decipher messages
